We've lived in our lovely 3 bed house for 8 years, and during that time have seen this part of London become more and more interesting and exciting. Our house is light and open and has a really sweet courtyard garden, which I designed.

The House was built in 1890 and we're lucky to have many of the original features, from sash windows to exposed floorboards. We believe we've brought out the best in the house, furnishing it with contemporary and mid-century modern styling.

The Neighbourhood is really great, beautiful parks, farmers markets and other forms of shopping including factory outlet stores are all within walking distance. We're total foodies too, which is just as well, because Hackney has some of the best Turkish and Vietnamese restaurants in London, plus really fantastic coffee from the cafe at the bottom of the road, or pizza from the fabulous Lardo, brunch at Rawduck before wandering through London Fields or dinner at the really great restaurant our friends run called May fields... means it's quite hard to justify cooking and staying at home.

Geographically, our home is halfway between (10 mins walk in different directions) the beautiful Victoria Park, with its adventure playgrounds, skate park and herbaceous gardens ... and London Fields, with its world class open air Lido (the British Olympian Team trained there) and the very celebrated Broadway Market (every Saturday).

In terms of other shopping, we are literally round the corner from factory outlet stores Burberry, Aquascutum, Bally and Pringle and it is only two stops on the train to the new very fancy shopping mall, Westfield, where if shopping is not enough you can wander through the beautiful Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park or go swimming at the Zaha Hadid designed Olympic Aquatic Centre.

If the sights of London are what you are after, then there are buses and overground trains that connect you very easily with the centre of town. We are in zone 2, so you the bus is only 45 minutes to Tottenham Court Road.
