Worked perfectly for our fishing party.

The property is secluded and the privacy was very much appreciated. No issues what so ever.

What a memorable vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week in the beginning of August 2013 and I cannot say enough about the lodge. First, Dave and Diana are amazing hosts and you don't have to worry about a thing. They took such good care of all of us. Everything was BETTER than described! There were antelope grazing and running through the property and ever so beautiful to watch. The Madison River runs right through the property as well. We ran out of time to fish, but it's one of the best fly fishing rivers in the United States, if not the best. The rooms were comfy and we had a nice fire a few nights in the great room. Yellowstone is not far away and so worth the time to enjoy. We also did some zip lining and whitewater rafting not too far away. But the best part, IMO, is the peace and quiet, the start lit nights, and being literally surrounded by the mountains.

I cannot give this any higher marks. We cannot wait to go back again!!!!!!!!!

Cabins and view are amazing, we saw eagles, mule deer, mountain goats, antelope and even a fox. The only real issue is the owners stay at the property with you. Almost like having a baby sitter. Owner even walked in our room unannounced while my husband was still in bed.

Owner's Response: Permission was received from the wife to access the 2nd floor to reset the internet connection. On walking up the stairs the children were playing with the bear rug...moving the teeth back and forth -loosening then up. After re-setting the internet I took the bear rug to the locked closet for safe keeping. At no time did the wife tell me there were others upstairs and that I would walk in on her husband who was just sitting on the bed. I excused myself, locked the bear rug up and left. When one rents the facility, depending upon how much they rent, we may stay in one of the rental units. This is our home. We enjoy making it available to others. This is a sacred place for us and we want to share it with others who have a respect for people's property and belongings. We keep the facility well furnished, supplied and well taken cared of so that our guests can enjoy their time there without concerns. When we do stay on the property each family is given only the attention they request. We leave you alone to enjoy your time, space, and freedom. Most of our guest recognize that this is our personal home and property and treat it as such. We have many things to do so there is little time for us to hover over our guests watching what they are doing and when they do it. Please read the other comments and you will see that the vast majority of our guests enjoy our place and are pleased with their decision to rent it. They are pleased with what is provided to them and develop a close relationship with us that changes from guests to families. We are sorry that this family found our remaining on our property...out of their way...and intrusion into their vacation time. If I remember correctly we were on the property only one day of their stay. In our offer of providing our home to guests, as in other businesses, we can not please everyone every time. I wish we could but reality tells me different. We invite you to explore our web site and decide for yourself whether our facility meets your needs, desires, expectations....we create memories that last a life time....for the 99.9%...these memories are favorable, enriching, and enduring.

The cabin and view were amazing. We had a wonderful time, we saw mule deer, bald eagles, mountain goats and antelope. The only down part was that the owners stay in the property with you. Almost like having a baby sitter. Owner even walked in our room unannounced while my husband was still in bed.

Beyond our expectations

  • 5 of 5

This was perfect! Everything that we had expected and more. The property was more secluded than we expected (get a 4 wheel drive) but that just added to the charm. We saw antelope and mountain goat while were there. While we didn't have much luck fishing, the access to the Madison was easy and there were many options to try other fishing holes nearby. Gods country for sure! Thank you for providing a perfect location for our family to enjoy the area and Yellowstone.

About Diana and David Magistrelli

Diana is a retired cardiac nurse and has always enjoyed being around people.

David is a consultant and is now Executive Director for Habitat for Humanity of Gallatine Valley.

Both of us have always enjoyed the outdoors and have traveled west for many of our vacations. We decided, once we retired, that here in Montana is where we will make our home and run a Guest Lodge. Best decision we have made.

Diana and David Magistrelli purchased this lodge in 2002

Why Diana and David Magistrelli chose Cameron

The property encompasses all of our dreams of owning a log home on 20 or more acres, with the Madison River in front of our home and close to Yellowstone National Park.

Ideal for fishermen, tourists, and family reunions.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your gorgeous cabin. We had everything we could possibly need (it definitely made us want to stay longer, in fact, all of us didn't want to go home). Not to mention the stunning view and all the wildlife we go to see in the early morning. Thank you again for your wonderful hospitality and we can only hope to find the time to visit again and there is absolutely nothing we'd wish to change about this trip.

Montana Spirit Guest Lodge is located on the edge of the Lee Metcalf Wilderness area just down from Quake Lake on the world famous Madison River. Step out the front door with a quick walk down to the Madison to catch the early evening hatch. We are just 26 miles from West Yellowstone, the western gate to Yellowstone National Park and 40 miles south of Ennis. Henry Lake is a few miles down the road and Henry Fork is ten miles further.

Hiking, fishing, horseback riding at nearby ranches, sightseeing, exploring Yellowstone National Park and visiting the rustic town of Virginia City are a few of the many activities one can do. Cliff and Wade Lake are a short drive as is Quake Lake for those big brown trout lying in the cool deep water for those who might prefer boating as to wading the Madison.

Day trips into Yellowstone National Park for sightseeing or fishing is only a quick ride away over the Continental Divide. Day hikes into Alpine lakes can offer spectacular trout fishing for cutthroats, or golden trout with the chance to see Moose, Wolf, bear, or elk along the way.
