“What a wonderful piece of Paradise you have here at ‘Awake To Waves’”Every corner shows the love you have put into remodeling. Shayla appears to be the ultimate Hostess- we lacked nothing in comfort or supplies….
It was a lovely little condo over looking the Hana bay. Beautiful sounds of the ocean to sleep by. There is a wonderful beach Five minutes up the road! We ate at the Spa Travvana five minutes from condo mmmm the best meal!! Was a wonderful adventure added to our trip to Hana!!
Great place to stay in Hana. Excellent location, spotless and tastefully decorated. Very well equipped and very good arrival instructions. Recommend highly!
We stayed in Condo 206 for 2 nights February 9th and 10th, 2017. We were vacationing in Hawaii for 2 weeks and these 2 nights were the most relaxed. This condo is so cute, from the rock sink in the bathroom, to the turtle mosaics in the shower, the gorgeous fresh flower arrangement, the lanai and that view. We loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves and the breeze while sleeping with the windows open. The art on the walls had more meaning to us after we actually experienced seeing the Banyan tree on our hike at Haleakala and finding our way to the red sand beach and rockcut. There was an eclipse on the 10th and the moon was amazing over Hana Bay. The lighthouse in the distance complimented several photos. We were greatful that there were beach chairs, beach towels and a cooler for us to use. We wished we stayed here longer.
Tips: The fridge makes its own ice and there are frosted mugs in the freezer. We realized this only after we paid for a bag of ice. We found the grocery store up on the hill had the most variety of food and alcohol. The Thai food trailer by the ballpark has delicious food. The door to the lanai is a bit cumbersome and there wasnt a way to lock it. The lockbox at the front door could be better. The condo building septic tanks are between the upper building (Condo 206 is here) and the lower building and near the lanai. Good thing we had plans to site see as the smell wasnt pleasant when the staff opened the lids to them. Also, there is a light that comes on and off in the middle of the night into the unit. Not sure if there is a timer or motion sensor but we couldn't figure it out. Parking at Haleakala was $20US (not $10) and good for 3 days and the 7 Sacred pools were closed to swimming. Do the entire trek up the volcano passing the famous banyan tree, through the gorgeous bamboo forest and to the final waterfall.
My mom and I stayed here on a a mother-daughter trip to Maui, and we were so happy with the property. It has a beautiful view and the kitchen, living room and bedroom are all well suited for two people. We loved cooking our own meals and eating out on the lanai. If you are trying to decide whether it is worth it to spend a night or two in Hana, all I can say is that it was the best part of our trip, and we went to 3 of the main islands. It is so peaceful and quiet, and the beaches in the area are breathtaking. I really can't stress enough or glad we were that we could take our time driving the road to Hana and that we had a few days to explore the area. You will not regret staying here.
Excellent location and view of the Bay. Clean and well equipped. Easy access to the beach. I would recommend adding a tv service. It did not matter for our short stay. But for longer stays I would say it is a must. Mahola
We wanted to spend a night (wish there could have been more) in Hana, and this was the best price for it. The condo was decorated Hawaiian current, and the sleep number bed was perfect. The surf was crazy wild, and I enjoyed falling asleep to it.
I'd recommend booking closer to your stay - we booked in August? for a January trip, and the beach just wasn't something we could enjoy due to the high surf. We were really looking forward to swimming on the west side, and we were denied on all the beaches.
Wear your tennis shoes on the beach in front of the condo - it's not necessarily sand until you actually get into the shallows. Everything else is pea gravel and larger.
Hosts left a few little doodads for the guests, and you have to take the garbage out with you after your stay - we were not even there 24 hours, and much of the garbage we took out was related to their notes and wrappings. Not a huge deal, but did take down the rating on this place.
