NO FIRE DAMAGE IN THIS AREA!!!

This cabin has been used for numerous honeymoons and anniversaries. In addition, there have been at least 3 weddings performed in the cabin. On the other hand, it has also been used as a retreat when families have lost loved ones or to escape from an otherwise stressful life.

Relax in the rocking chairs on the front porch or the ones on the back porch. In cooler weather, relax in front of the fireplace & enjoy the beautiful mountains through the floor to ceiling glass wall in the main living area. You can also relax in the whirlpool tub in the master bedroom or the hot tub on the back porch (the main picture was taken from the hot tub).

The cabin is on 2 1/2 acres of land and very private. From the living room sleeper sofa or recliner or from the back porch rockers or hot tub, you see no other cabins/houses, just the woods, wildlife, and Blush Mountain in the distance. Fall foliage is spectacular!

The master bedroom has a king size log bed, flat screen TV, DVD player, and whirlpool tub. Adjacent to the bedroom is a full bathroom with shower/tub combination.

There is 1 step up to the front porch & another step up to the main part of the cabin which has the dine-in kitchen, master bedroom .

There is 1 step down from the main floor to the back porch which has the charcoal bar-b-que grill, rockers, & hot tub.

The 2nd bedroom & full bathroom (shower/tub combination) are located in the loft. It features a Hautman Brothers bedspread and another Hautman Brothers lamp shade. There is a flat screen TV, XBox 360 with video games & board games.

The living room is equiped with a 32' flatscreen TV with DVD. The master bedroom has another flat screen TV with DVD player. DVD movies and books are provided for your enjoyment and relaxation.

All the attractions along the Parkway in Pigeon Forge are only about 5 - 10 minutes away, while Dollywood and the national park are only about 10-15 minutes away. Snow skiing, Ripley's aquarium and museums are about 20-30 minutes away in Gatlinburg.

Why Andy Carver chose Tennessee

The property has plenty of privacy located on 2 1/2 acres of land, but it's only about 4 miles (10 minutes) to the parkway in Pigeon Forge where all the shows, restaurants, etc. are located. It's also only about 30 minutes to the national park, tubing, zip lines, horseback riding, snow skiing, etc.

What makes this cabin unique

The privacy, scenery, & location make this an ideal location for a family, but it's also an ideal location for a romantic getaway. It has been used frequently for anniversaries, & honeymoons. In addition, AT LEAST 3 WEDDINGS HAVE BEEN PERFORMED IN THIS CABIN.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We was very happy with our stay. The cabin was very nice. Very clean. It had everything we needed. It was decorative so nice. My girl's did not want to leave the whole time we was there. We can't wait to go back next year.

Peaceful porch brings much relaxation

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was nice but needed some tlc. Very little privacy with the loft (tough for teenage daughters). Although the cabin is dog friendly, there is little green space for bathroom and no area to run around...ideal for a small dog. There was a meadow about a 1/4 mile away where we were able to run the dog otherwise steep roads.

The waterfalls mentioned in the photos are about a mile away.

The cabin is very peaceful and the back porch was my favorite place to sit and read or just relax. We also really enjoyed the hot tub.

Andy was very responsive and helpful.

Owner's Response: I don't feel that the negative comments are justified. First a "loft" by definition is open above a living area. This loft is no different, but those below can't see up into the loft, so not sure how much more "private" is to be expected in a loft. The comment about no bathroom area for the dog is also a puzzling since the cabin is on 2 1/2 acres of land. Granted, there isn't much grass, but that's because grass doesn't grow in the woods & the cabin is surrounded by trees which provides the privacy which we like. The guest may have given less than favorable comments & a lower star rating because they had the advantage of seeing how I rated them before they submitted their rating. My rating of this guest was generally favorable, but with lower marks for cleanliness. My rating was based on pictures sent to me by my cleaners of double handfuls of dog hair on the floor & dog hair on the sheets. The cleaners said it took them an additional 3 1/2 hours to clean because all the dog hair. Because of the excessive dog hair, the cleaners is charging me an additional charge above their usual cleaning fee, which I should have charged to the guests, but I chose to pay the additional cleaning fee myself. However, I didn't feel that I could give the guests a 5 star rating due to the excessive cleaning & their comments & 4 star rating may have been in retaliation.

Loved the seclusion

  • 4 of 5

Cabin is well maintained and Andy's driving directions and tips on the area were fantastic! There were 2 couples and the cabin was perfect for us, the area is absolutely breath taking. We will visit again!

Owner's Response: Nice guests & I appreciate their nice comments. The comments were all very good, so not sure why it wasn't a 5 star rating. I guess people have a different interpretation of the "Star Rating System," which is 1 reason I don't like it & wish readers wouldn't put so much emphasis on the rating & look instead at the comments.

