About the property

3 bedrooms, 2 baths, garden waterfall pool & jacuzzi, sleeps 6

PRIVATE ISLAND PARADISE - This unique home is hidden on a quarter acre garden lot (1,020 sq m.) surrounded by palms, birds of paradise, tropical plants and a 6 ft fence. Few island homes offer this degree of privacy. SPACIOUS ELEGANCE - This custom home has 2,600 sq ft (240 sq m.) of ground level indoor living space . Every room enjoys sunny, private garden views. CONVENIENT SPLIT FLOORPLAN: The queen bed master suite with private bath is at the west end. The east end has 2 guest bedrooms (queen bed + twin beds) with a bath with tub in between. PRIVATE GARDEN POOL - The fully screened pool and front lanai add 1,800+ sq ft of outdoor living space. The waterfall pool features a jacuzzi spa (heated in the cool season). DIGITAL FEATURES - Rental includes wireless broadband Internet, digital phone with unlimited long distance in the US and Canada, premium cable TV with digital TV recorder, and XM satellite radio with indoor and pool speakers.

Your home away from home: We've maintained a home on Anna Maria Island since 1983. From 2001-2005 we built and operated a resort on the island. After selling the resort we missed welcoming new people to paradise! We renovated this custom home and began offering it for rental in 2007.

We love the island and will do anything we can to make your visit as pleasant and relaxing as possible. Show up with food, drink, bathing suits and some sandals and we'll provide the rest. (-:

Personal tips to enjoy the island like a native: When you arrive we provide personal orientation for our guests, sharing the best restaurant, shopping and beach tips that we've picked up over the last 25 years(!). Local maps, guide books and newspapers will be waiting for you on arrival and we'll help you find the special activities you're looking for.

Ask before you pack...it should all be here!: We've done our best to make sure your home has everything. You'll arrive to find first class linens, bedding, cooking equipment, toys, hairdryers, etc. We also provide a starter set of paper goods (paper towels, coffee filters, napkins, toilet paper, tissues), trash bags, dishwashing liquid, laundry detergent, etc. Your kitchen has a selection of spices and condiments. There are DVD movies, loads of books and a few select games (Monopoly, Scattergories, playing cards, etc.). It's also helpful to know that the public library is less than a mile south of us with books, videos, periodicals and public computers. Finally, the garage has every beach toy and accessory invented. (-: Floats, rafts, buckets, shovels, mats, chairs, umbrellas, coolers. Really if you bring some casual beach wear and flip flops you'll be in good shape!

Wonderful home! Owners are lovely, the house is beautiful and the pool is fantastic!

  • 5 of 5

This house has a true indoor/outdoor feel with an amazing pool in the backyard, open living areas, and a great screened porch. The pool and spa are heated which was very nice, and they are screened in so it was shady. Kent and Pa were great owners who truly wanted to make sure we enjoyed our trip. The house was clean and is obviously very well kept! We walked to the beach every day at least once, and most days multiple times. For us it was an easy walk. Our girls enjoyed the bikes as well! We took a day trip to the Mote Aquarium with lunch at the Salty Dog - yum! We also had dinner one night at the Sand Bar and walked home - a long walk but worth it to see the stars on the beach. And of course the trolley to Two Scoops! The trolley stop is only a block away. This house is fun, beautiful and in a great location! We'll be back!

Best pool ever

  • 5 of 5

We've stayed here twice. This is a great house with tons of room to relax. On what amounts to an ami double lot, you have everything you could need. And the best pool on the island. Only downside, distance to the beach makes it hard for a casual walk, especially with kids that have to use the bathroom essentially all the time. Kent and Pa are best vrbowners I've come across.

Owner's Response: It was great welcoming you back! Even though the beach is only two minutes by car (according to Google Maps) we *still* drive because we take so much stuff! Coolers, umbrella, toys, chairs, books, drinks, towels, food, etc. Beach bathrooms are another thing... best island beaches with them are 1. Tampa Bay Beach at the north end on the bay side between Anna Maria City Pier and Rod and Reel Pier and 2. Manatee Public Beach right in the center of the island. Hope you can try 'em next visit!

Charming and Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay! The accommodations were wonderful, and the hosts very helpful and kind. All the details of the home added a lot of character and charm. The pool and hot tub area was beautiful and our favorite place to hang out! The location was within easy walking distance to he beach, and easy biking distance to anything else on the island. I would definitely recommend this place to others and stay there again when I return to Anna Maria.

Just a wonderful vacation spot!

  • 5 of 5

All we can say is thank you Pa and Kent. Their house is a perfect paradise on AMI. The exotic screened in pool, space, and cleanliness are top notch. Our family of 5 thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return. Pa and Kent were great, they stopped by at the beginning and end of our trip and even made sure we had enough bikes for all. The house amenities (speakers at the pool, hot tub, slide, big screen tv) really added to our stay. Thanks Pa and Kent for everything.

What an amazing vacation!!!

  • 5 of 5

We just got back from a wonderful week here. The pictures don't do the house justice. We lived in the pool & hot tub. Very short walk or bike ride to the beach (72nd St.), and what a nice beach it was. Such a laid back island. Kent & Pa are fantastic people to rent from - very accommodating, and do everything possible to make sure you have a wonderful time. We will definitely be back again.

Owner's Response: We're delighted that you had a ball. We LOVED your comment that when you pulled up the home "looked kind of ordinary"... until you got inside. (-: We look forward to welcoming you back!

BEACHES - Anna Maria Island has 7 miles of unique beaches. Wherever you stay, you'll want to visit a few to discover your favorite beach for swimming, walking, dining, bird-watching, playgrounds, shelling or privacy. Parking everywhere is easy and free. The beach is a 3 minute bike ride from our home (we've timed it), or less than a 10 minute walk. The island's free trolley service stops at every beach. CAR? - A car is *desirable* but not essential. It depends on you. A family of 6 really needs a car for food, shopping and taking kids to the different beaches. But a couple looking to read, swim, relax and hide out for a romantic week might consider using the free bikes and island trolley to get around. FOOD & SHOPPING? Anna Maria Island has plenty of restaurants, unique local shopping with a Publix supermarket, CVS and Walgreen pharmacies just 2 miles south (accessible by Trolley too). Once you come over the island drawbridge you won't want to leave...and you won't have to!

Other Activities: dolphin watching, fine dining

Golf: There are no public golf courses on Anna Maria Island but the Bradenton Country Club is only 8 miles east and gets good reviews from players. There are a number of other courses in the Bradenton-Sarasota area within about a 45 minute drive.
