The Location: Siren's Song is located within an exclusive 400+ acre development, The Preserve at Botany Bay, which currently has 10 large homes on 2.5 to 15 acre lots, and a security gate manned 24/7. Siren’s Song is perched on its 2.5+ acre gated lot of cliff top land, with 700 ft of water front. A 5 min stroll takes you to the beach at Mermaids Chair, a sand bar that separates the Atlantic Ocean from the Caribbean Sea and connects St Thomas to a small island to the West, called Little St Thomas, owned by the Nature Conservancy. The beaches of sand shells, corals and pebbles are constantly changing with the winds and the tides. Just off shore the unspoiled coral reefs are alive with a multitude of live hard and soft corals and many different species of tropical fish. Your neighbors are Siren's Song's owners who live on the adjacent lot and are happy to assist if needed. The living area, dining area, five bedrooms and outdoor terrace have balconies with stunning 250+ degree sea views of uninhabited islands. On a clear day you can see St Croix to the South and Puerto Rico to the West. If you yearn for peace, serenity and tranquility away from crowds and traffic, and want an unforgettable island experience that few have been privileged to share, then Siren's Song will enchant you, yet its only a 20 min drive to downtown, abundant with activities and world class restaurants.

I am Lynda and I have lived in the US Virgin Islands for 24 years. The first 10 years within the National Park on St John, and thereafter at Botany Bay, which is so much nicer than St John. My husband Marshall has lived on St Thomas for 19 years. We have retired here and love it so much we have even built our crypt!
Lynda Hartmann purchased this villa in 2005
We built Siren's Song on the lot adjacent to our own home. We just love it here and although we travel the world, we have never found anything, anywhere more wonderful than this location.
Peace, serenity, space, amazing views, fabulous night skies - all away from the maddening crowds; yet very convenient being only 8 miles from the airport, 7 miles from lots of restaurants and bars, 15 miles from the golf club, etc
We had a fabulous vacation, the best ever. Siren's Song villa is great and had everything we needed. The location is amazing, better than anywhere on St John and so much more convenient, being only 15 min drive from Charlotte Amalie and the airport. Sandy Bay beach within the Preserve at Botany Bay is pristine white sand and most of the time we were the only people there. It is the best beach any of us had ever found. Mermaids Chair beach is wonderful with a mixture of sand, corals and shells washed up by the tide, fun for beach combing. We loved snorkeling amongst the corals the wide variety of tropical fish. We saw a turtle.
Siren’s Song exceeded all our expectations, which were very high. This villa and its surroundings are absolutely spectacular. We’ve stayed many times in the Caribbean, but nothing else comes close to Siren’s Song, which is spacious and very well appointed with every amenity we could wish for. The views are incredible and magnificent. The location is private, serene and peaceful - its like being on a private island and yet only a 15 minutes drive to all the activities of Charlotte Amalie.
This is the best family vacation ever. There are 14 of us and we can all eat together around the 12 ft dining table. The infinity edge pool with built in seats is just great for all ages. The peaceful lower gardens are ideal to relax and read a good book. The kids can kick around balls on the “tennis court” sized lawns. We have never before seen night skies with such clarity, because there is no light pollution at Siren’s Song.
We really enjoy being so close to Mermaids Chair beach and strolling down in a few minutes whenever we feel like it. We haven’t seen another person on the beach our entire stay.
Our family of 11 spent a week at this beautiful house. The accommodations were great along with the pool and private beach. There was plenty of room and we were very comfortable. We had 7 adults and 4 children - ages 7, 5, 15 months and 9 months. We were very close to mermaids chair and also enjoyed a nearby beach called the Sandy Beach where the big kids body surfed. Please be aware of the construction at sandy beach so use caution. Megan's bay which was about 40 mts away was another beautiful spot to spend the day. Beautiful sand, water and activities plus a restaurant. We had groceries delivered to the house which was very helpful. Lynda was quick to respond when we had questions prior to our arrival as well as the caretaker of the property. The location was private and we felt safe. Lots of memories were made at this beautiful home.
OUR GROUP HAD A TREMENDOUS STAY AT SIRENS SONG, LYNDA MADE SURE EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT BEFORE WE ARRIVED AND HER RECOMMENDATION OF KAT FOR OUR MEALS WAS EXCELLENT. THE VILLA HAS TREMENDOUS VIEWS, WHETHER YOU PREFER THE BEACH OR THE POOL BOTH ARE FANTASTIC AND VERY PRIVATE, WITH YOUR OWN ISLAND TO EXPLORE. WE HOPE TO RETURN IN THE FUTURE
This house is way better in person than photos could ever capture. We rented it for a bachelorette party and it was perfect. We all loved the house, the pool, the private beach, the setting and, in particular, the caring and outstanding hospitality of Lynda and Marshall. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed for the week, and both were so very helpful in the planning and organizing such a large event.
We all cannot recommend this house enough, and thank Lynda and Marshall a thousand times over.
Beautiful, clean and more-than-memorable!!!
Everything on this site does not do the house justice. Lynda and Marshall were incredibly helpful and accommodating and made sure we were comfortable for the duration of our trip. The house was perfect, the views were better than any photo could offer, the rooms were clean and the air conditioning made for great nights sleep after long days out in the sun. It was very nice that The Preserve was in a gated area so you felt safe and comfortable when you were running around, leaving the doors unlocked.
For such a large house, the kitchen was great and there was enough seating for large families! One of my favorite parts of the stay was the private beach. Lynda and Marshall have everything you need so you never have to carry chairs - it's all down there for you! They have a tent, chairs and even kayaks.
If you can rent this place out, do it immediately. It was really hard to leave because we had such an amazing trip, it felt like a dream. Thank you Marshall and Lynda for your help and allowing us to stay at your beautiful home!
