MCA # 1271. Our place is a charming beach house with lots of wood features: oak floors, pine panelling and cedar cathedral ceilings with skylights. There are two private decks separated by a gazebo with a large spa/hot tub that can easily accommodate six people. The side deck has patio furniture and a new grill perfect for barbecue.
The private, master bedroom has high ceilings and a new, king sized bed with new, excellent mattress and linens, and an adjoining (external) full bathroom. The second and third bedrooms are on the opposite side of the great room/dining room, making it easy for two families to share the house. The second bedroom has a queen sized bed with an Englander mattress (and internal bathroom) and the third bedroom has a trundle bed (two singles) each with a very comfortable mattress. Both the second and third bedrooms face out to the forest.
The house is located at the south end of Manzanita, a quiet residential town with a few great restaurants and shops. We are only half block from one of the most spectacular secluded beaches on Oregon's North Coast. It is bordered on one end by Neahakanie Mountain and on the other by a State Park. The beach ends in a spit and Neahkannie Bay which creates a whole different water landscape than the mighty Pacific Ocean. On the much quieter bay, there is crabbing, seal watching and kayaking.
The house is a 15 minute walk (beach or street) from the town of Manzanita, which is very much in the public eye these days. In 2005, there were articles in Sunset and Coastal Living about this sweet fun town.
I'm interested in making your transaction smooth, and making sure that you enjoy your vacation at our place.
Spencer Thal purchased this house in 1996
Gorgeous, cozy, quiet space to relax and reconnect, phenomenal hot tub, steps to the beach, great customer service.
Look at the size of that hot tub!
I took my wife for weekend. Peaceful, relaxing with a short jaunt to beach. The house is cozy, it just had a great energy, all the wood decor is really nice. . Really it was just perfect, awesome location in a quaint little town. After reading a couple of the many books in the house we stopped and bought a bunch of books on way home. Reminded us how much we just bombard ourselves constantly with noise these days and that we need more peace and quiet at our own place. We just came home feeling close and rejuvenated. Thank you so much for sharing your place with us.
The house was exactly what we needed for our vacation, perfectly accommodated two couples and two small kids. We particularly enjoyed the art work on the walls and the selection of very interesting books in the book shelf. The little nook in the front bedroom was perfect for my laptop computer, and the wifi worked well.
The house was clean and cozy.. as advertised. It was an easy walk to the beach, and everything was ready and prepared when we arrived. No complaints.
We stayed here for July 4th weekend. Cute, charming house and close to the beach for fireworks, playing with the dogs, etc. Would definitely stay here again.
First, the owner was great--I accidentally chose the wrong check in day and we showed up a day earlier than expected, and he was able to quickly contact the housekeeper to get us in early. The house is only 4 houses from the beach (or from the trail over the small dunes that lead to the big wide beach, anyway) on a quiet dead end street. It's pretty cool to be able to walk on the beach to town. The beach is HUGE. It's also very well located if you want to drive and visit the great beaches at Ecola State Park or Cannon Beach. The house is very comfortable and well stocked. There are books, puzzles and games, and the docking station was great--we could then listed to baseball games or NPR via our phone. The king bed was nice and the couch was very comfortable. The wifi worked well. The owner has a binder full of advice for restaurants, beaches, etc. I would stay again.
This was a great get-away for me, my 20 month only and my parents. The layout was perfect and comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped and there were plenty of games and jig-saw puzzles to keep us all entertained. The beach is very close and it's about a 15 min walk to town. There were great beach chairs and toys. The beds were amazing and we all slept like babies.
Manzanita is only a 90 minute drive from Portland, Oregon.
