wonderful week!

  • 5 of 5

My wife, 13 year old son, 80 year old mother, sister in law, niece and nephew in their 20's vacationed here in the middle of June. It was our 8th vacation on lake lure. Harold was wonderful as was the house. The views from the porch are stunning. We took the pontoon boat to Larkins one night for dinner and it was magical. We also kayayed to the flower bridge one morning. While there are a lot of steps, we generally only went up or down once/day and my 80 year old mother (who is in good shape) was able to handle it fine. The upstairs AC was acting up the first night we were there and Harold has someone by to fix it the next day. One of the best vacations ever!

Absolutely beautiful setting!

  • 5 of 5

We held a reunion with old friends (40+ years), from Hilton Head, SC, Pittsburgh, PA and Ferndale, MI,

at the Enchanted Cottage.... we had an awesome time, sharing memories and laughing the entire long weekend, despite 2 days of rain.

We enjoyed the pontoon boat, the kayaks and canoe. The views of lake and mountains were spectacular.

The kitchen is very well equipped and the beds were really comfortable. Although the steps could be challenging...........we figured they were the exercise, we needed to work off the delicious meals and adult beverages consumed by all, during the weekend.

The caretakers were friendly and accommodating. What a wonderful place, we hated to leave on Sunday. Thank you.........

We can't wait to return!!!!

  • 5 of 5

Our family had such an amazing time and haven't stopped talking about wanting to return next summer. This beautiful house was fully equipped with everything needed for a relaxing, yet adventurous week. The scenery was magnificent, you couldn't ask for a more breath taking view. This vacation easily became one of our favorites and a must repeat. The property owners were easy to deal with and the caretakers were also wonderful. We were impressed that when we received our deposit back that the owners sent a hand written note, that showed that they really value customers. Like I said we are trying to figure out a date to return next summer!!!

Fun friends and families getaway !

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing stay here. The view is amazing. Lake front and gorgeous mountain views. Even with a large group, sitting on the back porch in the morning, watching the sun come up was breath taking. Riding the boat to dinner was a fun experience for the families too! We spent our days on the sun deck and watched members of our group kayak and canoe. We also took a fun day trip to Chinmey Rock, very close by. What a fabulous trip- will definitely be back

AMAZING !!!!

  • 5 of 5

This charming house has it all! We were very happy with the location being right on the lake and close to whatever we needed (groceries, meals out, shopping, chimney rock), the ammenities, the VIEW (amazing), and the owner was awesome to work with! The trolley to take our items up and down the hill was great. We used the firepit for smores, the pontoon boat, and enjoyed every second of our trip. Plus, you can see the area where Dirty Dancing was filmed across the lake! Our family really enjoyed it and can't wait to come back!!! I would give it 10 stars if I could!
