Great Family Times at Sleeping Bear Lodge

  • 5 of 5

We spent a long weekend at Sleeping Bear Lodge in early March to enjoy the Snowboarding and Skiing at nearby Pine Mountain in Iron Mountain. My three kids loved the cabin and the pool table made for some competitive family fun. The view from the windows are fantastic and the seclusion is second to none.

We will be Back!!

Thanks Rick!

Owner's Response: We are glad you enjoyed your winter weekend! We would love to have you back in the summer or fall when your kids can enjoy trout fishing in the lake, hiking, and bear watching. BTW The golf course at Pine Mountain is a 5 star course. Thanks for the review!

We stay at the lodge a couple times a year and absolutely love it! We come with my family and sometimes the kids bring friends because there’s plenty of room. My husband also has a men’s group come up once a year. They enjoy shooting and fishing and hiking. We also enjoy those things and just the peace and quiet. There is a lot of wildlife to see and hear. The lodge is so welcoming and Joe and Rachel are very helpful if you have any questions. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to just relax and getaway from the city life!

It was lovely and had everything we needed.

We were so happy to be at this beautiful property for the weekend. It had plenty of beds for all of us, and they were very comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we could possibly have needed. It was so nice to use your paddle boat and canoe on your lake, the kids loved it! Thanks for sharing.

We loved it!

You honestly do not need to bring anything to this lodge except your clothes and food/drink! Everything is provided and I mean everything! All kitchens supplies, crockpot, pots and pans, seasonings/spices, all dishes and glasses and bakeware. All bathroom supplies like towels, bath wash, shampoo/conditioner. Super comfy beds. So many comfy chairs and couches! Multiple outdoor eating table/chairs, plus indoor dining table. There is a fit pit with plenty of wood to burn and marshmellow forks provided. Outdoor games like bocce ball & croquet. There is a paddle boat, canoe and row boat. A pier to fish off of. Walking trails all over the place! The caretakers are close by if you need anything. Rachel took us by ATV to the bear stand and baited for bear. We saw a mama bear with 2 cubs! If it rains there are board games, cards, Uno, checkers, tic tac toe, books and a pool table. There is so much room to spread out should you need a break from your family/friends ☺ this cabin has everything, and if it isn't there, then you don't need it!! There was not one thing I went to look for that I didn't find.

We had a death in the family where some people could not make the trip and Rick worked with us to refund the difference. He was super kind and wonderful to work with during the entire process as this was our first VRBO rental. We will definitely be going back as this is the perfect cabin. If you cant relax here, you cant relax any where!
