Gorgeous waterfront house on peaceful Isle au Haut

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely love the Greenlaw house on Isle au Haut. This will be our fourth summer renting the house. We have two children and the property is ideal for our family. The house is beautiful and clean and stocked with everything you need to make yourself at home. We love cooking (inside or out) while the kids run around outside, and hanging out on the deck after the kids go to bed. As you can see from the pictures, the house really is on the beach and you have your run of the whole cove where endless exploring awaits. From the house, it’s an easy bike ride to get an ice cream, a bottle of wine, or embark on a hike in Acadia National Park. Jim and Martha (the owners) go out of their way to make you feel welcome and help facilitate your enjoyment of the magical island. And yes, this is the Greenlaw family famous for fishing tales and cookbooks. Read up before you go, or browse the books in the house.

A wonderful vacation spot

  • 5 of 5

The Greenlaw cottage is incredible! We have stayed here several times, and each year it just gets better. The view from the front deck is stunning, and great for watching the sun set. You may be tempted to spend the entire day there but there are many other adventures awaiting you, with beautiful scenery in every direction. Jim and Martha (the owners) are incredibly gracious, and do so much to make sure your stay is enjoyable. The house is very comfortable and impeccably clean. All the amenities are there, from dishwasher to coffeemaker to rain head shower in the upstairs bath, and a king size bed upstairs as well. We plan to keep coming back here for many years to come!
