Overall this apartment was in a great location to walk to everything but the Vatican. The owner arranged for us transportation from the train station and also to the cruise port upon our departure. There were four of us staying here and we were quite comfortable. The one bedroom did not have a closet so some of our luggage had to stay in the living room. We were met at the door and given a tour of the apartment. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
We had a wonderful time in Rome and our stay at the Trevi apartment. The two bedroom apartment was clean and modern yet the wooden beams made it feel we were in a Swiss chalet. Georgia and Alessandro were very helpful with suggesting restaurants and even arranged transportation for us. I would absolutely recommend this apartment to anyone wanting to be in a prime Rome location.
Our host organized our rides from the train station and to the airport which was tremendous! He gave us a tour of the place and was available when needed.
The strengths are: location, air conditioning, nice size beds.
The place however is quite small for 4 adults to share. We chose to eat out as a result. The shower head was quite low and flimsy. It fell off numerous times even after it was fixed. Shower curtain should be changed as well.
The ceiling is quite low too.
Very nice apartment located just a block from the Trevi Fountain.
I really wanted to love this place but alas, it needs maintenance in order to meet my family's expectations. I will start with the positive by saying that the location was awesome. We never took a taxi except to Vatican City. We walked to all of the other sights, shops and restaurants. The building was run down a bit but nothing terrible. Also worth noting was that Allesandro and Georgia were lovely and welcoming and helped us with a transfer.
Now for the not so positive. First off, there is no way 6 people could stay here comfortably. We were a family of 4 and it was tight. The bedrooms and sitting rooms were small but well appointed and clean. The a/c worked well enough. But the bathroom. Oh the bathroom. That shower was nasty!! If I could post pics, I'd show the mold all over the wall and the curtain. I barely wanted me or my children to use it. Plus, when we turned off the water, the shower head fell off the stand and hit us in the head until we devised a system to prevent it. The kitchen was old, the coffee pot had mold, the fridge barely kept our beers cold and pieces fell off the cabinetry during our stay. In fact, door handles feel off as we opened the door and the toilet paper holder did the same. They have a great place and really need to spend some time on it to make it rentable.
For us, the most difficult set back was the washing machine. We were on a two week and four city trip. With kids. I was counting on a functioning machine to take care of my family and it was specifically an amenity I was seeking when considering rentals. We got a few loads in but the spin cycle barely removed the water and there was no dryer. Well, it then broke. And flooded the kitchen. Our request for repair went unanswered until it was too late. I can see from previous reviews that it was problematic in the past. Again, I will say, if they spent time and a little money on the place, it could be terrific.
