About Andrew Dickson

An Island resident for nearly 20 years, and a member of the Tisbury Fire department for the same time span. I own and operate a general contracting and land development company focused on Sustainable living, custom home building and renovation. I thoroughly enjoy outdoor activities, including, but not limited to, mountain biking, boating, of all kinds- canoeing, kayaking,sailing, power boating, fishing, and landscaping my property. I continue to learn and grow in all these areas.

The property maintains a number of unique qualities. Close to town-Main street Vineyard Haven, Library, Owen Park on the harbor, lake Tashmoo ( as the crow flys about 800 yards away), tennis courts and boat ramp all of which give the very rural and tranquil setting of the property a local to many amenities and special features.

Having constructed the neighborhood in 05'-06' I was provided the opportunity to purchase the 'builders lot' and custom design the house and property to my own personal specifications. Incorporating a number of Custom design elements, exterior and interior, makes this property a special place for all to enjoy. Great open spaces, southerly exposures, decks and balconies, and an every growing array of planting throughout the property. The house is quiet, private, and close to so many local features.

  • Each Bedroom is newly furnished and includes all convenient amenities. Ceiling fans, high speed wireless or hard wire access, bamboo floors throughout, and ample closet and dresser space. The Master suit includes his and hers walk in closet, and custom bathroom. The bathroom is complete with soaking tub and tile with glass mosaic surround, a full size stand up shower with two high performance shower heads and separate controls, tile and glass mosaic as well. 5 ft. vanity and mirror with plenty of storage. All fixtures have contemporary styling and provide a spa like atmosphere. Two windows add lots of light, look out through the tree tops and allow the summer breeze to flow through. The master suite and bedroom three are connected by a 6 ft x 20 ft balcony deck, terrific for morning wake ups and afternoon sunset sky. More photos to follow.

Fantastic and quiet

My family enjoyed our time in this home. It is a comfortable space with many nice touches and details. The kitchen had ample supplies. The bedrooms were fantastic and it was nice to not worry about bringing linen.

The owner was attentive and available when we had questions while giving us privacy.

The only slight issue was the strength of the wireless connection. It was spotty at times due to the trees.

We had a great time staying here! The house is in a quiet neighborhood, but you can walk to downtown Vineyard Haven and the Ferry. It is clean, open and bright, with a great deck off of the LR/DR. Owner was living in studio apartment below. He is a longtime Vineyard resident, very professional, and was a great help with suggestions for excursions, shopping and food! We will definitely go back.

Great stay and very clean, attentive owner

The property was well maintained and the owner was very attentive. We had no problems upon arrival or checking out. The owner paid attention to the little details and helped us with local tips and attractions. We would stay here again. The property is located in a small neighborhood not to far from Vineyard Haven. The backyard is amazing and peaceful. We would stay here again definitely!

First of all I've stayed in this lovely home now for the last four years and plan to do so again in 2017. We love it! The property is exactly as it's described only better. If you've never been to MV - which by the way this will be our 18th in 20 years - VH is a prime locale. Everything thing you want to enjoy your stay is at your disposable and if by chance it is not then the property owner Andrew D. will ensure that you are accommodated. The property is clean and well maintained. Your very close to everything when you make this your hub! Come and see for yourself - just don't take my dates!! We love it and the owner too:)

Very enjoyable!

We really enjoyed our stay on the Vineyard! The house is great. It sits on a quiet cul de sac with ample parking. It is a pleasant, quiet 20 minute walk into Vineyard Haven (which is nice, not having to wrestle with parking down in the town).

The house is very clean, with a beautiful large deck off the living/dining space, perfect for barbecuing. The living/dining space itself is spacious and very comfortable. Lots of room to spread out. The kitchen is well-appointed and has everything needed for making your own meals.

The bedrooms upstairs are all a good size, with comfy beds.

There is also a nice walk down to the boat launch at Lake Tashmoo.

Supermarkets are within 10 minute drive; Oak Bluffs is close, too, to add variety to restaurant and bar options.

Highly recommended!

deposit never returned

The accomadations were wonderful! but what left a bad impression, the owner never returned our deposit. We called him many times, never returned our phone calls or our deposit.

Your Island vacation home is located on a quiet cul-de-sac with close proximity to many activities and sites. A short walk to tennis, boat ramp and Lake Tashmoo makes for easy access. The surrounding areas are wooded, and mountain biking will lead to the discovery of many hard to find fun areas. The West Chop Light House and its' surroundings make for an enjoyable ride. Vineyard Haven Harbor, Main Street, Owen Park (on the harbor) are conveniently located as well. Beaches abound! travel minutes or miles to your choice of beach experience. The variety of beaches on Martha's Vineyard lend themselves to an array of topography, hiking, walking or simply drive

Golf: The Vineyard supplies a variety of Golf courses. The closest golf course is Mink Meadows, and its locations is approximately 3 miles from the home.

The property is owner occupied in a private lower level studio with all separate entrances and amenities. Privacy and comfort are a priority for our Island home visitors. Please enjoy respectfully.

A 50% deposit along with a signed lease agreement is required to secure your reservation. The balance and security deposit are due 30 days prior to arrival.
Certified or bank checks recommended. personal checks accepted. Credit cards are not accepted.
