Charming villa in quiet neighbourhood with a breathtaking view of the coast
Charming villa built by the politician Emile Hugue who chose the location for its breathtaking view of the entire south coast from the Estérel to Cap Ferrat. At the heart of the villa, the living area is spacious and well lit with access to the round office, a provençal kitchen, the largest bedroom and the terrace. The three bedrooms upstairs all have the incredible view and have private bathrooms. At the swimming pool, you'll be able to enjoy the large summer kitchen.
The villa ' Le Claoux ' was among the first houses built on the road and the former mayor Émile Hugues had chosen the land for its elevated location offering possibly the best views in the area. From here, you can see the sunrise behind Cap-Ferrat and enjoy the sunset behind l’Esterel. The house burst with Provençal charm and offers the possibility of relaxing in peace with the magnificent view of the of the medieval village of Vence and the mediterranean sea
The house has a fully equipped Provençal kitchen, the atypical round office room, the master bedroom (a double bed and a single bed) with an ensuite bathroom, the laundry (washing machine, tumble-dryer), a lounge room with television and a sofa bed and finally a big and bright lliving-dining room with access to the terrace . You can go down to the swimming pool from the covered terrace.
The view from the swimming pool remains open without feeling too exposed thanks to the olive rees, and established garden. Here you can also cook and enjoy your meal in the summer kitchen with the gas plancha and its own fridge and dishwasher.
I am available to help you throughout your journey, and will welcome you upon your arrival to show you the house. If you need anything, I can help you out.
I have been living in Saint-Paul de Vence for 16 years, and could you give some advice about good places to visit, not only in the village, but Cannes, Nice, Antibes and the villages in the surrounding area.
You will need a car to get to the house.
The property has a cat which is used to living around the house.
In the village Vence you will find restaurants, cafés and markets with a fishmonger's shop, a butcher and various farmers of the area.
Nearby the center you can visit the Matisse chapel. If art interests you, visit the medieval village Saint-Paul de Vence where the famous Maeght foundation and other art galleries are. Tourrettes sur Loup is another beautiful medieval village which is about 10 minutes from the center of Vence.
You can go to the center of Nice in 30 minutes or the new open-air Polygon Riviera shopping mall in 10 minutes. Antibes and the Picasso museum are 25 minutes away.
In winter, the closest ski resort (Gréolière) is only 1 hour away, and the bigger ski resorts are 1h45h away (Valberg, Auron and Isola 2000) - just close enough to go skiing during the day and come back at night.
I would recommend booking a driver or getting an Uber.
To come from the airport by bus, you can take bus (€1.5) 400 or 94 from the terminal, in direction of Vence then get off at the last stop, which is in Vence, then you will need to get a taxi or an Uber. A bus day pass is €5. At the terminal you can also get the bus to other destinations such as the Cagnes sur Mer train station where you can get the train to other big cities such as Cannes, Antibes and Monaco (and Nice of course).
I would encourage you to go to the tourism office to get more information, and even travel schedules for busses. Located at 8 Place du Grand Jardin (See their website) and open everyday from 9 to 19.
If you are going to travel by bus and use a smartphone with Internet abroad (or for planning purposes), I would recommend using the app called 'Transit' for busses and trams. For trains I recommend 'Trainline EU’
I can help you to organize a pick-up from the airport by local taxi at about 50 €, which will be cheaper than the taxis at the terminal.

An amazing week in this ideally located property.
We were absolutely subdued by the charm of the house, views and amenities. The villa must have one of the most beautiful views in Vence where we can see the sunrise and sunset. It is beautifully furnished and very confortable and cool even in this heat. We enjoyed so much the pool area with the wonderfully equipped summer kitchen and large pool with the great slide and diving board. The garden is beautifully landscaped. We recommend this villa highly for a dream holiday.
