Love this place

  • 5 of 5

Didn't know what to expect when we arrived but were totally charmed by the cottage and beach! It's my new happy place. Loved the sound of the waves, the absolute quiet and slower pace of life. Owners were very responsive to our questions. There's something very peaceful about watching the tide go in and out. As well, the view of the bridge was incredible, especially at sunset. The surrounding area was wonderful - we especially loved the church at Indian River - attended a wonderful jazz concert there and the sound was awesome. We're already trying to fit another visit into our schedule. The cottage is well appointed - lots of pots and pans and plates, etc. Fridge is a good size. The plus for us was the gas stove. The neighbors were really friendly and the Roadside Gallery (about 1/4 mile from the cottage) was great - good chowder and lots of things to buy:) Fresh cut fries at the Red Rooster were the best. Saw a bald eagle and its nest, a red fox and other wildlife. Beach is perfect, perfect, perfect. Explored a lot of the island and loved everything we saw, but when we arrived back at the cottage, our world just fell into place. Nothing like a glass of wine watching the sun go down. A wonderful vacation!

Couldn't ask for more!

The house was spotless and the location perfect! First, the house. It was immaculate upon arrival! Plenty of pots and pans (and nice, sharp knives...which are often missing in vacation rentals), plenty of dishes, and everything else we needed for our meals at 'home'. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of seating for the 4 of us. Also, plenty of towels.

Second, the location. You really can't beat this spot. We would go explore P.E.I. every day, and every day when we got back the ocean was waiting for us, just a few steps down a wooden ladder. My husband and 4 year old daughter spent hours exploring and leaping from sandbar to sandbar at low tide and I could watch them from the spacious back porch with the baby.

The views of the bridge are beautiful and the moon over the ocean is something I won't soon forget. It's a beautiful, peaceful place and perfect for a family to enjoy.

Finally, the owners. I've never had such quick responses. The owner would answer my questions and get back to me within minutes.

All around it was a wonderful experience and we couldn't have asked for more. Thank you!

oh, what place to spend a holiday!

  • 5 of 5

the first thing that draws you in are the pictures here on this website, which by the way, do not do the place justice. the owners are lovely, helpful people. there were 4 people in our party and when we walked in we could see it would not feel confining. small looking on the outside, but once you walk in it felt very spacious. the interior decor was perfect. and what can be said about the awesomely large deck with the hammock. stress free holidaying at its best. we rented for 2 weeks and it went by so fast. the cottage was private but you did not feel alone. then there is the view to describe, which by the way is almost to hard. walking along the shoreline, the sunrise and sunset, the lane to the highway for strolling...there are no words that can convey just how beautiful that whole area is. the drive to summmerside was quick and easy. the first day we went in for supplies and on the return we got a little lost in the dark, but a lovely lady who worked in a corner store not far from the cottage got us straightened out. after that we had absolutely no problems. a very nicely central place to get from one side of the island to the other. i would totally and happily re-rent the cottage again.

Wonderful holiday - Thanks Aiden and Marissa

  • 5 of 5

We rented the Capes at Augustine Cove sight unseen for our family holiday which included 5 adults and 2 babies, 7 months and 15 months. We found it to be everything we hoped it would be and much more. It was extremely clean, well maintained, nicely decorated and very well stocked with all the necessities we needed. Aiden and Marissa thought of everything! Play pen, umbrellas, movies, games, all cleaning supplies and even doggie treats. The only thing we had to supply was our own food and drinks!! I would highly recommend renting this beautiful cottage with an amazing view of the Confederation Bridge to anyone! Thanks again for renting this wonderful cottage to us... we will be back!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage on Augustine Cove. The cottage is so nicely decorated. The beach and the view were awesome. When outfitting the cottage these folks thought of everything. Thanks so much and we will definitely be back.

Hate to say this but......

OK...I have to spill the beans. I wanted to keep this gorgeous home away from home all for myself and not tell a soul but I have to share this paradise. Talk about a perfect cottage to stay in! Oh, it was so wonderful, clean and well maintained. Everything was there that anyone could imagine to have in a cottage by the sea. Right down to umbrellas and sewing supplies!! There was wine and chocolate to greet us on a table as soon as we opened the door. The cottage is centrally located on the Island and it is a hop, skip and jump to just about everywhere including the Confederation Bridge. The sea is right there and very private. I think we seen about 10 people the entire week we were there. Beautiful red sand and cliffs abound! I felt like I was living in a Better Homes and Gardens magazine the way the cottage was decorated. The pictures on the website do not do it justice. The bathroom is as nice as the rest of the house! Being able to wash and dry our clothes right there in the cottage was such a time saver. The deck was wonderful with plenty of chairs, recliners, table and of course the hammock. The sea tide lulled us to sleep every night and there was a nice gentle breeze that kept us very comfortable day and night. Beautiful area and very nice neighbors. We felt safe and relaxed. I do hope we can go back again to Canada's best kept secret. Thank you so much for allowing us to enjoy your cottage from July 2 - 9, 2011!
