Alta Heights House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 2-6)

License # 27745 VR09-0047

Casa Alta is a three bedroom two bath Mediterranean inspired home located in a charming neighborhood near Napa's downtown. The house has been recently renovated and will welcome you with its gleaming hardwood floors, freshly painted interior and exterior arched doorways and curved ceilings. Each bedroom is appointed with a luxurious queen sized, pillow top mattress, fine linens and cozy bedding. High quality furniture, antiques and many original works of art are around every corner. Sit at the desk where you can make unlimited local and long distance phone calls, plan your day, peruse the guest book or connect your computer to wireless internet access.

Enter the house through your private courtyard shrouded in potted plants, climbing wisteria and Olive Trees. The back yard is a world all it's own with flagstone patio, hot tub, charcoal barbecue, and partially enclosed outdoor dining room and sitting area. If it's cool, light a fire inside or enjoy the outdoor fireplace. Listen to the sound of the fountain running, read a book or take a nap in the outdoor daybed.

Take a ten minute walk to the incredible Oxbow Market, which houses six restaurants, coffee shop, a wine and cheese merchant, an actual distillery, bakery, tea shop, chocolatier, spices, butcher shop, fresh seafood, organic ice cream, olive oil, gifts and more. Catch the wine trolley from here or board the wine train nearby or continue on to Napa's downtown, where choices abound from day spas, theater, wine tasting rooms and shopping to a plethora of world class restaurants.

Hundreds of wineries are a short drive away, many in the beautiful Carneros region or the Stags Leap wine district, both within five miles. Take flight in a hot air balloon, ride the wine train or hire a tour company to pick you up at Casa Alta and explore.

This is the Napa Valley Lifestyle!

About Belinda Cappelli

I bought my first vacation rental in 2005. I love traveling and never realized what a great way to vacation it was to stay in homes until I had made the purchase. The Napa Valley is such a wonderful lifestyle, and I am always so excited to share the experience with visitors.

Belinda Cappelli purchased this house in 2001

Why Belinda Cappelli chose Napa

This was my first home, and I loved it. It had all the things I wanted ~ I was able to walk to town, it had hardwood floors and lots of charm and plenty of space in the backyard. I worked for years to make it just the way that I wanted it. Then I fell in love and moved in with my sweetheart. The house is almost entirely as it was when I enjoyed living there so much.

What makes this house unique

Walk to the Oxbow Market every morning for fresh pastries, incredible coffees and teas! Relax in the back yard and really settle in. Prepare a wonderful meal and enjoy it on the patio or just share a bottle of wine and some conversation. It's a great, relaxing space with fireplace, daybed, hot tub and flowers.

Home Away From Home

Casa Alta was the perfect place to come for our Napa/Sonoma long weekend. Came for the Napa-Sonoma 1/2 marathon and it was well situated for all the places we needed to go and the patio and hot tub provided the optimal places to relax post race. The house was spotless and well equipped. Thanks a perfect stay.

Tired, but cozy

  • 3 of 5

This is a nice home in the city of Napa. My family and I spent two nights here and enjoyed our time. The house is very dark inside, and many of the blinds are difficult to operate or did not function properly, so it was hard to let light into the bedrooms. The backyard is very nice and provided a great place to relax.

Nice location and we'll suited for our family

  • 4 of 5

We found the house well located and a school and park the nice park right down the street. The three bedrooms were perfect for our family and the two baths worked well. The backyard is large and we enjoyed the dining table out there in the evening.

Laundry facilities on site was wonderful but it would've been better had there been laundry soap provided. Additionally the instructions for the house should be updated regarding the use of a key for the laundry room and where to find it versus the instructions that say you need to use a combination like the front door.

We took the ferry into San Francisco one day and that was wonderful and we did walk to Oxbow market one morning as well.

The air conditioning worked really well and we found the house comfortable and clean. Thanks for sharing your house with us!

Second time rental

  • 3 of 5

Very convenient location. Could use some freshening and minor fixes. Back patio lights never worked. Overall, good value for six adults.

Owner's Response: We are so glad that Bob enjoyed the house and location enough to come back again! I'm sorry the patio lights were not working. I would really appreciate being told when there is a problem at the house; a phone call, text message, email or just leaving a note inside so we can correct the problem. The lights had already been fixed by the time this review was posted, and I would have liked to have the notice to repair them sooner!

Neat little house in a quite neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

The property was very nice, landscaping was gorgeous. The house was nice on the inside, looks newly remodeled for the most part. The backyard sitting area was really nice after a long day of touring wineries it was a good spot to chill and relax especially with the hot tub back there. The house was cool and clean upon arrival with great detailed instructions on how to operate everything as well as where everything was located. We really enjoyed Casa Alta and recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Napa.

Cute Cottage in Napa

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay in Napa and at Casa Alta. The house was clean, the kitchen was well stocked and the beds were very comfortable. I had to take a peek at the brand of sheets because they were so soft (Chris Madden by JCPenney in case you are wondering). The living room couch wasn't very comfortable for our old bones and sat too low. It was my Mom's 80th and my Aunt's 60th and we celebrated with a girls week in the Napa and Sonoma Valley. The house is adjacent to an elementary school, so it was a little busy from 7:45 - 8:00 (we were not there in the afternoon when school was dismissed). I had to pay attention when backing out of the driveway to make my morning Starbucks run. The walk to the Oxbow Market and Starbucks is downhill on the way to town and will take about 10 minutes. Make sure you pack your tennis shoes because wearing flip flops on the trek back up the 2 block hill was challenging. We did not use the hot tub while there and when we put our hand in to test the temperature, it was on the colder side. We sat outside under the pergola, but took towels to put down on the chairs and bench. The seat cushions could have used a cleaning and there were a lot of spider webs with trapped critters and the entire patio should have been hosed down. It did not deter us from eating outside. The neighbors were so nice and came by late at night to let us know the parking lights on our rental car were still on. I haven't been to Napa since 2009 and the downtown area has changed. I loved the walk along the river with the shops and restaurants. The Napa General Store is a must see, especially the back deck where there is outside seating. We tried to have dinner there one night, but there was a private event going on. We would stay at Casa Alta again if we come back to Napa.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the nice review! I'm sorry the patio area was not as clean as it should be. We just had the entire outside area pressure washed and cleaned since your visit. The hot tub temperature is always left up and my housekeeper checks it between each visit in addition to the weekly visit from the hot tub service company. If the water was cool, the water must have been changed and the hot tub cleaned on the day you arrived. It is wired on 220 and should heat to temperature fairly quickly! The Chris Madden Sheets have been discontinued ;-( I loved them for years and the are gone...
