About Stephanie Masson
My husband & I live in Paris, France. We are both scuba-diving lovers & we love to dive all around the globe & Curaçao is an ideal destination to fulfill that passion! Francois is anesthesiologist and likes to paint modern art, do sculpture, trekking and a little golf during his free time. I'm Stephanie : a while ago, I used to work in a start-up in the textile business worldwide. Now, I help my husband with its accountancy, sometimes work as a free-lance to create websites and I mainly raise our 2 kids. I love making new friends, traveling and organizing trips and events. I'm currently learning Italian & I love cooking, reading, walking, cycling, skiing and diving.
Stephanie Masson purchased this Villa in 2013
Why Stephanie Masson chose Sint Michiel
We discovered Curaçao during a house exchange a few years ago and we fell in love with the place. We have bought this house in order to spend our holidays and part of our retirement there. We have never rented out the villa yet but we've already exchanged it several times. We're always very happy to make people discover our beautiful Caribbean paradise.
What makes this Villa unique
- Our villa is very family friendly: this is the reason why we bought it because we spent the best holidays with our 2 little kids ever. A beautiful beach and pools with sun beds at a walking distance, many activities for children all around the island, a kids club to spend some free time, restaurants onsite to avoid cooking sometimes (with long-distance walkie talkies, you can even leave your children at home while you go to the restaurant if they are old enough to stay alone at home). - tremendous & relaxing view over the golf course, its lake and flamingos - perfect for lovers because the place is very romantic. - perfect for a group of friends because there are many things to go : plenty of good restaurants, many live concerts, jazz festival every year in end of August - diving paradise, - golf onsite (plus another golf on the island to discover). Curaçao is a guarantee for great holidays because: - the temperature is always nice : around 29 Celsius degrees (84 Fahrenheit degrees), with a nice breeze and the sea is warm all year round. - there is no hurricane season since Curacao is outside the hurricane belt - it's safe contrary to many places around the globe nowadays unfortunately - people are nice

Perfect property for doing everything! The location is excellent; short walk along lovely garden paths to the pool and the awesome beach. Also a couple of great restaurants and the beach bar hosting daily Happy Hour! The villa is well equipped with even some extra perks like snorkels and flippers with which to discover the great snorkelling available right off the beach. The owner is exceptionally prompt and thorough (and patient) in answering questions. A couple minor issues were attended to immediately. For golfers, note there is an extra perk of a discount using the property card. You cannot go wrong with spending your vacation at Villa Divi Divi.
My property manager’s team onsite and myself do our best to satisfy all our guests’ needs so your review is very rewarding!
I am glad that you could take advantage of the 20% discount negotiated for our guests at the golf club.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience and showing how happy you are!
Great stay at lovely villa Divi Divi #48
We certainly enjoyed our recent 11 days stay at Villa Divi Divi #48 in Blue Bay Resort. The Villa was very well equipped and centrally located near the parking place in the Resort, with a short walk to the pool, beach and golf course.
The wrap-around veranda was a great spot to sit and view the gorgeous flowers and lovely singing colourful birds. The flamingos, iguanas and other local species in the pond on the golf course were a highlight - great viewing with your morning coffee!
The beach was never over crowded while providing some of the best snorkeling on the island. The Villa and Resort are family oriented.
Stephanie is a very gracious and knowledgeable host, providing lots of information on the sites and activities on Curacao to enhance your stay.
The Centrum store is located close by, providing easy and economical access to all grocery needs while staying at the Villa.
Blue Bay is in a good central location for exploring the island, a rental car is a must. Both the north end and the east side of Williamstad take between 30 and 45 minutes depending on traffic. After visiting the various beaches on the island, we felt Blue Bay was one of the prettiest beaches.
I certainly would recommend the Blue Bay Resort and Villa Divi Divi #48 for a relaxing vacation experience.
Stephanie, thanks for making the stay in Curacao such a nice one! I hope to see you next year!!
