Walk on the footsteps of Amélie Poulain!
On the right bank of Paris, in the heights of the city, a bit away from the chaos and the crowd, the 18th arrondissement is a vast arrondissement, made of authenticity, full of charm, with, in some places, a real village-like feeling.
Between Saint-Ouen, its flea market and its buzzing agitation, and Montmartre, its Place du Tertre, its Sacré Coeur and its crows of tourists, not far from the mythical Pigalle and Abesses, two steps away from the Goutte d’Or, its exotic stalls, its colorful fabrics stallholders, and its neighborhood life, very closed to the charming streets of Caulaincourt, Lamarck, Custine, Lepic and many others, with all its food shops (cheese maker, butcher, bakery, etc) all more appetizing than the other, well known by the regulars, its mills and dancing and mucical cabarets, the Moulin Rouge being the most famous of them, the neighborhood is one of the most appealing of Paris! It’s full of treasures and secrets… It’s up to you to discover them!
After a good night in one of the four bedrooms of your new apartment, get ready for Soul Kitchen, where Isabelle, Sophie and Anaïs will welcome you with an invigorating and delicious breakfast full of sweets and delicate attentions. Here you are, ready to face the differences in heights and the numerous stairs of the 18th!
Walk along the beautiful cobbled streets and become filled with the very particular atmosphere of the neighborhood, before going for the masterpiece of the area: the Sacré Coeur! Sitting on the throne that is the Butte Montmartre, it’s the ideal point of view to get the best panorama on all Paris… But you have to deserve it! You’ll have to climb up or down hundreds of stairs before getting there. If you stomach starts to prick, direction Le Reflet du Miroir, for a ham-cheese-egg buckwheat pancake (a ‘galette’) or a generous hamburger, all made with fresh products. Children are the kings here, between menus specially made for them or cupcakes groups.
Here it is, the 18th is your new home!
The bus line 56 stops at the foot of the apartment (stop “Albert Kahn”). The bus line n°85 (stops “Albert Kahn” or “Porte de Clignancourt”) will take you closed to the apartment as well.
Otherwise, the metro line 4 (the fuschia one) serves the stations “Porte de Clignancourt” and “Simplon”, two or three hundreds meter away from the apartment.
