Wherry, 2-bedroom Riverside Cottage On The Banks Of The River Bure, Wroxham

Bedrooms 2
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 3 - 7 nights

About the property

2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, sleeps 4

Fantastic views of the river and iconic Wroxham Bridge from 2 aspects of every room in this 2 bedroom (double and twin) cottage with recently refurbished kitchen and bathroom. Wake up to the gentle sound of the river wildlife and enjoy breakfast sitting on your raised, covered private terrace overlooking the river. Take a stroll around the private marina gardens for a drink or meal in the marina's own bistro, The Shed.

A further 5 minute walk around the sightseeing tour boats brings you to Wroxham bridge, from which you can look back to your cottage across the river. Book your sightseeing boat tour here, or take a day boat for a self-drive trip around Wroxham and Wroxham Broad, or go down river to Horning to stop for a riverside pub lunch or picnic. Stay in Wroxham and visit the many riverside pubs, restaurants and cafes, or pick up a takeaway or visit the local supermarket for your self-catering needs. Visit the gift and souvenir shops. Go on the Bure Valley Steam railway for a nostalgic trip to Aylsham. When you've had enough, back to the cottage to sit outside and simply watch the entertainment of all the boats passing by and trying to negotiate the notoriously low bridge. As the evening comes in enjoy the view of the lights on the opposite river bank glistening off the water.

Don't forget, you're home-from-home. So sit back and watch your favourite programmes on your 32' TV / DVD (Freeview) .At the end of the day enjoy a nice shower or full size bath in the recently refurbished bathroom. Both bedrooms have a 19' TV / DVD (Freeview). All rooms are full ceiling height, and have thermostatically controlled wall-mounted electric heaters. All hot water and electric is now included in the price. Beds will be made up with clean linen for your arrival, and each guest is provided with a hand and bath towel.

Our cottage managers will greet you on arrival, and will be on hand to help you with any problems.

The cottage is available for family holidays and fishing breaks, so is also well equipped for the colder winter days. The living room also has a radiant electric fire to keep you cozy after a day's fishing, and the spacious entrance porch / cloakroom is ideal fro storing wet fishing tackle or boating gear.

Wherry Cottage. Great loacation

  • 4 of 5

Much needed break booked at a quiet time of the year.

Good communication from The Owner David Beard made for easy booking and information .

Found Wherry Cottage location to be as described, in an excellent position on The Peninsula, with great views and easy access to Wroxham. The cottage was clean and found the bed to be very comfortable [ Best sleep for a while ]. Enjoyed a nice cruise on the Broads.

All in all we had a very RELAXING stay

Fantastic Waterside Property in Wroxham

  • 5 of 5

The Cottage was clean and fresh on arrival and in one of the best locations for watching activities around Wroxham bridge. The owner was very helpful with our questions and requirements for the week. We wanted the hire of a day boat, this was arranged and much enjoyed by a family age range 16 to 56! Wroxham for shopping and food was great and appealed to all ages. Fishing from the door was enjoyed along with safe parking for cars. Roys cooked chickens and some fresh cooked chips, the carvery at the Kings Head was great value and the Royale for pizza, kebabs, Indian and burgers was amazingly good with free delivery to the cottage. We enjoyed some beers at The Shed who will for a small fee lay you a table and clear the mess up after a take away. A good, clean cottage in a great area, many thanks David.

Wroxham is generally acknowledged as the capital of the Norfolk Broads. It is the centre of the boating activity, as the starting point for a variety of guided sightseeing boat tours, day boat hire, and boatyards and marinas. A whole community has evolved here over the past 100 years or so offering a full range of shops, pubs, restaurants, cakes, supermarket and all essential services. The Bure Valley Steam Raiway starts it's 18 mile all round trip to Aylsham from here, and new for 2014 is the Miniature Worlds massive model railway village.

Wroxham also serves as a convenient hub to visit a long stretch of the Norfolk coastline including the seaside resorts of Gt Yarmouth, Cromer and Sheringham as well as a large number of villages with sandy beaches, all within a 15 mile range along different routes.
