This cabin exceeded our expectations! Clean, cozy, close to Cades Cove! The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed! Looking forward to planning our next vacation to the Appalacian!
Myself, fiancée, and teen son enjoyed this cabin. It is clean, comfy, and exactly what we wanted for our vacation. The beds are so comfortable! Beautiful location. Easy drive to all the touristy areas, close to shopping and the park. You will not be disappointed and we intend on coming back again. Owner goes above and beyond what others would do, making your stay a worry free experience. The cabin is equipped with everything you may need and the wifi works great for kids with gadgets that may need a signal for rainy days. The jacuzzi was nice after a long day of hiking the trails at Cades Cove and the park. Can't say enough about how wonderful the cabin and owner was.
The Appalachian was the perfect cabin for our anniversary getaway. Quiet and peaceful setting. Easy to get to. Clean, comfortable and Robin made sure everything was perfect. I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone looking for that special place to get away from it all and just enjoy the peaceful side of the Smoky's.
Oh and keep your eyes open for a happy go lucky black bear that would come visit almost every evening while we were there. We will always check the availability of this cabin first on our future trips.
This was our first time staying in Townsend, and we were so glad we did. The cabin was just a few minutes to Cades Cove, which is where we planned on spending most of our time. We've always stayed in Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge, but I have to say Townsend will be our destination of choice from now on. The scenery was awesome and the town folks were very friendly. We took our two grandkids, ages 6 & 9 and they loved the cabin and the hot tub. After hiking to Abram Falls we were all looking forward to the hot tub. The upstairs excited the kids and they were thrilled to find a closet full of board games. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. This is a lovely cabin, and town. You won't be disappointed. Robin made our reservation process worry free and we even received a thank you email after we left. Thanks Robin and we will hopefully be back to stay in the "Appalachian" again soon.
This property was absolutely fantastic! Me and my new hubby went here on a mini honeymoon and it was the perfect place to just sit back and relax. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.
My husband and I really enjoyed "The Appalachian" and are hoping to go back soon! The cabin was spacious and the master tub was a delight after hiking the trails in Cades Cove. The somewhat secluded setting was just what we were looking for.
We enjoyed the kitchen, and the savings and convenience of making most of our own meals.
I especially enjoyed seeing the Black Bears around the area, in Cades Cove, and we even saw a rather large but shy black bear up the road from the cabin. We affectionately named him "The Rump" as that is all we saw of him as he was running away.
Robin was very kind and friendly, and a joy to rent from. We hope to be back soon.
Townsend, Tennessee is situated next to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Commonly called 'the Peaceful Side of the Smokies', Townsend is away from the hectic pace of other areas and is truly a great place to spend time with family and friends. Cades Cove is only minutes away where you'll see how the pioneers of the area lived. It's also a popular area to view the native wildlife, including black bear, deer, wild turkey, grouse, etc.
There are so many outdoor activities to do in the area. There are numerous trails nearby to hike and there is also a walking/biking trail in Townsend that is approximately 9 miles long. During the summer, visitors love to tube down the river that runs through Townsend. The river is popular also for fishing and swimming. There are several horseback riding businesses around Townsend and bikes can be rented to enjoy the bike trail.
Whatever you choose to do, you'll enjoy all the nature that Townsend and the area has to offer.
