This is a gem.

Breathtaking lake property that overwhelmingly delighted everyone in the family- young, in between, and more senior. There was so much to do and such beautiful scenery on site that no one wanted to leave the house for sightseeing (lake at your feet, own kayaks and pontoon, comfortable lounging, large yard space for play plus all the amenities inside that one might want as well). Extremely generous and helpful property owners. This is a gem.

Gorgeous, spacious lakefront home, amazing amenities, gracious hosts ~ a 10+/10!

Outstanding! Bob and Barb could have not been more kind and hospitable! We stayed here for our family's long wedding weekend, and it was truly paradise! From the time we booked, they began giving us information about their home and the surrounding areas of Highlands. Their home had everything we could have ever needed, from a gas grill, to a fully stocked kitchen, Aerobed, ample linens, big screen tvs, games, etc. It was spacious and accommodating, light and bright and beautifully decorated. And wait until you see the upstairs master bedroom! It is almost half the size of the entire footprint of the house, with a balcony, vanity, sitting area, and walk in closet!

With two wraparound lakefront decks, and main floor access to the lake, we fished from the banks, and caught lots of trout out on the houseboat and from the kayaks. The lake was quiet and smooth as glass. It was so private and we never saw anyone else the whole weekend on the lake. We played tennis one afternoon at the nearby courts, hiked beautiful waterfall trails, enjoyed all the wedding festivities at nearby Cullesaja Country Club, and enjoyed the shopping and restaurants of downtown Highlands. Everything was so accessible and within a 15 minute drive. And the weather, after Irma left, was picture perfect, sunny skies and mild, with the leaves just beginning to turn for the fall. It could not have been better and we can't wait to come back again. We can't imagine a more perfect vacation home! Thank you, Bob and Barb ~ you have been wonderful! We consider you friends and we look forward to meeting you in person the next time we rent. Sher and Jeff and Family

A magical place

  • 5 of 5

Our family was comprised of 8 adults and 1 very cute 13 month old grandchild! The house is located within a small community with neighboring houses nestled on the lake. A very serene and peaceful location. Grandpa took many walks around the neighborhood with the baby to visit the horse stables with a handful of carrots. Drove to a few waterfall hikes; spent some time in the town of Highlands for shopping. We brought meals with us just because we thought the expected crowds in town for the Eclipse would be overwhelming. As it turned out, we just didn't want to leave such a beautiful place. Sadly, the sky was full of dark clouds on Eclipse day and we missed it. Cleared up afterword, naturally! The weather was a special treat as it was 58 degrees most mornings warming up to the 70's by afternoon. Spectacular!

Beautiful setting

  • 5 of 5

We have vacationed in Highlands for 10-12 years and were not aware of this secluded community; even though we had driven by the entrance many times. This home has the best view in Highlands! Located on a secluded lake with mountain views and the best sunsets ever. Bob is the best homeowner to work with. He made sure we were settled in and called to say that we could check in a day early as the home was vacant. We know this does not happen often! We had four couples, family, celebrating our B-I-L/brothers 60th birthday. We couldt have chosen a better location. The Birthday boy is an avid fisherman and caught/released over a dozen fish. Thank you so much Bob & Barb. We will return!

Sunday School Class-4 couples

This property is even more beautiful than the pictures, and I did not think that would be possible! How often do you find a rental with 4 king beds? We ate all of our meals there because there is not a prettier backdrop in any restaurant. We picked the peak color week in October and the view from the house and decks was spectacular. Very open and inviting. Just far enough and just close enough to town to be the perfect location.

We were planning our return visit 5 minutes after we arrived at the property. Bob(the owner) is very easy to work with and he has thought of everything ahead of time.

This is absolutely Heaven on Earth!

We stayed for 2 weeks ; 1 with children and grandchildren and 1 on our own as a couple with a small dog. The location and views were outstanding . The owner Bob went out of his way to make us welcome . The hammock , tire swing and kayaks were very popular as was the pontoon boat !
