Perfect Atmosphere for Every Vacationer: This quiet neighborhood is mostly locals, and few people ever walk in front of your view, unlike the party atmosphere prevalent in many other beach towns. It's perfect for a romantic get away for a couple, or a weary family returning from a day of sight-seeing or the beach. We've also hosted numerous 'girls weekends' with rave reviews: it's comfortable enough to lounge around all day, the main street is casual and close, and the Gas Light district is convenient for nightlife, too.
Many Amenities Included: We want you to thoroughly enjoy yourselves while you're our guests. Amenities such as candles, coffee, tea, spices and basic cooking items are included, as well as enough paper products for your entire stay, condiments in the refrigerator, and laundry supplies.
John & Sharon live in Phoenix. John grew up in Point Loma, just over the hill from Ocean Beach. His family had deep roots here, and he spent his summers and weekends sailing and surfing in and around San Diego. He swears he kissed his first girl on the rocks below the condo!
Sharon Kearns purchased this condo in 2001
'It's ON the water!'
We first stumbled onto this property when we were renting nearby one summer. John pushed Sharon to make an offer. Slower to bite, Sharon talked to many friends and relatives about the purchase. Almosts without exception their response was , 'but it's ON the water!' It became a standing joke: why would you not buy a property with this view?
The view and the balcony are priceless. there's enough room to be comfortable, enough privacy to hang out in your pajamas, and 180 degrees of ocean. Whether it's blue skies, turquoise water, and sailboats racing, sunset with red-orange light and a green flash, or an angry ocean with 20' swells and a layer of salt on the railing, we are constantly experiencing the power and majesty of the ocean.
Thank you Sharon & John for sharing your condo. It is just as beautiful and comfortable as your descriptions & pictures show. Everything about the condo is wonderful. My husband & I spent 1 week in Oct. at the condo & loved every minute. We loved it so much we just got home from another week there.
In Oct. we walked everywhere, ate at the Blue Parrot twice, the Puerto Nuevo Shrimp is unbelievable good. We shopped at the Farmers Market and strolled through all the local shops. We used our rental car 3 times in a week. To get to the condo from the airport, to go to the grocery store and then back to the airport. We were always back on the deck for the sunsets and then I would cook dinner in the fully equipped and well laid out kitchen.
In Dec. the storms were awesome. We watched the waves hitting the pier & the rain from inside the condo. We walked alot, when the weather permitted. We ate out only once, at The Blue Parrot and ate the same shrimp again. I love to cook and their kitchen is a pleasure to cook in. My husband and I enjoyed the big TV with the DVR. We could zip through commercials or record shows for later. At bedtime the big down comforters on the beds are so warm and snugly it was hard to get up in the morning.
When we came home in Oct. we got rid of our coffee maker because we liked theirs so much better , we had to get one just like theirs. Today I went and got a new hairdryer because the one they provide for guests is so much nicer than what I own.
There is only one reason I didn't want to write this review... I was afraid the condo would always be rented and we wouldn't be able to stay there again. It's beautiful, we can't wait to go back again.
Thank you, thank you, thank you....

We were impressed with the Ocean Front Condo. It lived up to the description! Had a bit of a glitch with the cleaning when we first arrived, but it was remedied very quickly. The place was very well stocked with dishes, glasses, and all the gadgets we could need (even better than my home in some respects). The rooms and place were very comfortable for all 4 of us to be able to spread out. Couldn't beat the view. We watched the air craft carrier do some manuvers off shore, some dolphins fishing, seals playing and pelicans flying around right from the balcony. It was quiet except for the morning airplanes taking off from the airport, and very conviently located to walking downtown and enjoying the shopping, breweries and all the resturants. We would definately stay again!
We love this place! Sharon has added all of the personal touches to make you feel like your are at home. This is now our OB home after our second stay here.
What a truly amazing place to stay in OB. They have thought of everything.
We have stayed in condos, homes, villas in a lot of places and this by far felt more like home than any others!
We went for my daughters 30th birthday and have decided to make it a yearly thing based just on this condo. Now that is saying something.
Thanks for having such a warm and wonderful condo.
My family spent a week in San Diego, first staying downtown at the new Homewood Suites in Little Italy for 3 nights and then 4 nights here; thoroughly enjoyed the oceanfront condo. The view from the second floor deck was spectacular, we loved lounging on the comfortable chairs watching the sunsets. I lived in Ocean Beach after college in the late 70's and visited again in 2006 and knew about the quirky OB scene- which my wife found some great places to browse and shop on nearby Newport Avenue. I always had wanted to go back and stay and this was the perfect place. The condo was clean and well appointed, well maintained, plenty of amenities- beach bikes were the best, beach towels, cooler for day trip, etc. The bathrooms were modern and the extra towels much appreciated. And having a washer and dryer was great! The coffee maker needs replacing as it did not brew hot enough and the garage is small to park a car, but other than that the place was excellent! The parking spot across the street was safe and we parked there without any problems. I would recommend the property and rent again.
Beautiful. Great location . Clean, bright and on the ocean. Best place in or around San Diego.
You will never get a better view.
