Good location, apartment just OK.
Quirky apartment - with some problems. One double bed located on first floor, other 2 bedrooms located in 2nd floor, kitchen and living on 3rd floor. Keep this in mind if you have small children. Our family of four stayed here for 5 nights in July. Location was very nice as we could walk almost anywhere with ease.
Pros - location, cleanliness, decent sheets, kitchen and living area quite nice
Cons - On a very busy street, next to a VERY busy and loud bus stop. I was a bit concerned with security with so many people out in front of the apartment and could see straight into the first floor (there are no window coverings) which left me uncomfortable. Especially since one of the bedrooms used by my 11 year old was on the first floor, by herself. Washer and dryer was broken so that was hugely inconvenient for us. Parking space is small - we had a large SUV and had trouble getting it into the space and it was sticking out onto the sidewalk. Noisy - bring earplugs to sleep with! Bring soap, and essentials. We were provided 1 cleaning tab for the dishwasher and hardly any dish soap. We had to go out and buy kitchen supplies and toilet paper. It's those little things that are irritating when you are on vacation.....
I want to clarify something. As soon as you’ve arrived, you were not satisfied with barely any of the features of the apartment. We decided to offer you a discount of 150$ because the washing machine was broken. However, you were still not satisfied: the parking lot was too small for large SUV although there was a private paying car park right in front of the apartment, there was also no alarm system in the apartment (but no mention of it were never made) and you though that was unacceptable…As we were unable to respond to all your requests, we’ve offered you a full refund of the rental fees. You’ve declined the offer and decided to take the 150$ discount…
PS: The apartment is not located on a busy street, but it is still in the Old Quebec and the bus is non-operational during the night.
Couldn't have been better!
What a nice place! Doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside it is quite new and contemporary and comfortable. We were a family of four including two teenagers who each got their own room. Kitchen and living room were very nice. Our host Benedicte could not have been more pleasant or helpful. She met us at the place, showed us everything and gave us good advice. When we had trouble with the cable/internet she came over on a Sunday evening and worked on it with the cable company for several hours to get it fixed! With two teenagers you can imagine our relief at getting the cable and internet working. The apartment is right in the old city on the lower part. It is about a 100 yard walk to the farmer's market which is open every day. AND the big bonus, a covered, reserved parking spot right by the front door! Only reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is that the place is fairly expensive. However, I would definitely return.
Perfect place to stay
Very clean and tons of room for our family of five. The host met us and gave us a few recommendations of things to do in the area. She also left us some wonderful coffee, tea and croissants for our breakfast. Perfect location, right at the bottom of a small hill that takes you right up to the old city.
There was a slight problem with the washing machine, which she took care of right away and offered to reimburse us if we needed to use a laundromat.
I would highly recommend
Perfect location! Very clean . Would rent again :))
Wonderful living space, walking distance to restaurants, shopping and attractions!
This apartment was perfect for our family with 2 adults and 2 kids-- it is updated, clean, and had everything we needed. 3 Bedrooms, washer/dryer, full kitchen, parking spot. Best of all is the location-- the Marche is right across the street (stocked up on fresh fruit, prosciutto, baguettes, pastries and cheese), walking distance to lots of restaurants, chateau Frontenac (fun to watch the street performers out front), shopping, the Citadelle's changing of the guards, Place Royale and the river. We spent 4 nights here and had plenty to do. There was even a free circus performance nearby that was amazing, like cirque de Soleil -- such a treat! Easy access to the freeway. Genevieve was responsive to messages, and the English-speaking host Benedicte was lovely and helpful! We would definitely stay here again and recommend this to our friends!
Perfect girls getaway
