Picture does not dothis propoerty justice

  • 5 of 5

We just returned froma week in the Cape and this property made our stay amazing. It's a short two minute walk to the beach. The rooms are large with a very comfortable kitchen and living room. The ceiling fans made air conditioning unnecessary.

The photo does not show the mastersuite addition upstairs. It has a king size bed and a master bath. With all of the windows open, it's like sleeping among the treetops.

Our family of three and our friends made a total of eight people and we had more than enough room. Two new patios with tables and chairs also offer outdoor eating possibilities.

Be sure to allow cleaning time when you want to leave. She currently does not charge a deposit or cleaning fee which helps keep the cost down. She even had a box of saltwater taffy waiting for us.

This is the happiest we've ever been with a rental!!

Pet Friendly Yarmouth Charmer

  • 4 of 5

We just returned from a one-month stay at this charming, perfectly located, three (3) bedroom/ two (2) bath cottage, in West Yarmouth, Massachusetts. The cottage is located two (2) blocks from Colonial Acres Beach, and ten to fifteen minutes driving time from all necessities (Starbucks, Whole Foods, CVS, Hyannis ferry docks, etc.). Prior to arriving at the property, the owner was super responsive to all questions.

The living room (with fireplace) was extremely cozy, with a large, flat-screen t.v., and very comfortable couches. With wood floors throughout the cottage, there were no dust-related allergy issues. The master bedroom (on the upstairs level), with king-size bed and en suite bathroom would have rated a perfect score - except for the size of the shower, which would not comfortably accommodate a person of height or size. Although neither my spouse nor I are persons of size, the shower was not of sufficient dimensions to allow for a comfortable shower.

The two (2) bedrooms, on the cottage's main level, were of good size and had more than ample closet space and drawer space. The downstairs bedrooms have access to the downstairs bathroom, which has a tub and in-tub shower of normal size. All three of the bedrooms had window a/c units that functioned very well, when needed.

The kitchen provided more than sufficient preparation space, and the gas stove was a distinct pleasure (we are used to an electric stove-top in our home residence). Although the kitchen could have had a few more alternative pots and pans, we made due with what was provided.

The owners are very good about providing paper towels, toilet paper, linens, towels, cleaning supplies, at least enough to make sure you do not need to run to the store the first day you arrive. Also provided were beach chairs, beach towels, a large beach bag, beach umbrellas, all of which allowed us to enjoy the two-block close beach that much more.

The basement, where the washer and dryer are located, could be better lit.

The front yard had lawn furniture and a fire pit, which, although we didn't take advantage of it, provides a wonderful setting to sit with others in the evenings and enjoy the great weather, that is Cape Cod in the summer.

If you are looking for a comfortable rental residence, in a great setting and perfect location, you should definitely consider this West Yarmouth charmer.

Great for it's proximity to the beach!

  • 4 of 5

The highlight of this house is that it really is just a few short blocks away from a nice quiet beach. The walk there was easy and short, through a nice neighborhood with quiet streets. The neighborhood is dog friendly - lots of dogs! Although, dogs are not allowed on the beach. There is a small, free parking lot at the beach - so, if you had to drive you could. The beach had lots of shells on it, although very nice for shell collections and decorating sand castles, I wish we brought water shoes to protect our feet! The rocks on the edge of the beach were perfect for fishing. We saw a few kayaks daily in the little inlet under the walkway to the beach - seemed like a calm, easy ride. The beach was never crowded and the waves were very gentle to non-existent. There was a port-a-potty in the parking lot at the beach, which was nice in case you couldn't make it back to the house in time! The layout of house itself was great for our vacation because we traveled with our two small children and their grandparents. Grandparents had their own little suite upstairs, kind of separate from the rest of the house - they could wake up early and quietly access the kitchen or escape out of the side door in the morning to let us sleep in. The open floor plan between the kitchen, dining room, and living room were great for spending time together as a group. Nice large dining table for big meals! The kitchen is nicely updated. The gas grill was great for our little BBQs. The downstairs bedroom wing of the house - hallway, bathroom, and two bedrooms - was a little outdated, but what I would expect from a beach house: not super clean or new. The outdoor shower was great for rinsing off after a day at the beach. Unfortunately, the gas fire pit did not work while we were there, but the owners are aware and should be fixing it soon. Overall, great location for a stay at the Cape!

Great beach house!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our week. The home was clean and very comfortable. The kitchen was awesome. Lots of space for our family. We LOVED the master suite on the second floor! Our own private getaway! Walking distance to the beach. My husband and my son went fishing every morning! I wish I had stayed for two weeks! Thanks for a great week.

Best Cape rental yet!

  • 5 of 5

We have been renting houses and going to the Cape for 8 years now - this was by far the best house yet! Short walk to beach, plenty of sleeping room (and air conditioning!), and we could bring our dog - what more could we ask for?

A Little Piece of Heaven - West Yarmouth, MA

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at this property for 4 nights (27-30 May 2008). It was much more than I ever imagined. It was a beautiful location, just a minute walk to the ocean, yet close enough to Rt. 28 to get you to the places you wanted to go to. The neighborhood was peaceful and quiet, yet the neighbors that were around were very friendly. The layout of the house was very airy and spacious with oversized rooms and lots of windows. All the amenities that you would need were there and easily accessible. The property was very clean and well-maintained. The owner was very accommodating and friendly and easy to deal with. Also, no security deposit or pet fees were charged. I have been raving about the trip and the great experience I had with this rental. This was the first time that I rented using the homeaway site, and it was a very positive thing. I will definitely return to this home again in the near future if it is available during my timeframe. This place was definitely a little piece of Heaven in West Yarmouth, MA.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the great review. We love our second home as much as you do. It is by far one of the best neighborhoods on the Cape. Friendly, safe and close to the beach. Hope your furry friends had a great time too!!
