Pawleys Plantation Townhome Rental Photos and Description

Our Townhome is on the 12 hole tee box of a Jack Nicklaus designed golf course. A few yards from the beautiful bay & marsh views of Pawleys Island. 100 yards to the pool. Walk, bike, skate or run around the Pawleys Plantation grounds, which is a security guard gated community. 5 minutes to the Beach of Pawleys Island. The clubhouse is noted for its dinning room & sports pub. Stay home or go out - we are 70 miles North of Charleston, 10 miles north of Georgetown, 12 miles south of Merrill’s Inlet and 24 miles south of Myrtle Beach. 2 State parks within 5 miles. 2 miles to the famous Hammock Shops. 4 of the top 10 golf courses are within 5 minutes of the villa. Come take a moonlight walk under the South Carolina stars by the Bay and feel the ocean breeze sweep down the 12th fairway to your home away from home. Since Oct 2015 - New Kitchen and Appliances, Internet for multiply device’s, Bluetooth Stereo system, Master Bedroom now has new 43”HD TV with Roku, New Sharp HD 55" TV with DVD player, Remolded Living Room

Plantation grounds: Pawley Plantation Golf Club and Resort is as much a family resort as it is a golf course. It is a gated community. Miles of paved roads to walk, bike, roller skate, skateboard or jog, without the fear of busy auto traffic. There are 2 Har Tru surface lighted Tennis courts. The wild life and scenery is like a beautiful bird sanctuary. American Eagles to the smallest finch fly over the marsh and plantation grounds. Moonlight walks under the stars in the evening by the Marsh are a favorite for everyone. Docking for your boat is nearby for around $50 a week. - View Video of entire house and surrounding area video.

Golf Details: Pawleys Plantation Golf Club is open to the public and offers a driving range with sand trap and practice putting area for the whole family. The world famous Phil Riston - Mel Sole Golf School is based here. If interested you must register with them separately.

Links Magazine ranked the top 25 golf islands and a small corner of the Myrtle Beach golf market stood tall. Tiny Pawleys Island was ranked the 10th best golf island, outpolling the likes of Prince Edward, Puerto Rico and New Zealand. The magazine said of Pawleys Island, while recognizing it for offering best bang for your buck, “How can you not go with an island alongside Myrtle Beach, especially when two of the 10 courses are Caledonia and True Blue.” While Caledonia and True Blue, both of which are ranked among America’s top 100 public courses, anchor the considerable golf offerings on Pawleys Island, they are hardly alone. Pawleys Plantation, one of the most scenic courses on the Myrtle Beach golf scene, Heritage Club, a top 100 caliber layout, Willbrook Plantation, Founders Club and Tradition Club are all outstanding tracks. The charms of Pawleys Island extend beyond the golf course. The sprawling live oak trees and lowcountry setting make Pawleys the antithesis of downtown Myrtle Beach, where nightlife and entertainment are rarely more than a block away. None of that is to say Pawleys lacks for fun, it’s just a little more quaint. The area is home to some of the Grand Strand’s best restaurants, highlighted by Bistro 217. When you add it all up, Pawleys Island is certainly worthy of its spot on the Links Magazine list of top 25 golf islands in the world.

Dining, Shopping and Attractions: There are hundreds of restaurants within 15 miles and 2 State Parks on the ocean. The world famous Hammock Shops are close by and numerous other unique shops and many clothing and household outlet's in the Myrtle Beach area.

About Jim McCall

This 400 year old Live Oak Tree and Flower Bed is the view you have from all the rooms of our Home. We have vacationed here since 1996 and have never lost the enchanted felling this natural location offers.

Jim McCall purchased this townhome in 1996

Why Jim McCall chose Pawleys Island

Even though we are on the Golf course at the 12 Hole Tee Box. Golf is only a small reason why we love the area. My wife is a beach person and loves the Beach at Pawleys Island, a short 3 minute ride away. I choose to bike there and back, smiling along the way, as an exercise routine. My children Kyack in the Bay and around the 4 mile Island. There is every kind of fishing available because we are so close to the river ways and ocean. The Pool is just 200 yard walk out the front door. Your back yard is a most beautiful nature walk day or night. The tennis courts have a Har Tru surface.

