An area known as “The Flats”, one of the first housing developments in Cedar Rapids was inundated with high water in 2008. With many houses being demolished due to flood damage and other buyouts, only one house remained in 2018. In the spring of 2018, the structure was moved to its current location about 5 blocks away and closer to the Czech Village/NewBo District.
What is old is new again. The historic house was moved and completely renovated with the traveler in mind. The house was set on a full foundation to add living space and was stripped to the studs. In doing this, the house has added amenities and is now more efficient and safe. Now, with the ability to sleep 10 people in 1 king bed, 1 queen bed, 2 full beds, and a sofa bed you can call this house home for your visit to Cedar Rapids. Also, with two full bathrooms, an amazing new kitchen and a back patio facing the NewBo district, you can utilize this short-term rental to enjoy time with your friends and family.
The location in the Czech Village/NewBo District is near Downtown Cedar Rapids, Art Museum, Library, Paramount Theater, Theater Cedar Rapids, and just blocks from Unity Point/St. Luke’s and Mercy Hospitals, the Geonetric building, numerous restaurants, shops, and other entertainment.
The large attic bedroom has a queen bed and two full beds, perfect to sleep a family or a few close friends and still provide privacy. In the main floor has gathering area with sitting room, a counter to eat at, and kitchen, a full bathroom and access to the large back deck. The basement has a living room with a pullout couch, a king bedroom, and a full bathroom with a washer and dryer.
