About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms, 4.5 Baths, (Sleeps 8 adults 2 children)

Completely remodeled home updated Fall of 2012. This home is located on the National Forest line in Cascade Village. You can ski down to the lift at Cascade Hotel from our home so there is no messing with parking and long walks with ski gear. You can take the catwalk down to our street after you are done skiing for the day. If you are daring you can make the hill to the back of our porch. The views from the home are amazing, as we are at the top of the hill in Cascade Village and right next to Chair 20. If you don't feel like making it a day of skiing you can just watch the skiers taking the lift or flying right by the house. There is also the beautiful Aria Spa at the base of the hill where you can hang out all day. It is a perfect location for kids and sledding. There is a big sledding hill in our neighborhood and sleds in the garage.

Our house features a brand new Jacuzzi tub. There is world class fly fishing on the Gore River just down the hill from the house. The Gore River is considered Gold Medal water. You will be within walking distance to Lionshead and Vail Village, although in the winter you might want to take the free shuttle that is offered down at the Cascade Hotel. There are many amazing activities for all ages both summer and winter. Don't forget 'Summer's in Vail are amazing too!' There are actually more activities in the summer. This will be a vacation you will never forget!

About The Owner

We are a family of 4 with 2 teenagers. We live in Denver, CO and love to travel! We bought homes in 2 of our favorite locations.... Vail and Costa Rica. You can check out our other listing in Nosara, Costa Rica

The Owner purchased this house in 2001

Why The Owner chose Cascade Village

We bought our home in Cascade Village because we love the location. We have beautiful views all around. It is all about the location. We sit right on the national forest and right next to the last chair lift in Vail. So we have easy access to everything. We love it here! We spend most of our summers up in Vail with our kids when our home is not being rented.

What makes this house unique

Close enough to the other villages with the benefit of it being quiet and having privacy.

Exceptionally warm and inviting

  • 5 of 5

We took our 3 daughters and spouses for a quick four day ski excursion. The home is extremely comfortable with all the amenities needed, including such items as family games and robes for using the hot tub. We loved the instant on gas fireplace. The towels, sheets, furniture, everything.... seemed to be up to date or brand new. Each of the 4 bedrooms has its own bathroom, making privacy easy. Snow amounts did not allow ski in/ski out this week, however, we found the free drop off parking at Lionshead Village a couple of miles away made a quick walk to the lifts. Not all in our 8 person group skied, so hiking access to the trails along the mountain stream and the resort spa at the neighborhood entrance offered additional activities during the day for non skiers. I wish I could have recorded the laughter of all eight of us around the table playing evening games. We truly enjoyed our stay.

Gorgeous Property above Cascade Village

  • 5 of 5

Our group loved the house. Views of lift 20. Hot tub, fireplace, heated garage and heated driveway were highlights. Furnishings & finishes are all very nicely done. Only "but" is this is not a true Ski in ski out.... IF it dumped 6-12 inches the night before, an expert skier could probably ski out to the cascade cat walk, but I can't imagine anyone skiing back to the house. Rather you must walk up to get home (or down to ski) a road approx 500-1000 ft. Not bad but not skiing in from a run as expected prior to arrival

Owner's Response: Hi Jesse, Glad you enjoyed the house! Normally it is very easy to get to the lift from our house. The snow situation in Vail has not been that great February and March because of our spring temperatures early, the snow pack is low. It is a short walk to that gate and normally when the snow is good you can put your skis on right at the gate and ski down to the catwalk. It does not take an expert skier to get to the catwalk but most definitely to ski to the house. Our location to the lift is the reason we bought our home because parking in Vail is a nightmare, most times the garages are full and overflow is on the streets, or you have to get on the shuttle bus to get to the lifts. Sorry the snow levels weren't better for the skiing in our area. I hope you come back again. Thanks Jesse for your review!

Wonderful ski home

  • 5 of 5

The house is perfectly situated, warm and comfortable. We had 7 guys for a getaway weekend and the house was perfect for our needs. It is ski out for intermediate skiers and ski in for the brave and experienced skiers.

We recommend it highly and would definitely rent it again. MIchelle was a pleasure to deal with.

Felt like home in a wonderful location

  • 5 of 5

Staying in the house felt like we were in a good friends home. Very comfortable, well equipped and such a wonderful location. Getting to the chairlift in the morning is a breeze and the hot tub is a welcome end to the day after skiing. Michelle was a delight to deal with. It was a privilege to stay.

Perfect Vail location

  • 5 of 5

What a great property. We stayed for 4 nights and really enjoyed the location and amenities of this house. A close walk to a ski out chair lift and easy to return after a long day of skiing.

The owner was really great to us and she helped accommodate our travel plans a few times. Would rent this property, or any property with this owner again. House is well maintained and very comfortable all around. Hot tub is a bonus too.

Great house

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in this house. We are 2 families from Florida, trying to escape the heat and get some skiing in. The house had every amenity we needed, especially the kitchen. The house is beautifully furnished, and the location is great, especially if you have a car. The walk down the hill to the shuttle is not bad, but the walk back up can be a killer, especially if you have stuff to carry! We would rent this house again!
