A beautiful apartment in downtown Oaxaca. You are walking distance to the zocalo (town square). Shops and restaurants are plentiful and varied. You'll be tempted to spend more time than you should sipping margaritas on your city view terrace with the world famous Monte Alban in the background.

The apartment is located in a safe and secure neighborhood at the Northwest edge of the Centro Historico. Museums, art galleries, cathedral, churches and historic landmarks are within easy walking distance.

We try to take care of our guests not only when they are in their beautiful apartment, but also when they are out on the town. We know that any new town can be confusing. To help, we give our guest the use of a local cell phone and contact numbers for those moments when you find yourself on a street corner, wondering which way to go or where a good restaurant is in the area. The local cell phone also eliminates those nasty 7000 dollar a minute roaming charges that were never quite explained correctly by your carrier.

The owner, lives 5 minutes from the apartment and is available to answer your questions about the city or arrange anything from private tours to cooking lessons for his guests. After living almost 14 years in Oaxaca, Anthony has extensive knowledge of the language schools and their programs and would be happy to help with any information you might need to help you decide on the best school for you.

Rental Rules/ Contract

1. CHECK-IN TIME IS AFTER 4 P.M. LOCAL TIME AND CHECK OUT IS 12 PM..

2. This is a NO SMOKING PERMITTED inside the apartment apartment. Smoking is allowed on the terraces.

3. No Pets are permitted in rental without prior approval. .

4. We will not rent to vacationing students or singles under 25 years of age unless accompanied by an adult guardian or parent.

5. DAMAGE/ DEPOSIT- The owner reserves the right to require a $500.00 damage deposit depending on the number of children to occupy the unit. The deposit, if required, may be paid upon arrival. The deposit is NOT applied toward rent; however, it is fully refundable within (14) days of departure, provided the following provisions are met.

a. No damage is done to apartment or its contents, beyond normal wear and tear.

b. No charges are incurred due to contraband, pets or collection of rents or services rendered during the stay.

c. No linens are lost or damaged.

6. PAYMENT – An advance payment equal to 50% of the rental rate is required . The advance payment will be applied toward the apartment rent. Please make payments in the form of PayPal, bank money orders or electronic transfer. Make payable to Anthony Alexander Bonaduce. The advance payment is not a damage deposit. The BALANCE OF RENT is due fourteen (14) days before your arrival date.

7. CANCELLATIONS – Casa de Emily gives a full or prorated refund up to the date arrival for any dates that can be rerented. Cancellation or early departure does not warrant any refund of rent or deposit unless you have purchased travel insurance which provides for trip interruption.

8. MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY- The maximum number of guests for this unit is limited to (5) persons. All quotations are base on the number of guests stated on the initial inquiry form unless written communications alter that number of guests.

THIS PROPERTY REQUIRES A SEVEN (7) NIGHT MINIMUM STAY..

9. Longer minimum stays may be required during holiday periods. If a rental is taken for less than seven days, the guest will be charged the seven-night rate.

10. INCLUSIVE FEES- all utilities, drinking water and linens are included in the rental rate.

11. ONCE WEEKLY MAID SERVICE – Linens and bath towels are included in the apartment as is once a week maid service. Additional maid service may be acquired at $25.00 per visit.

12. RATE CHANGES – Rates subject to change without notice but not within a paid reservation time frame.

13. FALSIFIED RESERVATIONS – Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of advance payment, deposit and/or rental money, and the party will not be permitted to check in.

14. WRITTEN EXCEPTIONS – Any exceptions to the above mentioned policies must be approved in writing in advance.

15. Parking – Parking is limited to one (1) vehicle. Other vehicles may park on the street.

16. The owners of the rental are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The Homeowners are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premise.

About The Owner

I have been living and building in Oaxaca City for the last 13 years. My wife and 3 children were all born in this magical town. My inlaws have lived in the Oaxaca valley for many generations and dedicate thenselves to the productions of the colchas (hand woven bedspreads) and other hand loomed items. I spend my time building homes and apartment buildings, and when time permits, giving guided tours to my favorite locations.

The Owner purchased this apartment in 1999

Loved Casa de Emily!