What makes this townhome unique

None of that is to say Pawleys lacks for fun, it’s just a little more quaint. The area is home to some of the Grand Strand’s best restaurants. When you add it all up, Pawleys Island is certainly worthy of its spot on the Links Magazine list, which was headlined by No. 1 Great Britain, No. 2 Ireland and No. 3 Australia. Despite it’s many virtues, it’s hard for Pawleys Island to compete with entire countries! -

Guestbook comments from the owner

Great week at the beachBVGS Athens,OHReview Submitted: June 24, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008If you are looking for a somewhat quieter beach vacation than Myrtle Beach, this is the place for you. Our family of four spent a week here and had a great time. The villa has plenty of room for everyone with a well-equipped kitchen for cooking meals when you don’t feel like going out. Roadside produce stands provided fresh homegrown fruits and vegetables (peaches, corn, tomatoes, blueberries etc.). If you enjoy Thai food, we had a superb meal at the Blue Elephant in Murrells Inlet. There are only a dozen tables, so call for reservations and its cash/check only—no credit cards. We took a morning trip to Georgetown, 15 minutes south of Pawleys, strolled their waterfront shops and art galleries and had lunch at the historic Thomas Café (order the crabcakes!). Pawleys Island beach is a short drive over a causeway with plenty of public access and was not very crowded. We also spent one day on the sands at Huntington Beach State Park, about 15 minutes up the road. On the advice of the ranger we headed for the north end of the beach; the walk from the parking lot is a little longer than the south beach but we practically had the place to ourselves! There are plenty of beach chairs on hand at the villa and a large beach umbrella. At the end of the day, we parents relaxed out on the screen porch with a glass of wine. It’s a lovely home, very clean, and we would definitely recommend it to others. Thanks Jim for a great beach getaway!Recommended for: Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Families with Young Children

Complete and Total R & R

My husband & I just finished up a week in this lovely condo. It is a beautiful & quiet setting. Had my coffee every morning in the screened porch. Very well appointed and the owner was terrific. Easy to work with. Has all the basics (i.e., dish soap, TP, paper towels, etc) to get your vacation started. Great place to take long walks. The drive to the beach takes all of 6 or 7 minutes and is uncrowded and almost pristine. Multiple restaraunts are just within minutes. We would most definitely stay here again.

Familyof8

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 8 (children & grandchildren) all enjoyed our stay in this spacious condo. We loved the porch & the bird watching very much. It was an easy walk to the pool. It is also a very safe & nice area to ride bikes. Plenty of great restaurants in the area but also the kitchen had everything you need for cooking. We would definitely stay again!

Love it!

  • 5 of 5

We got everything we were looking for at Jim's place! Two couples, one with a baby and a.single man each had their own roomy bedroom and bathroom. The living room was great for babies playtime while the porch was the adults hang out. The kitchen had everything necessary for any meal preparation. We were safe and comfortable in this gated community. Great walking areas with pretty views of the beautiful golf course! We were especially thankful to find the pool open on the last week of April and the beach within 5 minutes away. A great locale all around. Can't wait to go back!

Lovely, comfortable villa and wonderful owner

  • 5 of 5

We spent the holidays here with the children and grandchildren. There was plenty of space for everyone and all of it was very comfortable and welcoming. The kitchen is extremely well-equipped. The property is very clean and well-maintained. The owner is so kind and communicative. It is in a very quiet location. We would definitely recommend this property and hope to stay there again when we visit the area.

Great Stay!

  • 5 of 5

I would first like to say Jim was one of the most informative, kind hearted, easy to deal with owners we have ever dealt with on VRBO. He went out of his way to accommodate our schedule. The rental itself was beautiful, spacious and most importantly to me very clean. I felt at home. The rental is centrally located but at the same time away from the noise, hustle and bustle of beach traffic. We have stayed in Pawleys for years but by far this was the most amazing rental we have had the pleasure of visiting. It was an amazing stay and we will definitely be back again soon.

Owner's Response: Thanks, I am happy to see you enjoyed your time here. I think of my home as - I am sharing it - not renting a house. I am glad so many enjoy what I have the way it is set up. Jim

Hospitality, Communiciations and Service

  • 5 of 5

The McCall Family worked very hard to work with our very limited times and schedule.

Even though we could not work out the arrangements, my wife and I felt very comfortable as if we where in their beautiful home. Emails were returned within hours, and always called as a backup to make sure we where on the same page moving forward.

Pawleys Plantation Golf Club is nestled in Pawleys Island. Pawleys Island is located 24 mile south of Myrtle Beach Airport. We are 10 miles north of Georgetown and 70 miles north of Charleston. In Georgetown County where zoning laws have a 35 ft high building limit so no high-rise buildings. Come see what the beach looked like years ago. Visit the 2 State Parks that surround the Pawleys Island area. See the area for all of it's original beauty. It is an area where the natural beauty of the surroundings still exist. You are within minutes to hundreds of the fabulous restaurants and night life Myrtle Beach has to offer. A great way to view the area.
