Cottage, 2 Bedrooms + Baths, (Sleeps 2-7)
Why Property Manager chose East End
This quaint cottage is located literally steps away from a powdery sand beach and ocean that is good for swimming or snorkelling. Guests have scuba dived here too, but it's quite a long swim out to the reef.
What makes this Cottage unique
It's a very economical alternative if you have a lot of children or 2 families travelling together with kids. The 2nd floor is one huge bedroom with a total of 5 beds. Perfect for 2 or 3 adults and kids, too small for more than 3 or 4 adults. If there are more in your family, then you can also rent one of our other properties at hte SAME location: * Cayman Beach House (3 or 4 bedrooms) * Cayman Snuggle Beach Apt. (1 or 2 bedrooms) * Blue Sea Hideaway Studio (1 or 2 bedrooms)
Check-in: 4:00 PM
Check-out: 11:00 AM
Minimum age of primary renter:24
ALL BOOKINGS made through VRBO also require our own reservation form to be filled out which goes to the Cayman Gov't with the tax. This is mandatory.
It's also for our property mgr so she knows who is coming and when to get the unit ready and leave the key, as well as arranging cleaners when U leave
This form will also generate your confirmation and give you a lot of helpful information: Driving directions, maps, where to eat, what to do, etc.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date. 50% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
We appreciated the effort to make our stay enjoyable. The island has many offerings but also many quiet places to reflect on our lives. We shall return one day. Thank you
Beautiful place to stay, warm and friendly.
Our whole trip went very well. The property is beautiful and everything is as stated. The directions where great, maybe a little hard to find in the dark. But the statement about if you get to the resort you passed it and go back 5 houses are perfect. The property manager, Lorraine, was so nice. Had to contact her when we arrived and she showed up in 7 minutes and took care of us. I only wish I got to say good bye to her. This is a great pace to stay. The views are awesome and it's away from all the hustle of the tourist areas.
Waking up in the morning and looking out over the water at the beautiful sunrise is so worth it. We used the provided kayaks and had a great time.
We will be back and will stay here again. Once again , Thank you for a great visit to your beautiful island.

East end -privacy and comfort
Booking was easy, communication with property was easy. Everything we needed was provided, even kayaks and snorkeling gear.
William, we are so happy that you and your family had a good time and had fun on the Kayaks. We hope next time, you are able to stay a whole week -- there is so much to see and do on the island.
Cozy Beach Cottage
This property was perfect for my family of 3. The location was on the East side of the island, away from the cruise ships and hustle and bustle of tourists. It was quiet and very comfortable. A car was necessary and the best way to explore the island. Mother nature threw us a bit of a curveball with the sargassum (seaweed), but we were able to swim at the private beach with no problem. Water shoes are recommended. Our best meals were at Tukka, Big Tree BBQ and Over The Edge. When we return, we will definitely stay at this property. It was great. Exactly as described and excellent communication with the property management.
Thank you for this wonderful review, Gina! Although the cottage can hold 7, it is ideal for smaller families too. Yes, when the cruise ships are in port, which is practically every day, it is ridiculously crowded downtown. There can be up to 7 cruise ships in port at the same time and the stores tend to serve those guests first as they know they are on a limited time schedule and more likely to spend $. That's one of the reasons I send the cruise ship schedule to our guests, so they can choose what the best day to go downtown is. We look forward to seeing your family again!
Great location on the East end!
The Cottage by the Sea was a perfect spot for myself and three teens to spend a week in lovely Grand Cayman.
Sandra was great with communication and her local property manager Lorraine was lovely and helpful!
A rental car is a must to visit other beaches, restaurants and stores. There is a small Fosters and a liquor store within 5 min but would recommend getting groceries in Savannah on way here from airport. The beach here at the house had lots of sargassum but it’s hard to avoid on the east side of the island. We were able to snorkel and kayak off the beach but if you are squeamish bring water shoes. Enjoyed the hot tub in the evening after a day at the beach. Rented snorkeling gear for the week from Ocean Frontiers right up the road.
As for local excursions- def make reservations for a Stingray City trip -
We booked the early morning trip with White Sand (out of Kaibo yacht club) and they were awesome (ask for Capt Chris). Snorkelled at Spotts beach, Smith’s Barcadero and Cemetery Beach all on west side of the island. Spent the day at Rum point - nice beach, plenty of food options. Also, check out Botanical garden for chance to see blue iguanas. Ate at the Reef Bar at Wyndham, Tukka (go at 5pm to feed frigate birds!) and Taco Cantina (2 for 1 tacos on Thursday). Food is expensive everywhere so be prepared!
Enjoy the quiet East end!!
Super quiet location great for our family of four. Lots of activities to do on the East Side. Grocery store is super close. All around a great place!!
Cayman Cottage by the Sea is located in the peaceful community of Colliers, on the East End of Grand Cayman. We are 2 minutes away from a small strip mall with full convenience store, Italian Restaurant and liquor store. Also located across from the convenience store is the famous Caymanian 'Barefoot Man' dinner show -- a must see when you're in Cayman. 2 minutes in the opposite direction takes you to one of the best dive operators on the island, 'Ocean Frontiers'. There are great restaurants in BOTH directions.
