Spectacular and VERY restful.

  • 5 of 5

What a beautiful peaceful place to visit. The cottage is as well appointed as many homes. All you need to bring is your toothbrush, some clothes and a need to relax. Acadia National park is a short drive away and there are many local attractions including a star gazing in Acadia and a wonderful amateur theater night in town.

Such a perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

We can't express how fortunate we were in finding this charming cottage!! We are hesitant to let everyone know how perfect this cottage and location were as we want to keep it a secret to prevent it from being overbooked when we want to return! :) But, we have to be honest; it was absolutely perfect. The sound of the waves on the rocks just below, the large deck for lounging, the rustic feel of the accommodations and the convenience of being so close to 'civilization' when we needed it. The cottage was well stocked as far as the kitchen went and we cooked many meals at our temporary home which was fabulous. The hummingbirds were a joy to watch at the feeder and we saw an eagle chasing an osprey trying to snag its fish away. A few juvenile loons came by as well. We were able to hike in Acadia and even dragged ourselves out of bed at O-Dark-Thirty to catch the sunrise on Cadillac Mountain. We could go on and on about everything there is to do in the area!! And, on top of all of this, we were impressed by how organized the hosts were! There was excellent communication prior to our stay, a nice welcome sign and instruction manual for the cottage and great follow up afterward! We were so happy there that we were already sad to leave on our first day even though we still had the whole week ahead of us!!

Heaven on Earth

If your looking for a place that you won't want to leave this is it. From the time you arrive you will be saying to yourself what a beautiful view. Out on the deck you are less than 10 feet away from the water at high tide. From each room in the cottage is views, views and more views. Quiet, comfortable, relaxing in and out pleasing to the eye. Our 4th visit and not our last. Tranquility and peace restored. One of a kind for sure. It's what Maine is all about!

The Bomb!

It is our second time there and what a pleasure. The place is the quintessential coastal Maine cabin. Conveniently located and private, peaceful and just a real pleasure. I hope to come back for years to come.

Cozy, secluded cottage with great views!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at Lamoine Cottage for our honeymoon. It was exactly what we needed! Peace and quite with the ability to quickly make a trip to town or Acadia. The cottage was clean and fully stocked with cooking equipment, blankets, movies and firewood. The deck overlooking the ocean allowed a great spot for reading and eating. We even saw some sea lions in the evening! We are definitely interested in coming back someday!

Highly recommended!

Beautiful place.

This little place is a gem! We've returned to the Acadia area for our sixth time. This cottage is one of the best places we've stayed. We were lucky enough to witness alot of wildlife including: osprey, hummingbirds galore, seals (if you kayak up the river), and porpoises! The cottage is fully stocked and comfortable. If you're looking to get out and explore, this is the place. It is centrally located, close to many stores and also 30 minutes from Acadia National Park. If you're looking to relax, this is definitely a wonderful place. The atmosphere is serene, peaceful and relaxing. We highly recommend this lovely place. The owners are well-prepared and organized. The cottage has everything you need and a little extra...

Lamoine is a small coastal community located at the head of Frenchman's Bay in Hancock County, Maine. Lamoine was settled in the 1760's and was a major ship building community prior to the civil war. Near Ellsworth and Bar Harbor, it offers plentiful shopping and dining options nearby. Only 30 minutes from Acadia National Park for phenomenal hiking and sight seeing. Minutes from two public golf courses. Deep sea fishing, whale watching, and sailing tours are available in nearby Bar Harbor. Lamoine State Park is close by, in an ocean side setting with picnicking, dock, and boat access. Marlboro Beach, a coarse sand beach, is in walking distance from the cottage.
