This is a large, private property, located in the center of the small resort village of Cabo Pulmo, just steps away from the dive shop, the beach, and all the restaurants.
The nearest beach is a calm one, suitable for children and marvelous for a dip at the beginning or the end of the day. It is only a 2-minute walk from the house. There are numerous other beaches within a short drive north or south of Cabo Pulmo.
The house is surrounded by a half-acre garden that offers privacy, beautiful views and abundant birds and wildlife. A solid, 6 foot privacy fence encloses the house and garden.
There is internet at the house suitable for email and surfing the web, a great sound system, and a library of DVD's.
The best way to check availability is by dropping us an email. We'll reply as soon as possible! We're also available by phone. We'd love a chance to chat with you about the property, Cabo Pulmo, and Baja in general.
We welcome you to our one-of-a-kind gem, hidden away in a little corner of Mexico.

P.S. A hearty 'thank you' to Bruce Lyon, who visited with his family in 2013, for the beautiful bird photos he allowed us to use!

My husband and I both work in agriculture. He is involved with vegetable seed production and I with organic certification. We raised our family Monterey/Salinas area of California, and currently live and work in Chile.
Janning Kennedy purchased this house in 2006
You have to see it to believe how special this place is. It is the most appealing, most comfortable place we've ever been. There's world-class surfing for my husband and a huge, beautiful, native garden for me. It's everything we could want. The house is both artful and designed for comfort. It's like living outdoors, only with all the comforts of a modern home. It's simply perfect.
We both love Mexico, especially the Baja, for its wonderful people, warm oceans and beautiful landscapes. When we crest the hill overlooking Cabo Pulmo we are looking down on our dream home. As we enter the property, we let go of pressures and stress, take a deep breath, and just relax. It is the perfect home: beautiful but unpretentious, warm, unique, and inviting. We love sitting on the porch and identifying birds and wildlife in the garden, and going up to the roof to watch the brilliant stars at night. We think you'll find it one of your favorite places on earth, and want to return again and again, just like we do.
Beautiful,I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here at the Jewel. I had 3 people in my party, so my daughter had the little castia on the property and my husband and I had the main house and, my friends were next door at el encanto. it was perfect for a big group, everyone had there space within walking distance and the locals in town were very nice. It was so nice to cook and eat at home and enjoy the beautiful veranda. we also went out twice and had some very nice meals within walking distance. The only time we drove was to go snorking at the near by beaches. There was so much bird life and I felt safe having it gated in for are cars and are dog. Karl was very nice man and very helpful when we arrived. There was plenty of towels and snorkeling gear boogie boards chairs etc, which was nice. I hope to come back next year for sure.
The only thing I have to say is the stove needs some work, its not bad it just takes forever to heat stuff, its probably clogged a little. And for anyone that needs a bathroom in the middle of the night its not in the bedroom, its by the kitchen, which did not madder to me because its all gated in and very private.
I'm still here , sitting on the verandah and watching the birds while I drink my morning coffee.
It couldn't be more perfect! Thank you
What a delightful find and a marvellous introduction to Cabo Pulmo National Park. We rented the whole enchilada and well worth it in every way.
Based in La Paz with a three day break in Cabo Pulmo.
Arranged booking from UK & Janning the owner so prompt and accommodating with our request.
Loved the Santana music as backdrop to
U Tube property advert!
The drive down from La Paz was good and no problem with dirt roaIt as you hit C.P. Wonderful wildlife en route.
Spectacular scenery all around the property and so private and peaceful.
Karl had an airport run so he left everything just perfect for us and we met up later.
The Mexican artistry in main casa is amazing with interesting books to read from art to surfing. Looking at build plans one can see it has been a labour of love by the owners.
Off grid: big fridge and all mod cons. Just bring food and drink- although La Cabellera Cantina opposite has extra large water containers for sale - useful as weather absolutely roasting.
It was the only one of two open at the time as very few tourists. Food was delicious and plentiful with friendly staff.
My casita was well equally stocked and did not want for anything.Bed was most comfy! I kept all the windows open at night as insect screens in place. Felt very safe - no need for locks here.
My daughter & partner soon got used to their new bedfellows: giant owl butterflies and a bat that demised on the outside wall!
We spent hours watching and photographing the birds with Karl topping up the Hummingbird water bottles and bringing bird seed. Red Cardinals/ / Mexican Jays / Cactus Wrens/ varieties of Hummingbirds / Greater Roadrunners / Crested Caracaras / Hooded Orioles / Flickers and woodpeckers were amazing. The Hummingbirds have big personalities and were remarkably used to humans. Those tiny feet!!
The beach is near but steep with huge waves at the time. I'd researched best snorkelling spots and Los Arbolitos about 15 mins away was truly wonderful. Swam right out and amazing coral and fish variety. Safe and easy access into sea. Busy at weekends with local families - quieter in the week. Even when busy it's light years from English beaches re: amount of people!
Beach towels : parasol & chairs provided with cooler.
The roof top main casa offers panoramic view of the hills behind and sea in front: fantastic sunrises and sunsets. Minimal mozzies as too hot.
If you want a taste of paradise even for a few nights you won't regret booking up!
We spent a week at the beautiful "Jewel"! After taking nine days to drive down the Baja, camping along the way, it was like heaven to arrive in Cabo Pulmo and stay put for a while! Everything about the house, village, and area were as good or better than we expected! It really is a magical place. While at the house we were either on the roof or playing cards on the porch. It was also fun to make wonderful, fresh meals in the kitchen. Everything is just beautiful from the garden, to the tile, to the decor and furniture. The activities in Cabo Pulmo were the things we like..... beach walking, swimming, scuba, snorkeling, and hiking. Sunrises and sunsets were spectacular. We can't wait to return!
My husband and 8 year old son stayed at the villa for a week and cannot say enough good things about this stunning place. The entire experience from booking to checking out was excellent. The Jannings responded to our request immediately, and our communications with Karl, the caretaker were very helpful. Karl is a wonderful person and checked in on us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. The home is really beautiful, a perfect place to take breaks from the beautiful beaches and snorkeling. Well furnished kitchen, comfortable beds, beautiful deck to lounge on. It has a beautiful and large garden that is full of local birds and creatures. The town of Pulmo is remote and is about 90 minutes from Los Cabos Airport, the last 30 minutes of which you are on potholed and dirt roads. The roads are totally manageable, you just need to take your time and just enjoy the ride. Totally worth the trek out there, though, and we're already planning our return trip for next year.
My wife and I recently had a 3 night stay in the villa and truly loved the experience. The owners were prompt with e-mail responces and even a phone call during the booking process. Booking was simple and clean and Jannings information package supplied with the contract was great. Directions were exact and very helpful. Quite the experience living for a few days of the grid but once we settled in it really was not an isssue. The villa was equipped with everything you need. We would highly recomend this villa for anyone who wants a unique experience in the Cabo Pulmo area
This beautiful, half-acre property boasts a delightful garden of native & tropical plants; bird-watching is superb right from the porch. Restaurants & activity centers are 1 to 2 minutes walking distance. World-class deep sea fishing available outside the Marine Reserve, just a short drive away.
The Cabo Pulmo Marine Sanctuary is a world-class preserve that has rebounded spectacularly in the past 10 years. Diving and snorkeling are excellent, as is surfing, beach combing and hiking in the surrounding hills.
Cabo Pulmo is known for it's quiet, laid-back, relaxing lifestyle.
