Stay with a month agreement or longer in a classic, 1950 vintage ranch style house only four blocks from Stapleton, Denver's newest traditional neighborhood development. This ranch is a welcoming residence for business or pleasure in Denver. Set on an expansive corner lot--15,000 square feet--the house is a sunny and secure retreat for any traveler. Strayer Place--for those straying far from home.
The house has whole-house air conditioning and a 95% AFUE furnace.
Free wifi with capacity to Standard N via Comcast.
Only minutes from Downtown Denver--close to I-25 and Quebec.
All living room and dining room furnishings are new as of July 2005. The residence is done in a retro style decor. Club-car style leather couch and chairs are in the living room. A modern steel glass-topped table easily seats four in the dining room. Vintage art, maps, and mirror line the walls. Work or write at a new sloping front secretary or put up your feet on the ottomans and relax on the comfortable seating or watch cable.
Accommodations: The kitchen is fully furnished with all appliances--microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, mixer, dishwasher and more. Newly re-done to coordinate with other furnishings, the kitchen has a new floor and refinished cabinets. The bath has a new porcelain tile floor and new lavatory. The master bedroom continues the retro look with a 50's dresser, brass night stand and has full length mirror sliding doors on a 12 foot closet. The bed is luxuriance itself--a new restful and comfortable pillow-top queen-sized Denver Mattress. The second bedroom has two twin beds that can be made up into a king. The second bedroom also has full-length mirrored closet doors. Guests have access to the laundry in the basement. A stackable washer and gas dryer are available along with a laundry tub and detergent.
Location: The residence is fronted by an expansive lawn with a circular drive that allows parking at the front door. Front and back entrances include security doors. The rear door offers access to a covered patio--really an outdoor room overlooking a large, pleasant backyard. The patio has a ceiling fan, dinette set with chaise lounge, side chairs and end table.
Close to Stapleton, you may walk to hotel row on Quebec--only four short blocks away. Hotels on Quebec include the Doubletree, a Holiday Inn, and a Renaissance among several others. Stapleton includes many local restaurants and an array of chain stores and eateries. As a traditional neighborhood development, Stapleton offers parks, playgrounds, tennis, and hiking and biking trails. The residence is convenient to Denver's RTD bus line with a stop to downtown across the boulevard in front and toward Denver International Airport and east one house away.
At Home in the City: Make this classic home your Denver base for business or your getaway for leisure or even a retreat away from home. Because this house is located on an expansive property of 15,000 square feet, it becomes its own destination. You have little sense that you have neighbors because of the size of the property. In the summer, enjoy the herb garden next to the patio and the back yard or use the gas grill, read, relax, have a quiet time. As of 2011, the house has a new 95% efficient furnace and central air conditioning. As a result, windows can be closed to minimize the sounds of passing cars and any incidental noise.

Why Norm Wilson chose Park Hill
This property attracted me because it is a destination in and of itself. The house sets in the middle of a 15,000 square foot lot. It has a circle drive to the front door. It has a patio far removed from neighbors. At the same time it is virtually on the border between Stapleton, one of Denver's newest neighborhoods with many equally new amenities and the city's largest rec center, and Park Hill, one of Denver's premier historic neighborhoods. What makes the immediate neighborhood interesting is the dominance of Mid-Century Modern style houses, including the house I own. While the furnishings I have chosen mostly reflect the slightly earlier style of international style--think Bauhaus, LeCorbusier and Mies van der Rohe--these chairs, couches, tables make for an easily cleaned and comfortable living environment.

Great, cozy house
We rented this house while in transition from selling our house/buying a new one. The landlord was extremely flexible and understanding - he was very patient with us, as our schedule changed a few times. The house is very clean and well-maintained. There is a fantastic patio and backyard for summer/springtime. The house is within walking distance to a nice shopping/eating area, as well as a grocery store and Walgreens. The house is in a quiet, diverse neighborhood - we stayed there for three weeks and did not have any problems. In fact we never saw or heard any of the neighbors. We were able to use the internet (dial up only though) using our own internet account. The house is a couple miles from downtown, but by a major street going into the city.
Overall, this is a great place to stay, especially if you're looking for a more comfortable, house-like setting vs. hotel.
Was close to our show. Clean house worked well for us. Would stay again.
A little worried about metal bars on windows in case of a fire would be trapped in bedrooms. Your car will not fit in garage. Great location good price
There are metal bars on the bedroom windows, but those windows are Frank Lloyd Wright-Prairie Style, small and high-off-the-floor casement crank-out windows. They were never designed for escape, quite obviously. There are millions of houses with similar windows throughout the country. The metal bars are rather more decorative than functional, I would say. The bars are, however, slated to be re-worked to open or will be removed. Every fire safety measure has been addressed in the house. Whatever room you are in, you are within twenty-five feet of an exterior door.
The garage is rather tight, but the garage is not an amenity that is part of the rental. The property offers thousands of square feet of paved parking, much of it shaded during the summer, given both a circle drive to the front door and the drive off the alley.
The guest was quite satisfied both on arrival and on departure as well.
Nice clean place. Very satisfied!
We enjoyed our stay here and Norm was very helpful with any questions we had. Easy access and wasn't far from where we needed to be. Clean and comfortable.
The place was great nice and clean very warming. We really enjoyed our stay it was the prefect location for us. We really enjoyed or stay and will be staying again when we travel to Denver.
This is a no frills ranch house in the suburbs. It is exactly as pictured. I would disagree with the review that said that this is not a safe neighborhood. It is within walking distance from Stapleton center which features a great super market, wine shop and a few good restaurants.