Thanks John & family

Perfect in Every Way - Amazing Villa in BEST Location
Our 9-day stay at Villa Divi Divi was absolutely amazing. What a great location the Blue Bay Resort is. We felt even better after seeing the way the island is laid out and talking with others who stayed elsewhere. The location is literally perfect for a long stay..... right next to the grocery store, centrally located to everything, and Blue Bay itself is on our top-5 Beaches on the island list so getting the amenities for free while others pay to come here was a very understated benefit of our stay.
The villa itself is exactly as described and has everything one would need for a prolonged stay. We cooked a few meals from home and ate out the other times. Size of the unit was perfect for our family of 5 and I believe we could have been fine with a few more.
The kitchen is well stocked with everything needed, although a quick trip to the grocery store to stock up right away is a really good plan. Having cold water and a few cold beers awaiting us in the fridge upon arrival was a nice touch......
The property is amazing and the staff is really great. Of our 9-days, we ended up staying at the resort beach for 2 days and then even went after a few beach trip days in the evening to round out the day.
I would NOT recommend staying down close to Willemsted or Otraband or Mambo Beach with the throngs of tourists. Getting there is easy - they are only a 5-10 minute easy drive from Blue Bay Resort, which was perfect.
The resort itself is the perfect mix of relaxing resort feel with an exclusive private villa vibe.
The information provided by the Owners is really helpful upon arrival, and I recommend you reading everything, but here are our tips for beaches:
#1 - Cas Abao - Recommended by all the locals and they’re not wrong.
#2 - Klein Curasao - private, secluded beach on a deserted island.
#3 - Porto Marie - Amazing beach in a nature preserve with wild pigs wandering around.
#4 - Kenepa Grandi - Second in beauty only to Klein Curaso. Amazing views, cliff jumping and crystal blue water.
#5 - Blue Bay Resort - Our home away from home. Walk there and you’ll see why!!
Our favorite restaurants were:
- ShelterRock Paradise (Must-do on Friday night for stuffed coal-fired coconuts and authentic Curacao buffet- call ahead)
- Gouverner de Rouville (great food and beautiful view)
- Cafe La Boheme for breakfast
Thank you Stephanie for everything and we hope to be back someday. What a great island.
Cool place to enjoy your sunny vacation
The Blue Bay Resort itself is located on the best spot in the island. Not far from the main city, but in a calm bay with fine sand and beach.
As for the Villa Divi Divi, it is just perfect! At least for us and our needs. It is exactly as it was described on the site. Great veranda to enjoy pleasant afternoons, with wonderful view to the golf playground with the lake. We even saw flamingos one evening. The kitchenette and furniture are in a good condition. Stephanie provided everything someone need to spend and enjoy his or her time on the sunny island. The conversation between us before and during our stay, was very easy with quick, helpful and adequate answers.
All in all we couldn't ask for more for our pleasant stay in Curacao. I totally recommend Villa Divi Divi and it's charming host Stephanie!
Thanks for your positive review. It's been a great pleasure to exchange with you by email and welcome you in our villa. I am very glad that my advice could help you spend good holidays with your friends!
Villa with a view
We really enjoyed our recent 2 week stay at Villa Divi Divi with our family. Right from the booking experience to our last day, the owner was very detailed, attentive and a pleasure to deal with. The villa was well appointed with all that we needed to prepare meals, lounge or dine on the wrap around verandah. Each bedroom had a separate air conditioning unit for use at night for comfortable sleeping. From the villa with a rental car we were able to enjoy several activities in beautiful Curacao. We hiked up Mount Christoffel, visited Sheta Boka, enjoyed snorkelling with turtles at Playa Grande, visited several beaches in Westpunt and a few trips to Willemstad. We really enjoyed the Visserij, a casual oceanside fresh fish restaurant. Barracuda was sold out and went back on the menu as they walked in with one that was just caught - now that's fresh! The seared tuna was amazing! The resort provided many activities as well such as restaurants, beach, snorkelling from the beach, and tennis. We also enjoyed a round of golf for an extra fee. We can recommend the Blue Bay Dive Shop which allowed us to complete the PADI open water course successfully. The instructors were pleasant and knowledgeable. A catamaran trip to Westpunt through the dive shop was a highlight! We highly recommend this villa!
