Just perfect

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect for our large group visiting for a ski weekend. It is an amazing location (a minute drive to the mountain) and the hot tub was perfection after a day on the slopes. Please note that as other reviewers have said the sauna does not work. However that didn't bother us... We would definitely recommend and stay again. Thank you!

Spacious Home

  • 3 of 5

Large home seconds from Mt. Snow but amenities were lacking. No batteries in any of the remote controls for tv's, not enough towels, blankets or pillows for advertised number of people the home can sleep. The condition of some of the amenities were disappointing and we did not use the hot tub or sauna. The game room was missing half a carpet and had a nail sticking out of the floor.

The location was excellent and it was very large.

Very Thankful!

  • 5 of 5

My family simply loved staying at Pat's house for a December ski weekend. I can't imagine finding a more perfect home so close to Mount Snow. The mountain is literally down the road! The house itself is well beautifully decorated and very cozy. We specially loved the great room and it's large windows overlooking the valley. The kids were hunkered down in the game room most of the weekend and just had so much fun. They keep asking if we can go back to "our house" in Vermont. Very thankful to Pat for a memorable weekend.

Perfect place for a getaway

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here for a ski weekend with a group of friends, and I couldn't imagine a better place to stay.

The house is massive. The main area with an open kitchen, dining room and living room with warm fireplace is a great spot for everyone to hang out. We cooked and ate meals together (there are plenty of folding chairs so more can squeeze in around the table), and spent most of our time in the big room. The kitchen had a good assortment of pots and pans which made it easy to cook big meals.

The hot tub is hot, and larger than I expected, a great place to relax on the late night. We couldn't figure out how to work the sauna, but that was fine because again, we had the hot tub. The game room with pool table is also fun. There are so many beds and futons etc -- easy to see how it could sleep 18 without anyone having to be on an air mattress.

Everything was clean and tidy, from the bathrooms to the linens, and there were spare pillows and blankets stacked all around the house for anyone sleeping on the sofa sleepers or such.

The house is less than five minutes driving to Mount Snow ski area, as you'll see from the house's deck. So close and convenient. You could walk to the ski area if you were so inclined.

Greg and Pat were excellent hosts-via-email; they answered all my questions promptly and mailed detailed house instructions and directions for our drive up.

All in all, can't imagine a better place to stay for a friend reunion. Five stars!

About Pat Ferro

Pat and Art Ferro are the proud owners of the Upper Handle Road House. Five summers ago Pat and Art celebrated there 50th wedding anniversary, despite both of them being under the age of 30. Art is an accountant. When he’s not crunching numbers, you can find him hanging out with family and friends, curled up reading a book, or helping his wife hang her curtains (more on that in a minute). Pat, a former nurse, now spends much of her time with her grandchildren. The sharp eye Pat has for home decorating can be seen throughout the house. Pat handmade every curtain in the house. but notes they would not be up if it were not for the hanging skills of her husband. She also personally furnished and decorated every room, always mixing luxury with the warmth and country feel of Vermont. Thanks to Pat and Art, hundreds of people every year enjoy outstanding vacations in the Mount Snow area that they remember for a lifetime.
