The Marriott's Surf Club are luxury vacations beyond belief. Go to the Marriott website link and check out all the amenities plus the adjacent Marriott Stellaris Resort and Casino, a 7 star hotel and a huge, exciting casino. You have full use of all three sites except for the pools. There is a free concierge on site for you too.
Aruba is everything you could ever want and then some. Be active or relax. Go on the gorgeous private beach, snorkel right at the hotel, play volleyball, rent a jet ski, or lay in your own little hut soaking up the rays. It always feels cooler due to a warm breeze all year long so you are never too hot and no humidity. That's a great plus for Carribbean travel. Perfect weather! And you are out of the Hurricane Belt!!!
Be sure to check out the Mandara Spa at the Marriott. Schedule a couples massage, body wrap or just work out. It's fabulous. And just charge it to your room.
There are many fantastic restaurants plus movies within walking distance so you don't need a car- just take a walk and choose a different place every night. A brand new mall has just opened up . More theaters, shopping and restaurants just a step away. There is a Hertz car rental and an Economy rental on site if you want to go to Baby Beach for the day. I can recommend some great restaurants and activities before you go but you will have a concierge at your disposal too.
And best of all - pricing for restaurants and activities are about the same as in the states - no crazy $$ like in Hawaii or Europe right now so that bottom line stays doable.
NEVER TRAVEL TO ANOTHER COUNTRY WITHOUT INSURANCE. Protect your investment of course but most important is to have the medical insurance in case of an emergency. My husband had emergency surgery in Aruba and air lifting out of Aruba last April and our insurance took care of the arrangements and all the fees.

I was a reading specialist in the elementary schools and I also supervised student teachers for a university. I retired 4 years ago. I love travel and we like to do that a lot. We bought several Marriott time shares and due to the economy we are not using them all right now (we do reserve our right to Aruba twice a year)!! By offering them for rent we are able to pay our maintenance fees and keep them for better times.
Also, by owning so many and renting them year after year I have come to know several other owners who do the same and we often help each other so if I don't have a date you need, I usually can find one for you. I also have a lot of experience booking group trips as I can get multiple units for the same dates for you and save you money and tons of time.

Aruba is paradise. Need I say more?
We adore the relaxed atmosphere at the Marriott and all the pools, restaurants and even the theaters within walking distance. Snorkeling and other water sports are great fun and we never had a bad weather day yet. The people who live and work in Aruba are so friendly and charming, it can make the whole difference in your stay. We love, love, love it!
We have stayed at the Marriott Surf Club and Ocean Club for two weeks for
the last two years with our children and grandchildren for one week and one
week alone, and of all the Marriott's this one has got to be the best. There is
so much to offer in addition to the sun and surf. There are many restaurants
both on the grounds and attached to the villas and they are reasonable too.
there are planned children's activities and water slides, kiddie pools and adult
pools. There is fantastic shopping and movie theaters just a block away, along
with a great selection of restaurants including my favorite, sushi. The casino
is great, the spa is gorgeous, and of course the villas are luxury all the way.
Call me for specifics and whether you book or not I will be happy to direct
you to some of my favorite things to do and places to eat. You will want to
come back again and again - most people do. That's how we bought the time
share last year - love at first sight!
We have used Robin several times now for both well planned trips and spur of the moment trips.
She always comes thru for us with our booking requests. Robin is quick to respond to your booking requests and will work her magic to satisfy your accommodation needs. In today's world good service is getting harder to find and I have to say she is the best for your Aruba Vacation. Thanks Robin !!!
I usually don't write reviews but I wanted to comment on how great Robin was when we booked with her earlier this year. This was my first time with VRBO so I was skittish on sending that amount of money to independent provider. She worked with us, and answered every question quickly. I even changed from credit card to paypal checking last minute and she was super flexible.
The Marriott Surf Club was perfect for us. We have two boys 7 & 5, and they had a great time in the pools, and the children's club. We rented a car and explored the island a number of days. Eagle beach was my person favorite spot, and ranks as the best best I have ever visited. It was nice to get the kids out of the hotel a couple of days, but also nice to just spend the time at the Marriott pools and the local beach.
Surf club is more of a family atmosphere then the other Marriott properties or the other hotels in the area. The water slide, water fall and lazy river were mainstays for our family.
We used the kitchen every day. The rental car helped with the 2 trips to the grocery stores. We used superfoods but preferred Ling & Sons. They cater to US shoppers and have all the brands and items you could want and much better produce.
Family loved the adventure, and Robin was super awesome! Look forward to working with her again soon!
First of all I would not hesitate to book with Robin and Arubawego. It was my first time booking through VRBO and it was a great experience. She responded right away to my emails and when Southwest moved our flight to a day ahead she was very helpful in getting us into the Surf Club in another 2 bedroom for an additional day so that we didn't need to switch rooms. I received all email confirmations promptly and it was a smooth experience.
The surf club is now my favorite place on the island. Yes it is large but we loved the many pools and especially the lazy river!! It isn't on the best stretch of beach as the water is cloudy from all the boats. But it's still warm and we spent time lounging in our rafts we brought with us. There was often rafts people left near the elevators to use but we did bring our own. The pools were our favorite and my nieces favorite as well! The drinks are not strong at the swim up bar and are expensive. Happy hour prices 2/$15. Ask the bartenders to make some of their specialty non frozen drinks and you may get slightly more alcohol in them.
