Exclusive Family House In A Unique Position Over Looking Bonchurch And Ventnor

Shenstone is a beautifully stone built Victorian semi-detached house and is situated just off the road between Ventnor and Shanklin. It has gated access with off road parking for up to 3 cars. There are 4 double bedrooms with a visitors pull out bed in the family room and a further twin/ double bedroom on the ground floor. The property has two bathrooms, large dining room, sitting room and kitchen. It has been sympathetically and tastefully furnished to a high standard throughout and most rooms are furnished with antiques dating from the nineteenth century, also includes double glazing and gas central heating, two wood burners and open fire place for modern day comfort. The garden is terraced with a huge patio area at the top, with wonderful sea views and a double brick built BBQ and seating for 8 people. The garden enjoys many wildlife visitors, including Red Squirrels and Hummingbird hawk-moth.

Sleeps 8+1. 4 bedroom house. Stunning sea views from all 4 bedrooms. Beautifully furnished 10 minute walk to beach and town centre. Suitable for children over the age of 5 yrs, younger children at the hosts discretion. Off road parking for three cars. Large sitting room with wide screen flat TV and XBOX 360. Zip and link beds in two rooms offering flexibility of double or twin beds. Bathroom with loo, Shower room and separate loo. Wash house with washing machine, tumble dryer and loo. Terraced garden with frequent visits from red squirrels. Double brick built BBQ.

Why Caroline Alexander chose Isle of Wight

We, as a family bought Shenstone in 2009 as our retirement home, but little did we know how much we would fall in love with the house!

The house has a wonderful family feel to it and never fails to make us smile as we walk through the door.

With ample space for the family if it starts to rain and the garden with its local residents of red squirrels and hummingbird hawk moths, Shenstone never fails to give us pleasure.

We offer off road parking for three cars which is essential as Ventnor is built on a very steep hill.

Shenstone's location is a fantastic starting point to visit the island.

Local shops and the beach are within walking distance and there are lots of fantastic walks starting just outside the house!

What makes this house unique

Stunning sea views from the bedrooms, large terraced garden with BBQ and off road parking . Close to local shops. Long country walks starting from just outside the door. Open fire and 2 wood burners to keep you warm during the winter months.

Really good base, everything in the cottage you could need, including the toilet rolls !

Cottag really clean, parking good although you have to reverse in, much better, all the instructions to use the appliances.

Lovely spacious and well-appointed house with bags of character

Spent a very happy Bank Holiday weekend at Shenstone with 6 friends. The house was extremely comfortable and well-appointed. The beds were amazing! - everyone slept really well.

It was a great location from which to explore the Island and was in a beautiful setting. All the rooms were full of character but the gentleman's wardrobe was particularly fascinating.

I would thoroughly recommend. The owner Caroline was also extremely punctual in replying to emails and phone calls and was very friendly and helpful.

A true home from home stay!

A well laid out family home. Really clean and well maintained with thoughtful touches and very comfortable beds. Lovely location with sea views and sunny terraced garden. A short walk down into the town with a good range of shops and restaurants. Particularly enjoyed meals at the Bonchurch Inn and visits to the fishmongers on the Ventnor seafront. Excellent customer service and can be thoroughly recommended.
