We have enjoyed every minute in your lovely home! Everything about our time here and in Whitefish has been wonderful. Your home has met our every need; all of the needed amenities and a most beautiful view. We certainly hope to visit again someday, maybe with our grandchild.
We just completed a fabulous winter wonderland 10 night stay in this charming farmhouse. A real winter holiday with 40 inches of new snow. A great location for jumping off spot for our family 0f 6 (4 adults and 2 teens) to skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling. The house was very comfortable, clean, well-stocked and everything worked. The hot tub was awesome off the front porch with stunning mountain views in the snow and watching the moon rise from inside the hot tub will be some amazing memories. Huge thank you to our host Pady who kept our driveway plowed and who respected our privacy during our stay. When we return to Whitefish, MT. we would love the opportunity to stay at Lofty Acres again :-).
This house was good for us, in terms of space and comfort. The beds were incredibly comfortable. It had a kind of cottage charm. It's an approximately 10 minute drive from downtown whitefish, and on a busy hill day, took us about 50 minutes to get to the top of the ski hill.
We didn't realize the owner lived in the suite above the garage right next to the house, which was a surprise and felt like it should have been communicated / advertised, specifically because the ad stated it was a home on 3 acres. It seemed like it was being advertised as more of a private area.
We stayed in this house with 5 adults, 1 teenager and 1 child over the Christmas holidays and would definitely recommend it. The location was perfect - close to Whitefish, Kalispell, and the ski hill yet not right in town. Very quiet and peaceful. The house was clean and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen for cooking. The hot tub was very clean. We appreciated the large area by the entry way/kitchen for laying out wet ski clothes and ski boots to dry. The one bed was almost too small for our teenager but all in all was a great experience😊
This was the perfect house for us (two adults and one pre-teen). The house was very clean (I'm very picky) and well appointed with nothing lacking. The hot tub was a blessing after a hard day of fun. We used it every evening. We felt very comfortable here right away. The location is very close to all the activities in Whitefish and to Glacier National Park. Pady is a wealth of information about Glacier hiking, so take advantage of her knowledge. We took her advice and hiked to Iceberg Lake, ten miles round trip but totally worth every minute. I would also recommend zip lining at Big Mountain...what a thrill! Overall, we were really happy with the house and would recommend it to friends and family.
The front porch and the view over grain fields, with mountains in the distance - that's the glory of this house. I needed 4 bedrooms for grown-up family, and there aren't many houses out there. This one is convenient to the airport, Whitefish, and Kalispell while feeling out in the country. You DO need a car. The house is well equipped, and the owner quickly supplied anything missing. The only drawback was access to the bathroom from the downstairs bedroom required me to walk through the living room and dining room. The second bathroom serves the three bedrooms upstairs. However, my grown-up children spent most evenings on the porch and in the hot-tub, and then were asleep in the mornings. The house, sitting up on the hill, always has a breeze.
I recommend this house, and would return here again.
My wife and I rented the house for 1 week and the owner, Pady, is super nice and helpful. She gave us some suggestions for things to do, especially hiking trails, and we appreciated that.
It was warm for Montana, in the low 90's, and the upstairs can stay somewhat warm. There is a downstairs bedroom that we used that remained cooler. There is no air conditioning in the house but likely most weeks it would not be needed. The only minor drawback would be that the house is located above what I would call a "well traveled road". If you want absolute quiet then the occasional road noise may not be for you. Lastly, know that Pady has a small house just to the side and back of the rental. She is often not there and stays out of the way. However, some may be looking for more privacy. We were able to get to most area attractions in less than an hour, unless going to the other side of Glacier. Overall, a very nice home and experience. Thanks.
