About Michelle Brooks
We are a family of 4 with 2 teenagers. We live in Denver, CO and love to travel! We bought homes in 2 of our favorite locations.... Vail and Costa Rica. You can check out our other listing in Nosara, Costa Rica www.vrbo.com/776418
Michelle Brooks purchased this House in 2001
Why Michelle Brooks chose Vail Ski Resort
We bought our home in Cascade Village because we love the location. We have beautiful views all around. It is all about the location. We sit right on the national forest and right next to the last chair lift in Vail. So we have easy access to everything. We love it here! We spend most of our summers up in Vail with our kids when our home is not being rented.
What makes this House unique
Close enough to the other villages with the benefit of it being quiet and having privacy.
Minimum age of primary renter:21
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
West Vail Mountain Charmer!
Set amongst an Aspen grove, this private mountain side home has views that kick your private West Vail experience up a notch. There’s no i70 traffics noise, no late night loudness, no condo congestion only peaceful mountainside privacy. Our group of expert skiers (and you must be able to handle variable conditions and some tight trees to ski down to this “slope side” home) LOVED the pow shots on the last run down to the Adirondack chairs and outside fire pit which extended the day with beverages outside next to the hot tub. There are some sick lines through the West Vail trees but do your research, you can get choked out in a draw if too far west. Or take the obvious and less hazardous route under the chair, which still requires a high level of skill. We were blessed by Ullr with pow and cold temps which are needed to ski down to the house on this west-ish facing slope which gets sun throughout the day and bakes the snow if temps rise. No worries though, very easy to download chair #20, or free bus back from the village and hit apres at Hotel Talisa and either walk back (about a 10 min uphill walk) or hitch a ride. Ski out is easy. Click on your boards beside the hot tub, ski down from the house, slope side of the road, past the private gate, down the private road to link up with the skier bridge and trail which leads you to Chair 20 and a lift ticket purchase window. There is a very small uphill section to the chair which you need to skate up, or walk. Easy.
We loved the home’s comfort. Club chairs and couches in the the living room for our group of big guys. We had our cook off with the rack of Bison taking the prize and the stocked kitchen performed beautifully! All the pans, utensils, flatware, wine glasses even spices and supplies were available. Very much appreciated!
Bedrooms and beds are very comfortable! All en-suites. Bathrooms are plentiful to support a large group, and the upstairs queen has one of the best ski bedroom views looking uphill to through the aspens to chairlift I’ve experienced! Two car garage, with room for another in the driveway, clear home instructions, good music sound system and an owner who is absolutely a pleasure to organize and execute your stay! Stop looking. Score this West Vail Mountainside Charmer!
Thanks so much for the great review!! Glad you enjoyed your stay😊
Perfect Ski House!
This property was absolutely perfect! It is so close to chairlift 20 that never had a line so we were easily able to get up the mountain and start our day. There are also shuttles that run from the hotel down the road, so you can easily get into Lionshead or Vail Village. The house itself was stocked with everything we needed for our stay and was very clean. The owners were super friendly and easy to communicate with. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend!
Perfect in every way for a family ski trip
Location, location, location for a Vail ski trip -- only a short distance from the Cascade Lift -- where there is NEVER a line. While it isn't in Lion's Head or Vail Villiage, it is a relatively short walk and there is free shuttle service 5 minutes away at the nearby Telisa resort. Great family home with everything we needed -- and yes, a great hot tub were you can watch skiers going up the mountain on the lift.
Perfect for Christmas
We spent a week over Christmas with our 10 person family and it was beautiful. Lovely home, well-stocked kitchen, grill and hot tub were used often. Skiing was amazing.
Glad you guys had a great time!!
Exceptionally warm and inviting
We took our 3 daughters and spouses for a quick four day ski excursion. The home is extremely comfortable with all the amenities needed, including such items as family games and robes for using the hot tub. We loved the instant on gas fireplace. The towels, sheets, furniture, everything.... seemed to be up to date or brand new. Each of the 4 bedrooms has its own bathroom, making privacy easy. Snow amounts did not allow ski in/ski out this week, however, we found the free drop off parking at Lionshead Village a couple of miles away made a quick walk to the lifts. Not all in our 8 person group skied, so hiking access to the trails along the mountain stream and the resort spa at the neighborhood entrance offered additional activities during the day for non skiers. I wish I could have recorded the laughter of all eight of us around the table playing evening games. We truly enjoyed our stay.
Gorgeous Property above Cascade Village
Our group loved the house. Views of lift 20. Hot tub, fireplace, heated garage and heated driveway were highlights. Furnishings & finishes are all very nicely done. Only "but" is this is not a true Ski in ski out.... IF it dumped 6-12 inches the night before, an expert skier could probably ski out to the cascade cat walk, but I can't imagine anyone skiing back to the house. Rather you must walk up to get home (or down to ski) a road approx 500-1000 ft. Not bad but not skiing in from a run as expected prior to arrival
Glad you enjoyed the house! Normally it is very easy to get to the lift from our house. The snow situation in Vail has not been that great February and March because of our spring temperatures early, the snow pack is low. It is a short walk to that gate and normally when the snow is good you can put your skis on right at the gate and ski down to the catwalk. It does not take an expert skier to get to the catwalk but most definitely to ski to the house. Our location to the lift is the reason we bought our home because parking in Vail is a nightmare, most times the garages are full and overflow is on the streets, or you have to get on the shuttle bus to get to the lifts.
Sorry the snow levels weren't better for the skiing in our area. I hope you come back again.
Thanks Jesse for your review!
Full access to the Aria Spa and Gym at the Hotel Talisa just down the hill from the house for only $30/a day. This spa is one of the best in Vail. Highly recommended!!