The unit was on the 7th floor and we had a great central view of the pools and ocean! It was updated and clean and very spacious! We loved having coffee on our balcony. Of course always love the full kitchen!
Close enough to walk to shops and tons of restaurants. Felt safe at night.
We will return to the Surf Club through Robin again!
Thank you Robin!!
We had an amazing time in Aruba. As a family of 5, it was great to have the two bedroom unit with so much space! The resort was great with a lazy river and zero entry pool. Floating in the ocean was fun. Water was very warm. We did the jeep excursion to baby beach and the ostrich farm and it was amazing to see the rest of the island and amazing vistas. We didn't cook but the kitchen was handy for milk and cereal in the morning and snacks (bring from home- saved us money) and cold drinks. Restaurants were all good. Brunch at La Vista was delicious and we never had a bad meal throughout our stay. They had daily kids activities which were fun. Robin was wonderful to work with and very helpful. Amazing vacation! Can't wait to go back.
We traveled to Aruba this month for the first time and we will definitely be back! We traveled with our 6 yr old twin boys as well as another family with 2 boys age 10 & 12. The Surf Club offers so many activities for both kids and adults. (The lazy river and water slide were a huge hit with my kids.) We stayed in a newly renovated 2BR/2BA villa in the Oceanside building. The unit was very clean and well stocked. There was ample room for our family and there was also a pull out sofa in both the 2nd BR as well as the LR. Dishwasher and washer/dryer in the unit were a HUGE plus. We went grocery shopping on our first day and stocked up on breakfast food and snacks for the kids. It's a big help to not have to eat every meal out in a restaurant with 6yr olds. We spent most of our time at the beach. While Surf Club does offer palaces for rent at $10/day I believe, we opted to rent umbrellas next door to the left for $40/Day. They were closer to the ocean so you could watch your kids and there was waiter service from the restaurant Moomba (which I also highly recommend) A short walk down to the pier was another good restaurant called the Pelican Nest. Great for lunch or dinner. We ate at numerous nearby restaurants throughout our trip including restaurants at the sister Marriott hotels which are just a short walk. Our favorite was the restaurant on the beach at Stellaris called Atardi (formerly Simply Fish) Outside the hotel was a short walk to an outdoor mall with restaurants, shops and a cinema. We also did a day trip to DePalm Island which was a great day for the kids - there is a water park, zip line, jumpers, snorkeling etc. Another day we rented a catamaran for 2 hours which included snorkeling, rope swing and sunset. I would highly recommend this property especially if you are traveling with kids. If you are looking for a quieter setting Ocean Club or Stellaris might be a better option. We are already planning our trip back. The weather was sunny and warm every day! Robin was fantastic and a pleasure to work with. She answered all my questions in a timely fashion and was overall very helpful and professional. I am looking forward to working with her again.
This was our first visit to Aruba and we will definitely be back. We travel frequently and this was our first time organizing our own vacation as opposed to going to an all inclusive type resort. By far, we enjoyed this type of vacation more. Here's what we liked about this property and Aruba:
*We eat healthy so we don’t like all the food that’s thrown at you with an AI type resort. It gets kind of disgusting after a while. It’s not healthy to eat that much food and we want better for ourselves and our children. We give them treats daily but we don’t let them go crazy like they tend to do in the AI type resorts.
*The room - with a 2br unit, we have plenty of room for our family of 5. It's really nice to have the 2 washrooms and a bit of privacy for the kids and parents both.
*We like to have Breakfast in our room in the morning. There is a grocery store just a few minutes away by taxi that we frequented a couple of times to supply us with snacks and quick foods for lunch and breakfast.
*Usually the quality of the food with AI is mediocre at best and after sometime it all has a similar taste and feel. The variety of options here are great and the quality is top notch most places. Much better than AI. We are happy to pay for this type of meal and a different setting each night. We've still got a long list of restaurants to hit the next trip.
*It’s not like AI is free, you’re still paying, just you just pay upfront.
*The Marriott property is quite central to some evening entertainment…. You can walk to get an ice cream or see a movie, bowling etc. We like that. Also, we like morning runs/walks along that trail that goes all the way down past the RIU. A quick stop at Starbucks or the smoothie shack is a great start to the day!
*The weather - with only 6" of rain a year, you're pretty much guaranteed that sunshine. Coming from Canada, we appreciate a little heat this time of year. Also, there's a strong breeze/wind here that keeps you from getting too warm.
*The sunsets. Every night at approximately 6:45 the sun sets directly out in front of the hotel. Spectacular photos can be had at this time and the perfect orientation.
*The sea - water is warmer than we've seen it a bit further North in Turks, Bahamas, Jamaica, etc. We spent almost all our time at the beach except for the occasional float in the lazy river. I would have been nice if the water was clearer but it was still nice for swimming.
Snorkeling is great here but all you have to do is sit in the shallow water and the fish come to you! Angel fish, puffer fish and others I don't know. Wow!