Another couple and my husband and I loved our stayed at Casa de Emily for the first week in January. The layout of the apartment gave us lots of privacy. We made amazing meals in the well stocked kitchen. The best part was "living" outdoors on the balcony. Tremendous views and sunsets combined with the perfect place (under the covered patio) to have coffee, drinks and meals not to mention a great place to read. Anthony couldn't have been more helpful and responsive.

Sunny place with a great view!

Casa de Emily is a very spacious, comfortable and safe apartment. The apartment was clean and well furnished. It is about 20 minutes walk to the Zocalo. At night we would take taxis which cost about $2.50. Anthony was a very nice and helpful host. Thank you, Anthony!!

Amazing Views and Convenient Location

My husband and I really enjoyed our time at Casa Emily. Anthony was very helpful with our arrangements, even when we had to change our reservation dates months after booking. He also helped arrange our transportation back to the airport at the end of our stay.

We enjoyed being in a quieter residential area, but still within walking distance to downtown (just wear good walking shoes because those hills on the way back are steep!). The views from the apartment & rooftop palapa are incredible. We spent some very relaxing afternoons sipping cocktails on the roof where the breeze and shade were refreshing. We also had unobstructed views of an incredible thunder & lightning storm from the safety of the apartment.

We were thankful that we had earplugs on a few weekend nights, but I imagine that would be the case anywhere in the city. We did find closing down all of the doors in the bedroom helped with noise as well.

Overall, the apartment was very comfortable and we definitely hope to return again soon!

A great place!!

We loved this penthouse apartment! Amazing views, within walking distance to the main square in Oaxaca, and a beautiful rooftop dining and relaxing area. Anthony was incredible. We even had a cheese and meat platter and cold beers waiting in the refrigerator when we arrived. Anthony was very helpful and responsive. He even organized a authentic, home-cooked meal for us in the apartment. A truly wonderful experience! Highly recommended.

A wonderful apartment with a great view

This is a great apartment in a with an amazing view high above the city of Oaxaca. We stayed in the two-bedroom apartment with a huge patio - one section is covered, so you can enjoy breakfast or cocktails outside even when it's raining, and another section has a large table for outdoor dining. The rooms are large and the kitchen has everything you need for cooking. The apartment is a 15-minute downhill walk (OK, uphill on the way back) through a residential neighborhood to the beautiful Santo Domingo de Guzman church in the center of town. There are a number of small bodegas and food stands along the way. We can't say enough about Anthony's responsiveness and friendliness. He arranged for our cabs to the airport, as well as a daylong cab trip to surrounding market towns and Monte Alban. He was always ready to help when we had a question. We would definitely stay here again.

We would go back in a heartbeat!

I stayed at both of Anthony’s apartments in Oaxaca. The 2 bedroom and the 3 bedroom in June of 2015. Both apartments are spacious and beautiful.

The 2 bedroom has wonderful sliding doors that lead out to a very large patio where you can overlook the entire city of Oaxaca. There is even a full dining table and chairs out there for meals outside enjoying the beautiful Oaxaca weather.

The 3 bedroom has a wonderful roof top terrace complete with a covered dining area. The windows in the 3 bedroom give you access to the panoramic views of Oaxaca all day and night.

Both apartments have all the amenities you need, cookware, linens, towels, and very comfortable beds. Clean drinking water is provided which is a big deal in Oaxaca as the city water is not safe to drink. I had to work while in Oaxaca and the wi-fi was very consistent as was the cable that had many channels that would play English movies & shows.

Anthony was a wonderful host. He was very responsive from the first time I contacted him all the way until our last day when he was kind enough to arrange for a taxi to take us to the airport. He was available to answer any questions throughout our trip and quick to fix any minor issues we had during our stay. (We had no hot water at first and Anthony was quick to come over and light our gas tank.)

The apartments are up on the hill giving amazing views of the city. The neighborhood is very safe and family friendly. There is an American style coffee shop 100 yards from Anthony’s place with great coffee. There are also various “mini-marts” on the street that carry just about everything you need from beer to milk to eggs to fresh bread & Oaxacan cheese.

Santo Domingo Plaza is less than a mile down the hill. And taxi’s are very cheap to take you back up the hill if you don’t care to walk. We walked most days only taking cabs when it rained or was too hot.

We had a member of our group that is high maintenance when it comes to accommodations being used to staying at very nice hotels and she had no complaints about Anthony’s place. We would go back in a heartbeat!
