A STYLISH, SOPHISTICATED APARTMENT ONE BLOCK FROM THE PICASSO MUSEUM.
A 19th century hat factory in the Marais has been completely renovated into a chic, comfortable and modern apartment.
'The Picasso' is a one-bedroom, one-bath apartment with a well equipped open 'American' kitchen. The size is 50 meters square (550 square feet). Located on the second floor (third floor American) the building is equipped with an elevator.
Situated on the quiet street, rue de Thorigny, one block up from the Picasso Museum, we have created an apartment with meticulous attention to every detail. We have incorporated custom furnishings, antiques and original art with traditional wood floors. Original floor to ceiling windows overlook the street flooding the living and dining areas with light. The bedroom is located at the back of the apartment and has windows for excellent cross ventilation. The bedroom has built-in closets, and high quality linens and matresses.
Here is what our first tenant said. 'We're here and happy - bed is great -apartment is absolutely lovely, and what can we say about the location--beyond the best!'
We can arrange for you to be picked up at the airport by a bilingual driver who will be waiting for you and will assist you with your luggage.
At the apartment you will find our personalized handbook which will have tips for enjoying the neighborhood, a list of our favorite restaurants, emergency numbers and instructions for using the appliances. The rental price includes everything except for overages on phone use, however most calls are free, even those to the U.S.
Our location is extraordinary with great restaurants, art galleries and fashionable shops at your doorstep. There are narrow streets that have not changed for centuries. You will be one block from the Picasso Museum, an easy walk to Place des Vosges, the Musee Carnavalet, the Pompidou Center, the Bastille Opera and the Jewish Museum. The latin quarter (St. Germain) is a half hour stroll away. Rue de Bretagne, famous for its food purveyors and its historic covered market 'Enfants Rouges' is a few short blocks away.
In the apartment you will find every amenity you will need including a Mac laptop computer with wireless internet and a cell phone. Some cell phone calling time is provided and additional minutes can easily be purchased at SFR phone stores or at any Tabac.
Excellent access to the metro. St. Sebastien Froissart is the closest metro stop. About a five minute walk. There is excellent bus service as well.
We also have an adjacent two bedroom apartment 'The Cocteau.' (for details see VRBO #155068) The apartments can be joined and rented as a three bedroom unit (see VRBO #197562).
In our continual efforts to make your stay as enjoyable and convenient as possible, we are happy to offer our guests our SMARTY phone, which will become your new Parisian best friend!!! Avoid high roaming data costs and enjoy all that technology has to offer-- 4G, unlimited calls (including abroad), and GPS services to make walking around in Paris easier-- all for the rate of 5 euros a day, essentially the cost of a fancy Parisian coffee :) Please let us know upon booking that you are interested so we can reserve a SMARTY for your stay.
I was a bit reluctant, as they do not go through VRBO, but transaction was easy and communication was good.
Pros: great location, good sized apartment, fully equipped kitchen, responsive and good communication.
Cons: attention to detail could be better. No facial tissue, no soap, no shampoo, phone not working correctly, a couple of lights not working.I am sure phone and light issue would have been addressed if brought to tension of management.
Apartment is "shabby chic". Furniture mismatched and of moderate quality.although bed is comfortable, it is a low platform bed, no headboard, juscotive curtain on back wall.
Street not as quiet as described. There are several art galleries around having nightly showings. When windows are open it is noisy and curtains do not close fully to provide privacy.
One small fan was provided, and was not adequate.
Apartment reminded me of my first apartment after college.
Summary- I prefer more services and luxury. Although this was adequate for the two of us for a stay of 5 days. Would be tight for more than two people, but could work for a couple with a child.
We had a wonderful week in Paris thanks to Sophie and her crew for putting us up in the apartment. The apartment was as described, clean, comfortable and very secure. We were centrally located ( the Picasso Museum is literally next door) and the Metro was very close by, easily walkable to some very delicious bakeries. The central location of the apartment was the key and we definitely would come back to stay here again.
Great clean apartment with all of the amenities in the very interesting Marais district. Art galleries and boutiques right outside your door. The pick-up driver made it very easy upon arrival. Highly recommended, just wish they would accept payment through VRBO
What a pleasant stay and everything is as it was described! Very clean, responsive and a great location.. Very central to everything and we loved our stay. Good size apartment, very roomy and near everything.. W
Great Place in a perfect location. Sophie made everything easy - there was someone to great us at the airport to drive us to the apartment and then there was a housecleaner there to give us the keys. The place is clean and pretty and SO QUIET! Great night's sleep in the city.
