The Maui Ocean Center/Aquarium, snorkel tours, fishing trips, restaurants, gift shops, and shuttle service are in walking distance as well.
Fifty feet of windows and an open floor plan provide amazing panoramic ocean views - even from your bed and shower. This is a spacious, one bedroom, two bath, newly remodeled Condominium that can sleep up to four. The penthouse suite has a pull-out dividing wall for privacy if you travel with four guests. This fourth floor unit offers great whale watching when in season and a full view of majestic Haleakala Mountain. The granite and marble throughout adds a luxurious touch. It would be the ideal place to enjoy your honeymoon, anniversary, any other special occasion or simply a well deserved vacation.
We were given ten days at this WONDERFUL penthouse. It was so much more than we could have hoped for. It contained everything that we might need. The kitchen was fully equipped and the furniture was so beautiful especially the dining room table.
The view was wonderful. I was told by a friend how wonderful it was but It is beyond belief. The view from the balcony at sunrise and sunset is breath taking. I hope to visit there again many times in the future.
Andreas suggested many wonderful activities to us. We had always heard that Maui was heaven and now we know that the penthouse is where it is.
Livin at the beach in South Carolina, I thought we had the best but after our vacation I would recommend the penthouse and the beaches at Maui.
My wife and I decided on Maui for our 25th Wedding Anniversary / Second Honeymoon and chose this condo for the spectacular views and beautiful features. The communication with our Host, Andreas, was above and beyond! I refer to him as our host because it felt more like staying with a friend than a business relationship. He made every effort to insure our stay and the condo were the best possible. The little details made a spectacular property shine even brighter. From the upgraded Kitchen, Black Granite Counters, Marble Tile Showers, Beautiful and thoughtfully place furnishings, Awesome Bose Sound System, Beach Chairs it was built and stocked with all of the proper items. I can't leave out the floor to ceiling windows across the entire Penthouse which supply an unobstructed view of the bay to the south and the shoreline from Sugar Beach to Makena with Haleakala in the background. We enjoyed drinking coffee and watching the sunrise over the entire vista. We even saw whales breaching right out in the bay! There were Sea Turtles right below our Lanai every day. One morning I counted seventeen!
In addition to being perfect it was clean and well stocked with towels and a complete kitchen which also has a full spice rack. The "Little Touches" Andreas and Stephanie provided took the condo from awesome to spectacular. We just can't say enough about it and will definitely be back!
The condo is Located in a very central spot and is not a crowded area. We walked about a block to the restaurants, shops, store and more. There were a number of choices but we really liked going to Beach Bum's. They have excellent crab cakes and the service was superb. We also booked a sunset cruise on "The Pride of Maui" which boarded just 150 feet from the condo building. It doesn't get much more convenient than that. No fighting traffic after dark and not a thought about keeping a lid on the fun! The private underground parking was close to the elevator which is only a few steps to the front door of the condo.
We were there as a couple and it provided every amenity we could have asked for. There is a privacy divider between the Master Bed and the rest of the unit which could provide privacy if two couples decided to share. With two full bathrooms and plenty of space it would be comfortable for four people.
All in all I would highly recommend this unit and especially Andreas and Stephanie as hosts. You will not be disappointed!
My husband and I chose this condo due to its stunning panoramic views, upgraded features, great central location, and the professional and responsive communication we had with owners Andreas and Stephanie. This property is equipped with everything you could need for your vacation including beach towels and chairs, parasols, coolers, even a travel hair dryer (including one in each bathroom). This home is beautifully decorated with high-end furniture and local artwork. The linens were plush and the kitchen is fully equipped with loads of china, stemware, cooking utensils, pots and pans and serving platters. The owners provide cold water in the fridge for your arrival and a generous supply of coffee for your first morning. No detail was left out, everything is attended to and for all of these reasons we would highly recommend this property. We will definitely be back. Mahalo Andreas and Stephanie!