I am so glad that you could enjoy so many things on our wonderful island during your stay!
We will be happy to welcome you again when your husband decides to follow the Advanced diver course! ! This is true that the Blue Bay is a great location to get PADi certified because you are at a walking distance from the beach & the boat and you can practice what you learn right in front of the beach, enjoying colorful species and turtles. This is not the case in many other diving sites around the world where most of the time, you have to take the car (I am a diver as well).
I am excited to read that you liked the tour in Catamaran that starts at the Blue Bay beach and goes to Westpunt (there is also one going to the eastern side of the beach) because it’s brand new and I had heard of it: it sounds amazing so we will definately try it ourselves soon!
Let’s keep in touch.
Well-appointed, equipped, BUT NOT CLEAN! BUGGY!
I have used VRBO for over 10 years and never found a problem. Although well-equipped and appointed, two beds had sand between the sheets and there was sand from the entry way through to the main living area. In essence, bed sheets had not been cleaned. We suspect that the towels had just been folded and shelved also. Some dishes were put away dirty. (That overshadowed the rest of our experience; usually I quite willing to overlook the small things.) The internet was not set up for us (Password didn't work.), nor was the NETFLIX guest movies set in English for us even though they advertise that they accommodate the language and knew we were English-speaking. The place is nicely decorated, the equipment works, and it has games and beach equipment (snorkeling) for guests use, as well as the beach club rents other equipment, so a traveler doesn't need to bring activities for down time. The pool is nicely laid out and not busy. The managers have their phones turned off or are out of reach a majority of the working day so it took 4 or 5 calls throughout the day to reach them for information and direction, so we gave up and just did the best we could. We spent over 1/2 day getting things set up and cleaned. We spent only the first night eating out on the verandah. The bugs from the marsh below the cottage were overwhelming even after we bought two citronella candles. We would have needed at least a dozen and to spray the bushes around the verandah to use the out-of-doors. It is sad since it is nicely decorated. We spent our time indoors with doors closed and fan on when we were there. The beach is sandy up to water line. You really need water shoes to go out into the water and walk over the coral rock that hugs the shallows. Be prepared for the cruise visitors to storm the beach after 9:00 am. The place has a lot of potential for an island escape, but you need to be aware of the downfalls. We did have fun around the island with them many activities and the guest book gave us many ideas and was quite thorough.
How come you didn't mention the supposedly cleaning problem you encountered either to my property manager or myself? We exchanged many emails & you never mentioned it, neither when you checked out with my property manager Mariela who even said you were very nice so you can understand how surprised we were to read your review!
Our villa had been cleaned with clean sheets & towels on December. 15 Mariela had checked the property for your arrival. It is true that outside was very dusty, the gardeners were busy & there was wind blowing but inside was neat & clean & she didn't notice that there was sand in the house & the floors dirty.
If there is a problem, you should always report it immediately so that we can fix problems. We put a lot of efforts, care & love in receiving our guests & we take guests issues very seriously but what can we do if we are not aware?
When you tried to use Internet, it did not work & the HUAWEI box needed to be rebooted. On that day, Mariela came to the villa, rebooted it and it worked properly afterwards. Sometimes, when Internet doesn't work, you just have to wait for a while & it works again (it's an island, even if it's a fiber connection...) but you can also try to reboot the box or call my property manager to ask them to do so. Yet, most of the times, it works very well & debit is sufficient to even watch Netflix.
When you asked me to change the Netflix language into English, I did it straight away & let you know on Home Away 4mn later (but you could also have done it by yourself as guests before you did).
Regarding my property manager availability:I know that they're reactive & answer queries fast when there are. They are reachable 24/7 & can be contacted by phone but also by email & even what's app for urgent matters so why not having sent an email or a what's app if the phone was not answering?
Finally, you were beaten by mosquitoes & I'm sorry for that but indeed, there are mosquitoes in the Caribbean, especially when it has rained & at sunset & if you had read my manual, you would have protected yourself with some OFF spray as I suggested but apparently, I've understood after all our exchanges that you did not take the time to read it!
Fortunately, you also mention positive points so I hope with time you'll remember them more than the negative ones.
