My husband, a former motorcross and supercross competitor, and I love saving and restoring old homes. We are real estate agents, investors, remodelers and for fun we like 'looking for the next project'. Every now and then we'll pack an overnight bag and spend a long weekend at The Merlot House and enjoy everything that Grapevine has to offer. Sharing our home with others has given us the opportunity to meet some great people and make new friends.
We enjoy all of the festivals and special events in the area especially at Christmas time. In the summer we spend a lot of time time on Lake Grapevine so the location works well for us. We love the real small town feel Grapevine has to offer.
Just a short note to let you know how much we enjoyed staying at your beautiful home Everything was wonderful and the house is equipped with more than what we expected! I will definitely recommend your house to my friends and if we come back to Grapevine we will definitely come stay again! It was a great location with plenty of privacy and we felt right at home from the start. Sorry for taking so long to send this note. Thanks again for having us and I hope someday to come back and meet you!
Have a great day and a great 2011!!

This house was located close to everything! Owner/manager was so sweet to work with! The home itself was clean and decorated so pretty! Everything you needed to cook or grill outside. The pictures you see are exactly how the house is, everything seems to be remodeled. The home was very roomy and comfortable. We hope to stay again when we are in the area! We loved the house!!!
I would recommend this home very favorably. Everything was as advertised, the home was extremely clean and well provided, and the owners were responsive and easy to deal with.
We found the home to be an excellent choice for a large family like ours. There is plenty of room in the three bedrooms. The fourth sleeping area - which is in the "study" right off the kitchen/hallway - is ok simply for an extra bed, but can't really function as an extra bedroom, as it is too open to the rest of the home. This is made clear in the description of the house, so there was no surprise there, and the extra bed was indeed useful to us. The kitchen is plenty spacious; we did a good deal of cooking in-house, and appreciated that the kitchen was decently stocked with basic utensils and cooking implements. The living area is comfortable, and the owners have provided a number of board games, playing cards, etc. And of course there's a decent TV and the wireless internet worked fine. Another big plus was the very large yard, fenced in. If you are traveling with kids, this will be a much appreciated feature.
For those unfamiliar with the area, the location is terrific in terms of its being close to historic Grapevine (several great restaurants and wine shops/bars within walking distance or an extremely short drive), and all of the retail/restaurants of Southlake/Grapevine are within a couple of miles in any direction. The neighborhood is an older neighborhood, not upscale or modern, but certainly safe - it's right off the main drag, so it's as close to some office buildings as it is to other residences. I can't recommend the location strongly enough - everything is right there.
I would like to underscore again that the home was clean, which is always a relief to see when you walk into a place for the first time. And the owners were very reasonable to deal with. We had the furnace stop working on us when we were there (during a very cold stretch), and the owners made sure that it was serviced that same day, so we felt that they were quite responsible and responsive.
In sum, we would certainly look forward to staying here again, and would recommend it to others.
This house exceeded our expectations. It is very well kept and clean. It has the perfect setup for entertaining and plenty of space for sleeping. Would definitely visit again!
This is our 2nd year staying at this place, nice and a safe area. We're planning for our next year trip already.
The house was wonderful. Clean, nice decorations and excellent appliances. I have rented many other homes and this is truly the first that didn't feel like the rental had only discarded furniture. The location was very good. We didn't have any issues. It's a great property.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this home. It was beautifully decorated, spacious and clean. The home is conveniently located to Dallas, Ft. Worth and is only a block from Grapevine's quaint Main Street. This home provided comfortable accommodations for our group of 7. The only suggested improvement would be stronger wifi. Highly recommended!!
Close proximity to sports venues, New Dallas Cowboys Stadium, Texas Rangers, Dallas Stars. Easy access and commute to Texas Motor Speedway.
