Beautiful Sidney by the Sea
Beautiful condo with partial ocean views; exactly as described. Clean and well appointed. Some communication issues regarding check-in but I believe these have been resolved by the owner. Would recommend!
Loved this property!!!
We felt right at home from the moment we stepped in the door! This lovely, spacious condo was clean, quiet and well equipped and maintained! We loved the location, views, historical gardens below and being a short walk to the ocean! We highly recommend this property and hope to return one day soon!!!
Wonderful and relaxing!
A splendid place to stay! We met family for a weekend in the area, and then time for just us. Having Van Isle Marina just there was perfect for family boating in. So very comfortable and just the right size. Thank you for our terrific holiday!
Quite, beautiful and clean!!
Would not hesitate to come back to this property.
A pleasant all around surprise in Sidney.
The property is well kept and in a nice location. Our stay was very pleasant and we felt sorry to leave. Very comfortable and well equipped. Sidney was an added treat with wonderful ocean view restaurants and walkways. We enjoyed our selves very much.
Comfortable, spacious condo in renovated hotel by the bay
My wife and I stayed at Phyllis and Brian's Miraloma suite for five nights over Labor Day. The location is great for a "getaway" - minutes from the ferry, a straight shot to downtown Sidney, twenty minutes or so to Victoria, and plenty of touristy activities within easy driving distance.
The unit is well-equipped, complete with user manuals for all of the appliances (except the toaster - hint: the buttons are "bagel", "frozen", and "cancel" - thanks Google!). We didn't end up cooking but everything we would have needed was ready at hand.
The unit has high-ceilings throughout. If you're a tall man, you'll really appreciate being able to walk around this unit without danger of brushing the ceiling. The furnishings were comfortable and the lighting plentiful. My wife really appreciated the free-standing air conditioner.
A drawer under the coffee table contained a variety of books, DVD's, music CD's, and board games. (The main lobby also has a bookcase with "community" books and DVD's to borrow.)
The TV fare was "basic cable". Local news channels and, interestingly, local-to-Seattle stations. We kept the TV's off for the most part, so didn't try the Blu-ray players.
Note: The balcony door lock is tricky - Pull UP on the handle, then turn the knob to lock or unlock.
The bedroom is roughly the same size as the living room, making it a very spacious sleeping space. Extra towels and linens were available in drawers at the base of the bed. The bed is a high, thick King-size mattress. Again, a tall man's dream. It's a soft mattress - If you prefer a very firm mattress, then you may need to take that into account. One down-side: my short-bodied wife found that she couldn't just jump up onto the bed; she needed to use a hassock as a step up.
Like the rest of the condo, the washroom is spacious with a huge soaking tub and full-sized shower, with a seat built-in. Here again, a tall person will love the high shower head and anyone who lives in an area with water-conserving shower heads will appreciate the full-force water pressure at the Miraloma. There was never a shortage of hot water.
Note: as with the bed, the high shower head was a challenge for a shorter person; I had to adjust the shower head for my wife.
Despite many other visitors for the holiday, the building was so quiet that we might easily have believed ourselves to be the only guests.
Overall, we had a pleasant, relaxing stay and would happily rent this unit again. Two thumbs-up!
