This charming, New England saltbox is privately situated on a half acre waterfront lot overlooking Narrow River, a saltwater inlet from Narragansett Bay. The house has a fabulous wrap-around deck with stunning views in all directions. You won't find a better deck for relaxing; sunning; eating; or just enjoying the sunset. The house is approximately 20 years old and is in excellent condition. You'll feel right at home in this house if you love the water and fresh air. The first floor has a large, spacious kitchen, powder room, and living room. The entire first floor provides easy access to the wrap-around deck; the first floor layout is ideal for large families and entertaining. The upstairs has 3 bedrooms and will sleep 8 comfortably. There is an outdoor shower w/ hot water off the deck that is perfect for a quick rinse or shower.
The view is spectacular with wildlife and beautiful sunsets enjoyable from the deck. Kids love to kayak from the property or search for hermit crabs in the shallow water at the edge of the lawn. There is a lot of privacy; only two houses are barely visible from the deck. Kitchen is very well-equipped; no need to get takeout unless you want to.
This vacation rental was great. House is situated on Narrow River with 180 degree views of the water. We brought a canoe and kayak but there were 6 or so kayaks available for our use already in the house. Set up is perfect for those who like to be on the water. Very short paddle to Narragansett ocean beach - and fine for younger children as the approach to the beach is protected by a sand bar that you can paddle up to and park your boats. House itself has good layout and is well equipped. Inside is comfortable but not so upscale that you are concerned to have children in the house. We parked four teenage girls in the bunk room - and they were OK with it - probably reminded them of their college dorm. Deck on back is fantastic - what a great view! Would
The property and home is well-maintained and clean. Very roomy for everyone including the deck. I would definitely recommend this property for families to enjoy a relaxing vacation. The kayaking was a big hit.
Walk out the back door, grab a kayak (four kayaks provided at no additional charge) and you can paddle along the tranquil Narrow River, the #1 kayaking spot in Rhode Island, and enjoy the wildlife preserve. Stop along the inlet at private beaches, accessed only by boat, and enjoy a picnic and/or restful day at the beach. If you are feeling adventurous, you can continue down the inlet into Narragansett Bay just three-quarters of mile away and ride the surf in your ocean kayak.
Located along the scenic New England coastline, the house is just a mile from the Narragansett Town Beach, making a day at the beach or a trip to the shops and restaurants of historic Narragansett Pier both easy excursions. Sand Hill Cove, Scarborough State Beach, and Galilee Fishing Village are all less than ten minutes away.
Other Activities: kayaking; SEVEN kayaks included with rental; best kayaking spot in Rhode Island is in the backyard
