I've had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful home twice. My husband and I stayed with our best friends last year, and I just returned from a stay with life-long lady friends. This home is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We most enjoyed the screened porch that is just a few yards from the golf course. Very relaxing and it has everything you need. The market and small shops are about 10 minutes away.
It's just a short 45 minute ride from Charleston and all there is to see there including the City Market and many great restaurants. We ate, took a fun carriage ride, ate, shopped, ate, and enjoyed catching up on a lifetime of memories! Wonderful stay.
My husband and I stayed in this home with my parents, and we had a wonderful stay. Aside from some spiderwebs in the high parts of the ceiling (unreachable without some sort of extension rod or ladder), the house was very clean and welcoming. Also we very much enjoyed the screened in porch for relaxing and reading, although we had to dust a thick(!) layer of pollen off the furniture due to the time of year we were there (late March--everything was in bloom). The location was wonderful in a nice wooded part of the island next to the golf course, and we could peek across the fairway to the small pond to say hello to the resident gator each morning. It was a very short drive to the restaurants at the marina or down to the end of the island to the beach club and golf course. We really enjoyed eating at Red's--nothing fancy but some great eats, we were big fans of their grilled shrimp salads--we ate there five or six times the week we visited! Also recommend swinging out to Fairfields Village just up the road on Kiawah where there are some nice shops--the creamery is delicious as well as King Street Grille (they have delicious pretzel buns on their burgers and great waffle fries). There was some rain and it was still a little chilly (60s-low 70s) most of the week we were there (last week of March) and the water was too cold for us to want to swim, but we still enjoyed golfing and exploring the area, and it was not far to visit Charleston as well. This was our first visit to Seabrook Island and we really enjoyed it!!!
This was a great home for our family (6 adults). Clean, spacious, everything we needed. Room to spread out, but nice gathering places. Plenty of towels. Gas grill. Good parking. Very responsive home owner. Easy to follow arrival and departure instructions. Great location on main street, but set back with plenty of trees and shade. Lots of deer to watch. Easy ride to the beach...we had rented both bikes and a golf cart. Easy drive to Charleston. Would certainly recommend this home. Thank you for place to make sweet family memories!
My husband and I stayed only 4 days but the house and the island were so wonderful that we hope to come back soon! The photos just don't do it justice. We took morning walks around the golf course and the beach was just down the street. The house had everything we could need and the property manager was available and very nice. My favorite thing about the house was the jacuzzi. It took a few tries to figure out how to turn the jets on (probably since we do not own a jacuzzi ourselves) but it was a truly wonderful way to relax after a long day on the beach. Everything was very clean and the beds were very comfortable! We had such a relaxing and fun long weekend and cannot wait to come back again.
Our family of four, including 2 adults and 2 young children, ages 7 and 3, along with my in-laws, rented this property during the third week of August. The home was exactly as depicted in the rental description. We found it to be very clean, fairly up to date, and only needing some minor touch ups here and there. There was plenty of space for our family to spread out, yet perfect for enjoying a meal together or watching TV. Both the home owners and the rental agent were extremely responsive by both e-mail and phone. Seabrook was the perfect vacation spot. My husband and I enjoyed running each morning, and our family thoroughly enjoyed the beaches and the pools. We have vacationed on Kiawah several times, but we enjoyed Seabrook more. We found everyone we ran into on the Island to be very friendly and it was not overcrowded. We did not mind the drive into Charleston and went there 3-4 times during the week. We did not mind the drive to the beach/pool (about 1.5 miles). It is not walkable for families with young children, but you could easily ride bikes. The boys enjoyed fishing on the island and when we took them to the beach after dark to chase crabs.
Regarding the house...We cooked several meals. We have rented homes before and have found they have typically been equipped with spices and foil and other small items you typically don't want to purchase for a week's stay. There are plenty of dishes and pots and pans, but if you plan to eat in, you will need to bring your own seasonings, coffee filters, dish soap,...etc. Not a problem, just a heads up. The coffee maker could stand to be replaced, but I am a coffee snob. We could not figure out how to use the jets in the Master bath, it appeared to be broken, but we did not call to ask. There were several harmless spiders and bugs at all times in the house. It is just the nature of the climate and location. If you are squeamish about bugs, be forewarned, but we really didn't feel that there was anything else to be done but to just kill them or scoot them outside.
We would recommend this rental and hope to return again in the future.
What a perfect home on Seabrook Island! Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home with us. The home was furnished with everything we needed for a wonderful week at the beach. Thank you again. We will definitely be back.
