Frank and I have enjoyed traveling, but we also love to stay in Oregon and enjoy the home in the mountains.
Kayla purchased this house in 2004
We love the Cascades. The skiing is fantastic, and you have access to both Willamette and Bachelor ski resorts. The highways are maintained and cleared for safe travel, and in the summer the lakes are gorgeous. Crater lake is only an hour away, and there are about 10 lakes within a 10 mile radius. It is the perfect get away in summer or winter! We've enjoyed it so much.
It is secluded but there is a restaurant 2 miles away. We have a fairly well equipped gym/work out area in the cabin. Quality basketball hoop with the "paint" painted on the driveway. We can snow ski in 10 minutes and come home to the hot tub. The fly fishing is outrageous. The Pacific Crest Trail is 10 minutes away. Clean fresh ponderosa pine air. Plenty of amenities.
This newly built home is quality throughout. The area is breathtaking. I esspecially liked going to the beach on the lake. We hiked the Pacific Crest Trail and were surrounded by enormous old growth trees. Since the property boarders the National Forest, there are countless activities to do for the outdoor enthusiast.
Thank you for sharing this property with our family. We will definitly see you next year.
We can to the state to see our son and stayed at 'The Mountain Home'. It was fabulous. Thank you kayla nad Frank for sharing your beautiful home.
We love coming back to this home every year. Clean, quiet, great vacation. And the snow this year was awesome!
We had a wonderful and lovely time at the cabin. It was spacious with plenty of room for everyone. We loved the huge kitchen. It was a winter wonderland, so access to the cabin was difficult. The cleaning service could do a better job and some things were broken or missing.
Beautiful place really enjoyed our time. Kids enjoyed sledding. The cleaning service could be a lot better. Would definitely return.
This property was beyond our expectations. It was like "new" and really spacious. We enjoyed cooking in the huge kitchen – which incidentally was well-equipped and stocked. Having coffee and breakfast on the huge deck was very pleasant. The hot tub was nice and hot, and well-maintained. We slept well because the beds were really comfortable, and it was very quiet. The stars at night were unbelievable!
Our party of 9 (ages 3 to 70) had a wonderful stay at this spacious and well-equipped home. There was plenty to do nearby--picnicking and swimming at Simax Beach, kayaking in Crescent Lake, or hiking. The home also had lots of games, a foosball table, and video library to choose from. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again!
Tons of Mountain Lakes. Some of the best fly fishing or lake fishing in the Pacific Northwest. Crescent Lake has a mile long beach on it that is white sand, places to have open fire cooking, boat and snowmobile rentals. Very few people. It is heaven on earth.
Other Activities: Hike the Pacific Crest Trail, Creater Lake National Park, Boating, kiack
Ski: Exactly 10 miles away is some of Oregons' premier family snow skiing. They sell lift tickets by the hour so ski for 2-3 hours, come back have lunch and then go back or relax in the hot tub.
