About the property

2 Bedroom House With Direct View And Access To The Beach

This is a 2 bedroom house with direct view and access to the beach (30 meters away) of this scenic fish village of Southern Peloponnese, Greece. It has a large garden, two verandas, one looking towards the mountain, the other towards the beach. Mostly protected from the sun by the huge eucalyptus trees, keeps cool even in the hottest time of the day.

It has air conditioning, TV, Satellite TV, internet, secure parking, and a big children friendly garden.

The main bedroom has a double bed, the other two single ones. Two sofas in the living room can accommodate two more guests.

Within walking distance (3 minutes) from the marina of the village which is surrounded by restaurants, pizzerias, coffee shops, children play ground, hotels and supermarket.

The beach is very clean, mostly of sand or pebbles and not overpopulated. You can walk from your veranda strait to the beach through the small eucalyptus park.

You practically do not need a car in order to spend a few days or weeks there. But if you have one or a boat the possibilities of visiting great places around the area are many. Why Vassilios Psonis chose Messinia

This was our summer house for 18 years and we have lots of wonderful memories of our time in Aghios Andreas in the company of our children. It was a great place to spend our holidays and we think you will enjoy it too.

What makes this villa unique

At the edge of the village, yet only 3 minute walk to the marina, shops and restaurants. It has privacy because there are empty lots of land to the villa's right and left side, while the front of the house has a large garden and the back of the house overlooks a small eucalyptus forest and the beach, which is only 30 meters from the house and is accessible from the villa's back door.

Fantastic house & great location for a holiday

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful holiday here - a week wasn't long enough and we didn't want to leave!

The house is perfect: it's right on the beach, is well equipped and has lots of outdoor space, most of which stays shady in the afternoon (we went in August) so it's easy to get out of the sun if you need to. Rosemarie and Vassilios were excellent hosts, very generous and the house had everything we needed from towels and beach towels to tea and coffee, toilletries and oils and spices to cook with. They'd even put some cold beers, cola for the kids and some wine in the fridge for our arrival. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome.

The house is comfortable - with good air-conditioning. Two bedrooms with comfy beds and it's all very clean. We really liked the fact it wasn't overlooked at all. The veranda at the back is surrounded by trees so it feels like you have you own private space. You're not jostling for sun loungers with other people!

The beach itself is great - it's sandy with clear water that is great to swim in. The kids loved it, and didn't miss not having a pool - as it was so easy to swim in the sea. We also took our snorkelling gear and there are lots of fish to see.

Agios Andreas is a good place to stay: there are a couple of beach bars on the beach and its a five minutes walk - if that - to several tavernas, shop for bread, little supermarket etc. It's a nice spot to have a meal in the evening watching the harbour at night.

There are lots of places to visit: we went to Ancient Messini, Koroni, the market at Petalidi (where you can buy fresh fish each morning) and the castle at Methoni. Rosemarie left lots of information at the house, and is easily accessible should you need any further help.

We had a great holiday and would love to come back another year. Would definitely recommend it.

Great location - nice house, good owners

  • 5 of 5

We had 9 lovely days here in Aug 16 for a family of 4. The sea was so close. The house was still very private due to trees surrounding the grounds. Close also to tavernas and local shops. We cooked a lot in the house and had everything we needed to do that.

Owners were very attentive and sorted out minor problems swiftly.

Highly recommended.

Perfect Stay

  • 5 of 5

This is a great sized house for our family of four (two teenage boys) and a fantastic position onto the lovely beach at Aghios Andreas. The house is very clean, has everything that you need and Vassilis and Rosemarie made us feel very welcome when we first arrived - great hosts!

Aghios Andreas is a lovely small village with a pretty marina and some lovely positioned cafes and restaurants (plus fab bakery). A perfect spot for exploring the beautiful Messinia - we will definitely be back

Great Place For a November Holiday

  • 5 of 5

The Beach House in Aghios Andreas, well kept and charming, was a great place to stay for a month.

We stayed for a month last Nov. and found the house was a perfect place for us with all the amenities of the house, the village and surroundings.

We were happy with the warm days of Nov. (20 degrees to 25 degrees). The evenings cooled off and we appreciated the adequate heating system. A car would be helpful, but with our many years of bicycle touring, we preferred to use bicycles we rented in the village. There are endless places to bicycle and walk or hike (trekking). A wonderful way to see and appreciate the countryside.

Bicycling along the coast road to the many villages is an option as well as the rural hilly roads. The back roads and tracks are great for either bicycling or walking. The forests of the mystical olive trees are beautiful. Most villages one goes through can be destinations for a break for coffee or a beer! A walk along the beach that is only a few metres behind the Beach House was a great way to start the morning. Aghios Andreas is a lovely, small port with places to walk and sip coffee from a nearby café. Each morning we bought exceptionally good bread and other baking from the friendly bakery. When one stays a month in a village one begins to make small friendships with the friendly villagers!

Nov. is the time the olive harvesting begins. It is interesting to watch the labour intensive process while out in the surrounding area.

We can't say enough good words about Rosemarie and Vassilis, the owners of the Beach House. They were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. They take such pride in keeping the house in a manner that every renter would feel at home in it.

We would love to return again!

Aghios Andreas
Car: not necessary

Aghios Andreas is perfectly located for a relaxing beach holiday, although outdoor activities, nightlife, ancient Greek sites and artistic events (music, theatre, dance and more) are never far away. The village has its own marina, restaurants and bars and is close to many beaches and attractions.

Must see nearby places include Koroni ( 10km), Methoni (30km ) and Pylos (40km), with their panoramic sea views and Venetian castles. The vibrant city of Kalamata is only 38km away, while the beautiful archeological site of Ancient Messini is 50km from Aghios Andreas. Across the bay you can visit Mani and the stone-built villages of Kardamili (1.5 hours drive), Stoupa (1.75hours drive) and Aghios Nikolas (1.8 hours drive). A bit further afield in Mani you can also visit the world famous Diros Caves (2.5 hours drive).

Night life, horseback riding, diving, sailing, trekking, cycling, and fishing are all available near Aghios Andreas.. A world-class golf course is located at Costa Navarino (about 45km) and in the summer months Koroni has an international music festival, while Kalamata has an international dance festival in July.

Live music is never far away. On most summer weekends you can enjoy live rock music, as well as local Greek music in either Aghios Andreas or the nearby villages of Chrani, Charakopio, and Koroni.

There are two supermarkets in Aghios Andreas, while in the nearby village of Nea Koroni (3km away) there is a much larger supermarket where you can find almost anything you require. Aghios Andreas also has a very good bakery, an ATM machine, several coffee shops and restaurants, as well as a gift shop, a butcher and a few small hotels.

You can buy fresh fish from a local fishermen right from his boat in Aghios Andreas on most days, while in nearby Petalidi (12 km) there is a fish market where local fishermen sell their daily catch.

Every Friday there is also an open air market in Petalidi where you can buy fruit, vegetables and other items from local producers.

You can rent bicycles from a nearby hotel in Aghios Andreas at very good prices and if you don't have a car you can use the local bus service which goes from Koroni to Kalamata and vice versa, and stops in Aghios Andreas and other villages 5 or 6 times a day.

Aghios Andreas is perfect for families since there is a playground for young children in the village marina, while the beach is children friendly.
