This 200 year old south facing farmhouse has bags of traditional character. It's been restored by its local owners without in any way disturbing its country feel. It is genuinely rustic, both inside and out. A big, spacious 6 bedroom house, it is decorated with wooden furniture and trinkets from days gone by, in keeping with the old tiled floors and high, beamed ceilings.
Homely enough in its timeless, rural simplicity, there are three floors. The kitchen on the ground floor is, of course, simple and rustic in style but fully equipped. There’s also a dining and living area, washroom, main bathroom and a double bedroom (queen size)with en suite shower on this floor. On the first floor there are four fully air-conditioned bedrooms, three with en suite shower and three have balconies. Three of the spacious bedrooms are furnished with double(queen size) beds and the fourth bedroom has two twin beds. Going up a traditional spiral staircase there is an air conditioned double bedroom with separate shower and a terrace overlooking the pool .
Outside, there's a patio and a 24 x 15 ft south facing swimming pool. It's a tranquil location and you have loungers for sunny relaxation around the pool all year round. There is also a BBQ, shower and outside dining area for alfresco dining in the warm summer days and an herb garden to add fresh flavor to your meals.

I cannot say enough about Marygrace and her farmhouse to give it justice!
Behind the simplest of green doors lies opulence and enough family space for twice our party size - there were 9 of us in total-including a baby, three generations of family. The villa is huge and the pictures just do not show that. The bedrooms were well appointed- all with an en-suite bathroom, everyone felt they had the best room - so no fighting amongst the children. This is a bonus for any travelling family. The rooftop terrace has amazing views. We had to drag the children from the house because they spent so much time in the pool! The huge farmhouse table in the well appointed kitchen was the focal point of our visit with many wonderful family moments made on an evening over fresh food and games.
The location was central to everything in Gozo. The bus was very nearby but we did find it much easier to work with our large party by renting a jeep to get around. We arrived on Easter morning so had to shop at lidl - which was walkable - but I truly recommend that anyone who comes here uses the local butcher, baker and shops. The locals have much fresher food for a fraction of the cost- and it seems logical to support local economy as well. The fresh bread each morning was out of this world! Everyone of the townsfolk were as friendly and welcoming as Marygrace.
Marygrace is wonderfully welcoming and thoughtful, the welcome pack was a lovely gesture and the information she left for us - including a Maltese cookbook which we DID use, was so very considerate.
Thank you Marygrace for facilitating such an awesome family retreat. We WILL be seeing you again!
Our holiday at your villa was amazing. It is such a beautiful relaxing home to be in.
The children especially loved your pool. I loved the roof terrace and the sky at night being a star gazer!! Also we loved being able to relax and eat by the pool, cook our own food in the spacious kitchen - dining area and outside on the BBQ. The local butchers & shop was so handy providing lots to eat and cook. We could have stayed many more weeks there easily!! Having a car made seeing the island much easier because even though routes for buses are straight forward they are mostly hourly between places which ok is possible to cope with but for example seeing the sunset at the Azure window was much easier having the car to then stay and go on the boat trip & eat at the restaurant. The Cittadel is a must to visit as are many of the town squares & churches on the island. You can spend a week just visiting the coast and enjoying the different types of beaches too. A restaurant I'd recommend is Cafe Jubilee in Victoria - small place but you can ring and book. Their home cooked food is delicious!! After every day of seeing the island and then coming home to your lovely villa made the perfect holiday for us. It was like coming home. Hotels are just not the same. Thank you for a lovely holiday. We so hope to be able to come back!!
Wow- what a beautiful place
Today we are very sad to leave the farmhouse after a beautiful week! I cannot recommend this place enough. It's so spacious and full of character. Mary Grace and her husband are two of the most friendly people, thanks to them I have fallen in love with Gozo. It's conveniently placed to local shops and sports bars and a lovely restaurant. The farmhouse itself is so well equipped and very clean. The fact the pool is checked every morning before you wake up is fantastic! I don't want to leave but really hope to return one day. Thank you for having us 😁
Stunning property wonderful owner
Mary Grace kindly organised airport transfers which went smoothly and was at the property to greet us and show us around, the welcome pack was most helpful as well as the the map she provided which highlighted the local shops including the bakery selling fresh bread. Gozo is very peaceful and the locals are friendly.
Beautiful farmhouse with amazing garden
We had an amazing stay at Ta' Annie Farmhouse! We stayed here with 14 young adults for a week, but I can imagine it would be a lovely place to stay with family. Mary Grace is a very kind host. She organised a transfer from and to the airport for us and explained us everything we needed to know about Xewkija. Throughout the week she was able to organise more transfers for us for a very reasonable price. Smaller supermarkets and a bigger Lidl are on walking distance from the house. The village Xewkija is very nice and calming, and it had a beautiful church. The capital of Gozo, Victoria, is not far away and a nice place to visit. We even travelled to Malta's capital multiple times, which took a little bit more time but was not too bad.
The house was even more beautiful than on the pictures, and a lot bigger too. We were able to fit 14 persons in it without it being too cramped. We had 5 two-person rooms and one 4-person room. Inside the house the temperature was not too hot, which was a relief. The big staircase to the first floor is beautiful, especially at night with all the lights. The roof-terrace had the most amazing view and we even watched some fireworks. The barbecue worked great. Mary Grace was kind enough to leave us some milk etc. when we arrived. All the facilities were there, even a coffee machine. The pool is amazing and bigger than we expected. There were a lot of pool-beds available to lie in the hot Maltese sun. In the afternoons there was a lot of shadow in the garden, which was a relief for us white Dutchies. The neighborhood is very quiet, with only a rooster in the morning bothering us. All in all, we had an amazing stay and we can't thank Mary Grace enough for her kindness!
A Little Taste of Paradise In The Heart of Gozo
My partner and I have just returned from a lovely stay at Ta' Annie Farmhouse and it was the most relaxing and rejuvenating holiday ever! If you are looking for somewhere to stay in the Mediterranean that is beautiful, tranquil, spacious, clean, close to local amenities and provides total privacy so you can sunbathe naked or topless then this is the perfect location.
Our host Mary Grace was attentive to our needs before departure and arranged a chauffer service which delivered us from the airport to the front door without us having to break a sweat. Due to my walking disability, we decided to sleep in the luxurious ground floor bedroom with en-suite and found it easily accessible to all main areas of the house. The garden was well equipped with BBQ and sun loungers, and the private swimming pool was clean.
The farmhouse is very well maintained and beautifully designed with huge limestone bricks which keep the temperature cool inside even when it's hot outside. There are lots of little trinkets and antiques to admire as well.
My only regret is that we didn't stay longer... but next time we will!
