Pat and Art Ferro are the proud owners of the Upper Handle Road House. Four summers ago Pat and Art celebrated there 50th wedding anniversary, despite both of them being under the age of 30. Art is an accountant. When he’s not crunching numbers, you can find him hanging out with family and friends, curled up reading a book, or helping his wife hang her curtains (more on that in a minute). Pat, a former nurse, now spends much of her time with her grandchildren. The sharp eye Pat has for home decorating can be seen throughout the house. Pat handmade every curtain in the house. but notes they would not be up if it were not for the hanging skills of her husband. She also personally furnished and decorated every room, always mixing luxury with the warmth and country feel of Vermont. Thanks to Pat and Art, hundreds of people every year enjoy outstanding vacations in the Mount Snow area that they remember for a lifetime.

I stayed here for a ski weekend with a group of friends, and I couldn't imagine a better place to stay.
The house is massive. The main area with an open kitchen, dining room and living room with warm fireplace is a great spot for everyone to hang out. We cooked and ate meals together (there are plenty of folding chairs so more can squeeze in around the table), and spent most of our time in the big room. The kitchen had a good assortment of pots and pans which made it easy to cook big meals.
The hot tub is hot, and larger than I expected, a great place to relax on the late night. We couldn't figure out how to work the sauna, but that was fine because again, we had the hot tub. The game room with pool table is also fun. There are so many beds and futons etc -- easy to see how it could sleep 18 without anyone having to be on an air mattress.
Everything was clean and tidy, from the bathrooms to the linens, and there were spare pillows and blankets stacked all around the house for anyone sleeping on the sofa sleepers or such.
The house is less than five minutes driving to Mount Snow ski area, as you'll see from the house's deck. So close and convenient. You could walk to the ski area if you were so inclined.
Greg and Pat were excellent hosts-via-email; they answered all my questions promptly and mailed detailed house instructions and directions for our drive up.
All in all, can't imagine a better place to stay for a friend reunion. Five stars!
This house was perfect for my family this fall. Stayed for a long weekend. There was plenty of space for everyone. Kids just loved the game room. The house was very tidy and the kitchen well stocked for our cooking adventures. Pat and Greg are great hosts. Highly recommend.
I spent a fall weekend with my family at this house: It was fantastic! We’ve been in the area to ski, and I always wanted to visit when we’d have more time to discover the neighborhood. This was the perfect home-base to do it from. The house is luxurious, yet so comfortable. We cooked lavish breakfasts in the mornings, and ate on the deck. The view of Mount Snow is amazing, and we’re going to try to go back to see the foliage. We ran around during the days, and it was so nice to come back to such a beautiful house and relax with a glass of wine. We played games and watched movies in the great room, and when the kids needed a break from us, they ventured downstairs to the air hockey table. A late-night stop in the hot tub was the perfect way to wind down the day. Can’t wait to go back!
Enjoyed a summer weekend with friends at Pat's house. We wanted to get away and have a fun weekend together, and the house was perfect for this. Everyone had a great time. Can't beat the great room. Perfect spot for cooking and playing games. Grilling on the deck was awesome too. Looking forward to coming back with everyone next summer.
We rented this house for our annual spring girl’s weekend. The house was perfect. Spacious, clean, and very well equipped, we could not have asked for more.
This home would be perfect for a family, a group of friends or couple that likes a lot of space. The home will have everything you might need.
Thanks to the Ferro's for renting us their home. We will be back!
