River House

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at "The River House" in New Braunfels many times and found that it works well for a large family or a college mini-reunion. It is close to the unique town of Gruene and has many water activities for the young ones. A nice dock and three kayaks are provided. It is always clean and up to date and the owner is charming. After 19 years we still return regularly.

River Float Weekend Get Away

  • 5 of 5

This is the 2nd time that a huge group of us stayed in this house. It perfectly accommodates 22 people. The yard is a fantastic hangout with plenty of space for yard games, grilling, and lounging. The house is very close to several companies that you can go through to float the river. Maria is a helpful host and we will definitely consider staying here for a 3rd time next year!

Wedding weekend

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed the house and property. The floor plan was a great layout for the group we had staying. We loved the floating dock on the river and the beautiful backyard area. The bridal party had hair and makeup done in the living room overlooking the river even while other guests were present without interruption. The experience was excellent overall.

Memorial Weekend Family getaway

  • 5 of 5

Family of 14 stayed over Memorial Weekend. We loved it! The grass was green, the floating dock served a great hang out area, we floated on tubes, used the kayak's that were on the premises. We had a wonderful time inside and outside of the home. It is very inviting and the rooms/bathrooms were very clean! We had plenty of room to spread out and be comfortable. Outside there was a canopy that seated up to 20, we had 2 fire pit area's...which was great for the s'mores! You will not regret staying here.....The owner is very approachable and sweet!

Choice reunion site

  • 5 of 5

My extended family had a wonderful time. The kitchen was a big consideration because we prepared all our meals. It was fully equipped. A major HEB grocery was convenient and ordered our special requests. The house was fully equipped, comfortable, and designed for indoor gatherings and outdoor activities. Everyone was happy with their room.

We used the premises fully: outdoor S'mores at the fire pit, grilling and smoking foods, horseshoes, and a pinata for a child's birtday party. The floating dock was a highlight, always occupied for early morning fishing, later swimming, canoeing, kayaking---we maxxed it all. It was our destination after tubing down the refresingly cold Quadlupe River. We had a large wading pool on the patio for the little ones.

The site was convenient to many area attractions.

We are all still savoring the happy memories. We are planning to return next summer. The singing birds, many trees, good breeze and outdoor seating with the river right before us made our summer memorable.

Maria Holbrook is a delightful heart-stealer who truly delights in making us welcome. She is of a special quality...the best provider we have found.

Family Reunion

  • 5 of 5

This house is perfect for a large group who wants to enjoy the river. We have a large family vacation every year and this house fulfilled all our needs. Maria is a very kind person and she worked very hard to make sure the house was clean and ready for our stay. The yard is beautiful and our family enjoyed the stay. Thanks Maria!
