This is really a Heavens View! Tom and Dianna have left nothing out of this home. Everything that you would need or want is in this home. Beautiful home and yard. The flowers are so beautiful and smell so good. It rained one day and they have some great DVD's to watch. They also provide you with a computer so you can keep in touch with things going on at home and work if need be. We enjoyed the campfires and fishing everyday. On this trip we had our son and daughter-in-law and their dog's with us and there was plenty of room for all of us. They dogs really enjoyed the house and yard. We would all like to come back again in the future.
This home was so clean!!
Dianna met us at the house to give us an overview of the area and the house shortly after our arrival. She also checked on us a day later to make certain we found everything in order, which it was.
We booked on short notice and found the house to be very clean and organized. The house is equipped with EVERYTHING you can think of from spices and pantry items to board games, movies, small appliances (coffee maker, Foreman grill, mixer, toaster, breadmaker and MORE ), binoculars, plenty of towels and linens, toiletries and hairdryer, internet and cable tv. You will be hard pressed to find a better equipped/stocked home anywhere. There's plenty of seating inside and out to enjoy the views. The screened in, heated sunroom/porch also provides additional seating. You have a choice of using a charcoal or gas grill and a fire pit. The gardens around the house and the yard is well kept and beautiful, even in the fall.
We dined at Joan's Cafe in Hustisford, The Rock River Tap in Horicon and at Maria's Taqueria in Waterford -- all very good and reasonably priced with good service. Be sure to save room for the churros at Maria's Taqueria!
In the area we enjoyed the seasonal Marsh Boat Tour, visiting the Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center (Explorium) and trails which are very easy to walk and vary in length from .25 boardwalk to 2.3 miles and the Auto Tour at the Horicon National Wildlife Refuge --where we saw a whooping crane!! We also enjoyed using the fire pit, the sunrises, sunsets and the birds coming to the feeders at the house. There were gold and purple finches, chickadees, nuthatches, cardinals, and 3 kinds of woodpeckers.
My one regret is we only booked 4 nights! I am a travel agent and am accustomed to scrutinizing properties. I could not find fault with anything at this property. We hope to return and definitely recommend this home to our family, friends and you.
Heavens View is a peaceful place. The cabin is perfect. The yard outdoor lakefront area is fabulous. The owners were very accommodating in providing everything we needed for our stay. Thanks for helping us make wonderful family memories.
The house is very clean and comfortable. The living room is HUGE and has an open concept so you never feel cramped. The master bedroom and bathrooms are very large too. Don't book this if you want to go swimming, as there is no place to get into the water - all rocks. And BYO firewood, as the wood in the shed is too damp to burn. Overall, very nice accommodations.
The hosts were kind enough to let us stay on super short notice. We only had a little time to look at properties to purchase on this lake. This is a huge 2br, a lot of room for only 2 people, easily would accommodate whole families. There is a great sun room to eat dinner in, and a outside table if you'd like that. The place is meticulous clean, plenty of everything and decorated with love. The kitchen had better dishes, silverware, pans, and spices, than we have at home. Outside there is plenty to do, movable furniture to follow the sunset, (oh and its gorgeous) or lounge in the sun, or have a evening fire. We loved our stay, and appreciate that the owners went over and above to get us in on short notice. They recommended some nice places to eat, and are nice down to earth people. We will stay there again, but we are probably going to buy on this lake, everyone in and around this lake is so nice, friendly, and helpful.
Heavens View is a clean, charming and comfortable accommodation. The rooms are well furnished, the provisions are plentiful, and the hosts, Diana and Tom, are a delight to work with. They provided the specific things we requested are were present, but not intrusive. They are the consummate hosts. I would recommend without hesitation.
Guests can enjoy the many lake activities, birds, and wild life. Canadian geese, ducks, owls, egrets, pelicans, deer, beaver, turkeys and other species of birds are your neighbors. Eagles have made a home on lake Sinnissippi within 10 minutes of the property either by land or water. Weather permitting, a Pontoon cruise is included with every weekly rental. The area is noted for the Horicon Marsh State and Federal Refuge. All of the wildlife and birds makes this a spectacular vacation.
In winter there is snowmobiling, 4 wheeling, and car races on the lake. There are several ski-hills within a half hours drive.
Area events include Lake-fest (July), Venitian night (August), Audubon Days (Oct), Toilet Bowl (New Years Day), Car races on the lake in January/February, Rock River Fest (June).
