About The Owner

This is a residential apartment we keep as a corporate rental for our company’s clients coming to town for work. (We are a talent management company and our clients come in to work on film/tv/theatre projects) It is in a residential building with residents in surrounding apartments. It is not a hotel. It is a self-catering, private apartment with no hotel services. Fortunately, it also won’t have someone else’s “stuff” in it as no one lives there. It is kept very clean, our clients wouldn’t have it any other way.

The Owner purchased this apartment in 2005

a spacious, clean and nicely decorated apartment located in the heart of soho/nolita

  • 5 of 5

I travelled with my husband and my two girls, aged 12 and 6. We absolutely enjoyed the apartment! It is tastefully decorated, clean and has all the amenities we need. It even has washer and dryer at the basement of the building! The best part of the apartment is the location. It is in the heart of soho/nolita, tons of great restaurants and shops literally right outside our building. It may get a bit noisy in the middle of the night though, but it is not a problem for us. The host Ken is great too. We never met him but he is quick to answer all my questions by email. We had a great time in NYC, and the apartment is an important part. We will definitely come back and recommend to my friends!

the PERFECT apt in the BEST location in NYC

  • 5 of 5

We couldn't have been happier with our Soho apt. When we travel we like to feel like a local, not a tourist, and this apt fit the bill. Soho is such a great location with shopping and eateries all around. Having the subway station literally next door couldn't have been more convenient. The key system was easy to use, and the apt was spotless and had all amenities we needed. Even coffee! It was totally modern and spacious. Wifi was perfect. Towels and sheets were great quality. Kitchen was well stocked with all we needed including wine glasses and an opener. Our next trip I hope this apt is available b/c we will for sure be back!! Thanks for everything!!

Great location and value

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay. Suite was nicely outfitted and stocked with essentials. Ken was kind enough to give us a late checkout so we were able to take a cab straight to the airport from the suite. Very helpful instructions and recommendations for restaurants, etc. Would highly recommend staying here. Rick and Patti

Really a 4.5. A great rental property with just a few minor issues

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our recent stay at the property. My wife, 16 yr old son, and i stayed there for a week in March. Ken was very helpful through the booking process and with onboarding us in the rental. We'd highly recommend this unit but there are a few things that people should keep in mind. I've listed what i feel to be the key positives/issues below:

Positives:

1) GREAT location. It's right on the border of SOHO and NOLITA and is right in the middle of a vibrant fun area full of bars, restaurants and shops. It is also convenient for the subway (4,5,6 is right downstairs, N,R is two blocks away). It's easy to walk downtown to the Freedom Tower, northwest to Washington Square or just about anywhere downtown.

2) Really nice apartment. It's a good size, very nice, and well appointed. The building has only two apartments per floor so it's not congested. There is a laundry room conveniently located in the basement of the building. All in all, the apartment and building were great.

3) Ken was really great throughout the process. He made excellent recommendations and made the process easy.

Issues

1) Related to number 1 above, while amidst all the action, it can get VERY noisy on Spring St. People are out an about until 3 or so in the morning. Plus you have the standard NYC noises (garbage trucks, honking cars/taxis, etc.). Therefore, if you are a light sleeper, this might be an issue for you. It is to be expected when you are in the middle of the action but nonetheless it was frustrating a few of the nights when the noise was in full gear!! Thoughtful of Ken to put a white noise machine in the MBR but it wasn't much help.

2) The beds were okay, but not great. The queen in the MBR was very firm. It was fine for me, but my wife was uncomfortable on it. The sofa bed in the living room was quite soft, which made it impractical for me. I know i'm sounding like Goldilocks here, but for those of you who are pretty picky about bed comfort, you might have an issue here.

3) The concierge that is used for key pickup/dropoff is very nice but fairly far. It is about a half mile away, which isn't a problem when you're walking alone, but when you're dragging three suitcases, it can be a challenge.

All in all, this is a GREAT place and we would highly recommend it.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments, you were great guests. I'll add a couple things to the problem points for future guests. Yes, the key concierge service is 7 blocks away and will take about 10 minutes to walk it, but we do highly recommend guests have their taxi wait for them while they get the keys, which is a very quick process, and then take them to the apartment, who wants to walk blocks with any amount of baggage, not me! The noise: it is pretty typical of any place in the city that is not primarily residential like the Upper East Side. Its a trade off we make to be in the area. We're on the 5th floor so you actually get away from it more than if you were lower. But there can be some loud nights during the year, especially when the weather starts to turn warm and NY'ers are celebrating the end of winter! Us locals live in it so we get used to it, but if you're coming from a quiet residential area, well, I envy you :)

Fabulous apartment

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely enjoyed our stay in this apartment. It is spotless and spacious--the photos don't do the living area justice. It is steps away from everything! Spring Street can be noisy, but that is the nature of the neighbourhood, and we considered it part of the ambience of the stay. Restaurants, cafes, shopping and transport are all right outside the front door. Ken was professional in all his dealings with us. We are planning to return!

Great apartment and location

  • 5 of 5

My wife, 4Y son and I stayed here for four nights and it was an excellent spot in a great Manhattan location. Apartment was very clean, bed was comfortable and it was very easy dealing with Ken. Close to pretty much everything if you prefer downtown NYC (including subway), and despite being on Spring St noise wasn't a big problem. Would definitely stay there again, the size of the apartment and furnishings made it a very good deal, especially vs a hotel.
