Kick off your shoes and prepare to retreat to your own personal sanctuary for a relaxing and memorable experience.
Dreamwold House is surrounded by trees on a large yard next to woods. This property allows for privacy, deer and bird watching, and best of all memory making.
The house is pure comfort. The living room has warm wooden floors, arched doorways, a comfortable sofa , wing back chairs and a leather lounger. A Regency gas fireplace warms the soul. There is a first-floor bedroom with wooden floor, a four-poster full-size mahogany bed, a writing table, reading chair, and a highboy.
On the second floor, there is a queen-size bed (with pillowtop mattress in bedroom two) that affords a lush wooded view, and two twins in bedroom three. Both bedrooms have plush carpeting. There are two modern baths both with a tub, shower, and a tubular skylight.
Beautiful large modern kitchen with vaulted ceiling is fully equipped for cooking and dining. A full basement has a washer/dryer for your laundry needs.
The12x26 screened and carpeted porch with beamed ceiling allows you to enjoy day or night porch dining in comfort. Read your favorite summer book or rock your cares away in rocking chairs to the sound of chirping birds or the night frogs croaking.
Walk just 10 minutes along winding wooded roads to experience our beaches and dunescapes on beautiful Lake Michigan. We have bikes, wagons, beach toys in the garage. Children love the wagon ride to the beach.
Dreamwold House is next door to Birchwood Cabin ( #373408) it's sister property located in the woods. Families rent both properties to accommodate extended family/friends.
Come on over for memory making year round!
Thank you so much for providing such a warm and cozy environment to enjoy a weekend of family and friends. Your cottage was perfect to celebrate a bridal shower and create many wonderful memories. We enjoyed the amazing fall weather, beautiful views, and trips to the beach and dunes. Thanks again for a weekend of laughter, love and family. Many blessings to you!
Friendly, responsive host. Reasonable rental cost. Nicely appointed cottage. I may have missed it in the write-up, but it's worth pointing out that this place was remodeled fairly recently. Everything was updated, and the back porch was extended and enclosed during the rehab, while still retaining the charm of the original.
Washington Park Zoo in Michigan City (10 miles) was a nice find. Also, the Fire and Water restaurant/bar/concession stand was a nice place to hang out while the kids were 150 yards away at the beach. Of course, the Michiana beach that's only a 10-minute walk from the cottage was special.
My daughters and I have been going on a Mother/Daughter Weekend over Columbus Day for the past 22 years. When the little ones came along, we started taking them too. This year, one grandson is away at college, several of the others have "school and sports" commitments, etc. so we thought we would not go this year. Changed our minds and found Dreamwold House! The three of us had such a wonderful time. Dreamwold House was perfect! Had everything we could have wanted and more. We took long walks along the beach, even walked out in the water (little nippy), went for a bike ride, went into New Buffalo one day and St. Joe's another. Did some shopping, had lunch on the rooftop decks, sitting in the sunshine and sipping wine. At night, we talked, crocheted, watched movies, read magazines, etc. We were so sad to leave. Could have stayed awhile longer. I am so glad we decided to go, it was a special time for all of us. Mariya is a gracious hostess and Finn is adorable!!!
This is a beautiful home that embraces you with every comfort. Mariya is an amazing hostess generally interested in making you feel at home. The grounds are stunning with beautiful landscaping that invite you to rest and enjoy time spent relaxing and resting. The beach is beautiful and the sunsets make you weep with the beauty painted across the skies horizon. The screened in back porch is a bonus! The home is very clean and lacks for nothing... just bring yourself, good friends and a high expectation of satisfaction! I would give this home 10 stars if I was able to! Thank you Mariya for sharing your home with us!
The house has everything to make for a relaxing time at the beach. If traveling with children it's a dream and you really don't have to bring anything for them. The house is fully stocked, incredibly clean, and 8-10 min walk to the beach or the park. Deer are all around to make for a pleasant surprise. We would definitely come again.
We've stayed here four times and will be back next year! A cozy house nestled in the woods - and only a 10-minute walk to the beach. Perfect for families. The owners, Ian and Mariya are wonderful, and there are plently of cute areas nearby to explore. (St. Joe's and New Buffalo, for example.) Lots of bikes in the garage and a huge yard to play in. We love it!
We have stayed at this property 2x now. It's great for families with plenty of room. Mariya has a red wagon and beach toys, and the house is a short walk to the beach. Very peaceful and quiet atmosphere. Mariya and Ian are wonderful hosts, and are always available for help or tips on the area when you need it. We hope to be back again next summer!