Above all, I was attracted by the spectacular views of the “Oceanfront Penthouse” and next by the luxuriousness of the interior decoration - I love discovering owners who strive to impart character, charm and comfort, in addition to practicality and convenience, into their vacation rentals. Andreas Romer is such a one.
First of all, the location was convenient to shopping, tour boat departures and the fascinating Maui Ocean Center. The tour book “Maui Reveled” even recommends Maalaea as a great location for those wanting to explore the island in depth.
As for the penthouse itself, it was impeccably clean and tastefully appointed and we felt we were in the lap of luxury. The living room sofas were very comfortable with plenty of pillows for relaxing after the day’s activities and the large flat screen TV and Internet service were very satisfactory. The king sized bed was great and it was truly wonderful to fall asleep and awaken to the sound of the ocean waves lapping the shoreline and to the feel of tropical breezes bringing with them the purest air in the world.
The kitchen has plenty of pots, pans, utensils, dishes, silverware, etc. all of excellent quality and just about everything else you might need for dining in, including cloth place mats and napkins. If you do find anything missing, Andreas will get it for you. We mentioned that an apron for cooking would be nice, and the next day there was one for each of us! There were also a few basics like salt, olive oil, butter and spices as well as some refreshments in the refrigerator – rare finds in a vacation rental!
We also kept the two beach chairs and the beach towels provided in the trunk of our rent-a-car during our stay so we were always ready for a stop at any beach we chose to explore – the swimming was wonderful! We also hiked to fantastic waterfalls along the Road to Hana and visited the Haleakala Volcano. (The in-house washer/dryer kept the towels and hiking clothes ready for daily service!).
We usually had breakfast and dinner out on the lanai and in the evenings we delighted in the colors of the sunset and later we’d watch the moon rise over the water. There is also a beautiful dinning room table with seating for six inside if you have company.
We have stayed at many nice places but none were cared for with Andreas’ attention to detail and no owner has shown more commitment to making sure we had everything we needed and that we were enjoying our stay. We'll definitely be back!
This gorgeous penthouse is a five-star luxury property in all respects. We spent eleven January nights in this beautifully appointed fourth-floor one-bedroom condo situated squarely on the oceanfront, revelling in eye-popping 180-degree-plus views of Ma’alaea Bay, Molokini Islet, the Kihei shoreline, and the majestic backdrop of 10,000 foot Mount Haleakala. Frisky humpback whales were a near-continuous presence, and a contingent of local green turtles regularly paddled in with the late afternoon high tide. While dining on fresh seafood on the spacious lanai, we were treated to nightly moonrises over Haleakala while being warmed by ocean breezes and serenaded by the soothing (and sleep-inducing) rhythm of breaking surf. Andreas was a gracious and knowledgeable host who showed genuine interest in our comfort. We wanted for absolutely nothing during our visit. The Ma’alaea village – showcasing a couple of first-rate restaurants plus a marina -- is situated no more than a five-minute stroll from the building, with the local beach park similarly close at hand in the opposite direction. The shopping malls of Kahului (Whole Foods is best for groceries), the residential and resort districts of Kihei and Wailea-Makena, the Ka’apalani coast and the Haleakala summit are all readily accessible from Ma’alaea by car – and a visit to the truly paradisiacal Hana can be managed in a day-trip (although we would advise an overnight stay, as the return Hana Highway drive can be a trifle stressful if ventured in a single day). Altogether this penthouse ranked among the best and most memorable vacation rentals we have experienced over many years of travel. Thank you for your generous hospitality, Andreas. The view is jaw-dropping, and you really can watch whales spouting from just about any spot in this luxurious condo. The amenities are perfect, the kitchen is well appointed, and the decor is unique and personalized. We would definitely return, whenever we come to Maui. We loved the restaurants within walking distance, and the snorkel trips from the harbor... so several days we didn't even get in our car. But when we did, we drove to Hana and around that remote part of Maui, which is a stunning contrast.