Many better options in the area

  • 1 of 5

I have been coming to the area on vacation for the past 25 years and have stayed in many of different cabins. This was definitely my least favorite. The cabin is much smaller than it appears to be from the pictures. There is NO VIEW. The pictures of the view were taken after that huge tree was trimmed. Well now it is fully grown. I even asked Andy if there was a view and he assured me there was. I promise there is not. There was no furniture on the front porch which was odd. The hot tub leaked water everywhere which made me worry the deck was going to come crashing down from rotting. The coffee pot took an hour to brew a full pot of coffee. I'm not exaggerating. There were numerous dust webs in the master bedroom and besides all the furniture. There were holes in the master comforter. The game table in the living room is junk and should be thrown out. The driveway is a nightmare and needs to be paved. The road going up to the cabin is horrible and terrifying if it is raining. The downstairs bathroom had a blown light bulb so we took showers basically in the dark. I was bitten by what appeared to be a termite in bed one night. The grill is junk and extremely dangerous. One night we used it and when we opened the lid 3 feet of flames almost hit my boyfriend in the face. I literally could keep going on. And after all that I never even complained because I am just not that type of person and figured we will just make do and not let this ruin our vacation. Well to add insult to injury I check my bank account and discover this guy has cashed my security deposit check and never even told me. I asked him what was going on and he told me there was excessive dog hair on the floor. Are you kidding me? I swept before I left, washed towels, started washing sheets, and did the dishes. I did not know I had to scrub the place down before I left. That is unreasonable and I honestly feel ripped off. When you check out a cleaning company has to vacuum and mop correct?? So how do I get stuck paying an extra fee for dog hair?? (He sent me a small portion of the check back.) Do not have a pet friendly rental and expect no dog hair. Isn't that common sense? And by the way there was no vacuum in the cabin and the broom was a piece of junk. Do not rent this cabin. There are thousands of better places that actually have a view.

Owner's Response: This review is in retaliation for my negative review of her & my cleaner charging her for excessive cleaning. First let me say that I have been renting this cabin for 12 years & have rented it to hundreds of guests. During that time, I have withheld 1/2 of a deposit for a broken window which cost me 5 times that amount to replace & I withheld another deposit because a guest packed 10 -12 people in a cabin with a septic tank designed to accommodate 6 people. THOSE ARE THE ONLY DEPOSITS I HAVE WITHHELD IN OVER 12 YEARS UNTIL THIS ONE. This guest stayed for an entire week and had NO COMPLAINTS during the entire week. When she left, I withheld part of her deposit to reimburse cleaners for the excessive cleaning charges which they billed to me. I only withheld the amount the cleaners charged me and refunded the balance to the guest, but she wanted the full deposit, so SHE WROTE THIS REVIEW IN RETALIATION FOR NOT RECEIVING HER FULL SECURITY DEPOSIT. Accusations are FALSE, but I have a limited amount of space to respond. The guest had a dog & when they left, The cleaners spent an additional 3 1/2 hours cleaning the cabin more than usual due to the excessive dog hair. the cleaners had to dispose of sheets & towels due to excessive hair. There was about a double handful of dog hair which the cleaner had to clean up & some spots on the sheets. The rental agreement which the guest signed states that excessive cleaning charges would be withheld for the security/damage deposit which I did. I also wrote a negative review of the guest before she wrote her review. If you agree with this guest that the cleaners should not be reimbursed for additional time needed to clean due to excessive conditions caused by the guest, do not contact me about renting this cabin. If you agree with this guest that I should pay for additional cleaning created by the guests, please do not contact me about renting my cabin. If you sign the rental agreement, but decide later not to honor your part of the terms of the rental agreement, do not contact me about renting this cabin. FYI - This cabin does have a nice view. The main picture on the web page was taken from the hot tub on the back porch. In fact, the cabin has been used for numerous anniversaries, honeymoons, & at least 3 couples have been married in this cabin. It's unfortunate that some people will overlook hundreds of positive reviews & make decisions based on 1 negative review from a disgruntled guest.

Comfy Home Base

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is far enough out of town for peace and relaxation, but close enough to do all the fun things. The cabin was very comfortable. Loved the rocking chairs on the back porch. We travelled the whole area and had a great time. We then came back to the cabin to rest and relax. Perfect home base for all our day trips.

Peace of Mind

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I have stayed at Daydreamer many times over the past 8 years and every time it is as delightful as the first. It is always clean, always has that wonderful cabin smell, and always feels as comfortable as home. This time down the power went out due to an exceptional wind/rain storm and we had unseasonable rain the entire time but had a fantastic get away in spite of the weather just spending time in the cabin. Andy and Jane are always the most accommodating of hosts and this time was no exception. If you need any type of assistance, Andy is quick to respond. We just hope other guests appreciate Daydreamer as much as we do and respect and care for her like we do while staying there. Until next time!

Relax in a tranquil mountain setting located just minutes away from great family orientated entertainment and good food in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg in one direction and the spectacular mountain scenery of Wear Valley and Cades Cove in the other direction.

The cabin is on 2.5 acres of land and no other cabins in sight when foliage is on the trees. In the winter, there is 1 cabin that can barely be seen in the distance.

There are other cabins on the mountain, but not in the immediate vicinity. Since there isn't much traffic, you can walk down the main road. Taking a right from the cabin is a fairly easy walk. About 1/4 mile down the road is a small (5-10 acre) meadow with a small pond and a couple of cabins around it. Walking past the meadow, you can walk 1/2 mile - 1 mile along the road through the woods without seeing another cabin. A small stream crosses the road there & there a couple of cabins with permanent residents.

Turning left from the cabin and it's about 1/4 mile to the bottom of the mountain where there is a nice stream with several small waterfalls. I've included pictures of some of waterfalls.

Golf: Great golfing is available within a 15 minute drive in Pigeon Forge.

Ski: Snow skiing is available about 30 minutes away in Gatlinburg.

The national park is about 30 minutes away.
