Why Shawn M Jones chose Hosford-Abernethy
We have owned this cozy, two-story sanctuary for 25+ years. Over the last decade, we've been excited to see our neighborhood transform into a premier destination for food lovers, beer aficionados, and cultural adventurers. Now we want to share it with you. Casa Feliz is half a block off Hawthorne Blvd., walking distance to popular spots like Jam, Cartlandia, Powell’s Books, and Pok Pok, among so many others. We wish you a great stay in a great city.
What makes this Townhome unique
Fantastic walking neighborhood, great restaurants and bars, cool urban setting. Updated kitchen (small, but very functional) with a gas range and big fridge. In the spring and summer, the back deck is the place to be. It's just a great place in a great location.
100% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date. 50% refund if canceled at least 14 days before arrival date.
Weekend getaway with our daughter and son-in-law
Property is in a great location, 30 minutes to the airport, central location for exploring the waterfalls, Mount Hood, wineries and beaches. It’s within walking distance to fun restaurants and bars!
We found Shawn and Greg to be very friendly and responsive.
Clean, Convenient and Perfect for Portland stay!
Great place, well appointed. Neighborhood was quite, easy to navigate and close to everything. Plenty to explore here, between Hawthorne and Division. Some food cart pods down in the area, Hawthorn Asylum and Wolf and Bear! Safeway grocery store is right down the street.
Easy to access the house, easy TV controls and parking on the street. It can get a little warm upstairs, but plenty of fans and only when it is hot in Portland, which is one month. It cools down at night too! Anyway, it was a great homebase in Portland. Thank you!
What a gem of a property! Walking distance to several restaurants. Short bus ride to downtown.
Lovely deck, spacious living room.
Diamond in the rough.
The location was awesome, quick accesses to bus lines! House was easy to access. Cute old house charm, with a nice patio and grass area to hang out. Parking is horrible, first 2 nights we had to park a street over. Got lucky woke up early one morning to go get some essentials and were able to get on the same street. Our stay was for 5 nights!
BBQ was very dirty (had to clean it) and only would work on one side, and no utensils were there to use the BBQ. So if you are going to rent this and plan on using the BBQ you may want to bring your own stuff.
No dish cloths and only one dish towel in the house, no steak knifes . House was not stocked with enough toilet paper for 2 nights.
The house was perfect for the 4 of us with lots of room (kitchen is small, but that is part of the old house charm) , and we had lots of fun for our visit to Portland. If you get a descent parking spot don't move your car and take the bus. To go to Downtown take bus 14 its about a 8 minute bus ride you catch the bus on Hawthorne $5 for a day pass, you can really go anywhere on the bus lines (I recommend calling they are very helpful)!
Hope the BBQ can get fixed or a new one purchased since the back patio and grass area is so nice.
Perfect Portland location
Comfortable house in a great location. We loved hanging out on the comfy couch in the morning and evening. It's close to great neighborhoods with restaurants and shops. Easy to get into downtown Portland. In a busy area yet quiet at night for sleeping in the comfy beds. We would stay there again!
A Part of Portland
We really enjoyed our stay in Portland. The house was very comfortable with plenty of room. The washer and dryer is in the basement. There is a nice deck with table and chairs off the kitchen. The Hosts provided recommendations for restaurants and locations to visit and they were spot on. We ate well thanks to their recommendations. The house is a blend of rustic and modern, with both the kitchen and upstairs bathroom completely remodeled. Overall we thought the location was great, but downtown Portland is a long walk, so we drove in when we wanted to visit. The neighborhood is quiet but has main streets where restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, markets, and shops abound. Lots to see and do within walking distance.
Portland's Hawthorne District is one of the most popular neighborhoods in the city, with a Walk Score of 90. You are surrounded by amazing restaurants, coffee shops, theaters, and boutiques.
